Great Session! Respect to you after I read about 20 Comments.....🤯🤯🤯.....People should have used Google more often 10-7 Years ago 😂
Wow thank you !
@@adnmusic Found your Clip after adding the Gaia to my Synth-Collection | Its a Blast ♨️ Do you still have yours?
Yes I still have mine 😀 go and see Synth Demo #19 if you want. It really helped me to understand synths and sound generation !
@@adnmusic the Gaia is one of the easiest Synths I own/owned - really in Love with the Interface - its really great for Live Sessions ♨️
I got my Gaia this afternoon after two months saving up via FedEx. It's half past two in the morning, I just opened another tall can and I'm still jamming and goddam it, I'm supposed to be at work at ten driving a cab. Fuck that, I'm gonna play my Gaia and TR-8 and System 1 trio.
I remember seeing these when they were new and almost bought one. This video makes me think that my whole life's musical journey would have been different if I had. Well done.
Really ? Thank you !
I loved that demo very much my friend, thank you for that, also the John Michelle Jarre, Jon & Vangelis and Robert Miles was very impressive, that D Beam is impressive and I've seen it on a few other of Rolands synths before too and I'm glad to see that they've carried it on through with the Gaia SH01 as well
.
Glen :-)
Enjoyed this - great arrangements and very precise playing!
Amazing atmosphere.
.
I want to thank you for inspiring me to play my Gaia again these past few months. I have managed to coax some incredible sounds out of it that I thought only a much more complex synth could do. And even though I still recommend outboard effects, my SH-01 is going to remain an integral part of my studio.
Keep up the great work inspiring others.
Wow thank you ! You're welcome 😀
A!.....Vangelis!!!, A!......Mike Oldfield!!!...Kraftwerk.... you are going very well. You are catching some very favorite artists. I did not expect Vangelis .....
Best demo yet on this. thank you for sharing.
thank you :D
The Friends Of Mr. Cairo was epic
Thank you Flux 😀
This is a multitrack sequencing with only Gaia sounds (nearly, read the description)
Recorded in an external sequencer, Gaia only records phrases.
Oh I love the Jon and Vangelis bit. You nailed it. Its perfect.
Thank You Warp !
i was so on the fence about buying one of these till this goddamn video lol. nice. :)
wow, you blew me away with this demo! This is the best demo on the Gaia iv seen yet! Very nice indeed, keep up the good work!
underrated demonstration
oh thank you Zilchrion !
Outstanding

Un beau petit monstre ! Merci pour le partage.
Génial, j'adore, je suis fan !
Merci !
Complimenti!
Thank You !
Radio-Activity portion, fucking sick as hell. Excellent work, my man.
Très bien joué! Bravo!!!
Merci François !
P.S, I sure like JJ Jarr and U R ALSO playing that PERFECT. I am looking to meet like minded folk like you and others living local. I am in the beautiful West Midlands UK.
this deserves way more views, that keyboard playing is fantastic!!
Great skills, love the JMJ examples. Nice one. cheers.
Thank you M Mair
You are fantastic, guy! I've been hesitating to buy a GAIA for a long time but I've do a purchase today :)
Your video helped me more then others, thank you!
awesome. Love Vangelis particularly
Thank you G4d !
Ignore the hate dude. You got skills and these people commenting saying it's too 80 ' s sounding are dumb and don't understand chiptune all that well.
Zirk't Saying something sounds like the 80s, when it comes to synth music is a complement, IMO. Blade Runner, Miami Vice, new wave...my favorite music of all time. Newer does not mean better. Listen to modern pop and then try to convince me that it's NOT crap
Lol most of those people are the same ones who listen to the garbage no called "Dubstep". Explains everything.
Funny reading this in 2018. The 80s Sound is so trendy now that people would love a synth with such vintage sounds
Hard agree; I imagine him making stuff like Metroid Prime soundtracks if he got on a team. It's not like there's much holding him back. Is that to say Metroid Prime is stuck in the '80s, or to say people don't like Metroid Prime?
3:40 sounds like im balls deep in chronotrigger
Wow this synth has alot of character. And you got some mad skills.
Thank you Jan !
So much fun
Thank You Jan-Martin !
@rodrigomohandas thank you !
Gaia is a wonderful toy and humans need toys :D
Nice!!!
Thanks Dan !
Es el mejor demo que he visto!!
Thank You Joan !
@adnmusic Thank you very much ;)
thank you !!!
Nice
A decent keyboard with none of that menu driven nonsense.
Nice music. Roland makes some nice gear.
Nice! The Gaia is a great synth, I might buy another one!
Thank You !
Hey I really like the Video!!!!!!
thank you !
@verve92 HI ! All what you see me play is live, the other parts were recorded before. THank you !
Ok cool awesome thankyou!
Great ! Great ! Great !
You are Awesome man,and Midnight Express is one of my favourite movies of all time and just love Kraftwerk i love tour du France they used it in the 80's movie breakdance or "Breakin" in the part where the guy is sweeping up outside the shop and making the broom dance with him Awesome and he makes the broom float and you can see the fishing wire if you look closely lol,Oh i bought the same synth about a year ago but haven't really been playing, just no motivation cause I'm ill just now and sleep
It's an amazing Synthersizer
Cool !
this is going to get a ton of views..... damn good demo.. also good taste in music (just now getting to the kraftwerk)
oh wow thanks! i wanna learn that little part so i can play it for fun :P
love it
thank you !
Magnifique! Je pense que je vais me l'acheter quand j'aurais de l'argent ... =)
@klairzaki31 quel enthousiasme ça fait plaisir :)
thank you ALex !
@Adicone16040 buy a second-hand one ! ( in France, Gaia is 650 euros new, 400 euros second hand)
The drums sounds come from the Gaia (except in Oxygene II) but are drived by the sequencer of another synth of mine, because Gaia has no sequencer
@1314matt thank you ! the drums come from the Gaia's midi banks
Midnight Express (Giorgio Moroder 1978)
Mister Cairo!
and his friends...
Sure :D
@SyntheticPeaches thank you :)
¡Great! Thanks for sharing. But the morse section in the Kraftwerk song was transmiting a message, that is lost on your cover :)
Great video! Would you mind sharing the sequence used for Industrial Revolution II ? It would be of great help! Thank you very much!
@JaegunnVids thanks for your comment !
the piano comes from the General Midi Bank included in the Gaia,
the vocoder effect is the result of passing a Gaia synthpad sound through a vocoder software
This synth reminds me of the Unreal Soundtrack and Command and Conquer. Also the Terminator and some Metroid Prime.
Kraftwerk - nice!
It was so great! Can you share the patches if you are willing?
I know I'm a little late to the party, but...
Your video is very good. I enjoyed your playing and multi tracking of your sounds. I bought one of these roughly about 8 years ago as well and unfortunately after a few days of playing it I realized just how thin it sounded. The most use I got out of it was for soft, unobtrusive background pads and FX. After that it just sat around for about 3 years under a dust cover. One day I decided to experiment with running my old VA synths through a distortion pedal and amp simulator. The first synth I tried was my Gaia and what I heard blew me away. At first it was obviously muddy, but after EQing it and adjusting the gain on the pedal I was able to coax some very analog sounding tones out of it. It didn't exactly like any specific analog synth I've heard, but it was a lot warmed than just running it direct.
I still use it to this day, though not as much as I used to. If anyone wants to warm up the sounds of this synth I recommend a simple EQ and a good amp simulator. Various settings will produce a variety of interesting tones, most of them useful and pleasing (subtle tweaking is the key.)
OK, sorry for being so long winded.
Thank you !
@adnmusic Can you elaborate. I'm pretty tight on the budget and I really liked what I saw in your vid and elsewhere on the tube.
Gaia is midi and has a phrase sequencer, but my medley is audio only (no midi)
J'aime bien le piano bastringue à 2'30 très BO à la Nino Rota
Hi ! this is a factory pattern inside the Korg Minipops 7
@1314matt yes indeed ! you plug a keyboard or a computer in the midi-IN ou of the Gaia and you can play with General Midi sounds. Refer to the Midi Implementation Chart.
Man this sounds good, May have to get this for a Melodic Metal Track im working on!
Metal , Yuk.
@silentgrayfellow101 no drum beats or drum patterns in Gaia. The drum beats were programmed in an external sequencer controlling the Gaia drum sounds
how do you hook Gaia up to a computer and like route midi to different channels? or is it audio? I use logic and I still haven't found a way to fully integrate it, sync tempos, ect.
@TheVanilla256 thank you !
@adnmusic. Was this overdubbed? There are different parts playing at the same time. I know the drums are separate.
GREAT stuff this just sold me on the Gaia. Luv thew Kraftwerk
Did you that sound preset (8:00) from the scratch? What is the base for this particular sound? I would like to recreate it on my new GAIA that I have bought a month ago. I have noticed that you were tweaking the Cut-off and Resonance. How did you apply this effect to the D-beam?
That was a really great Demo. gives a good feel of some of the Gaia's sounds.
Is the Piano-ish sound around 2:33 and the vocorder later from the Gaia or something else?
@adnmusic ok thank you Mr Kitaro....
Great stuff! I'm thinking about buying either the Gaia or the Nord Lead 2x. Which would you recommend?
the drums come from Gaia, except the minipop sample in Oxygene II
no problem bro! imma go into techno myself ;)
5:43 lofl
DILLA !!!!!! TURN IT UP !!!
nice one G
Thank You Ryan
Amazing demo, love it! But where do the drums come from?
I listened too this on acid and i have too say it is beyond special haha
I think that Gaia is an instrument first, but I guess it can be a controller as well
check the specifications at Roland's site !
@adnmusic: So if I get an SH-01 GAIA, would I be able to access them somehow?
but are the bass souns made on it. caus i read that some parts weren't i dont kno which parts they are
indeed :)
thank you ! for your research, try that synth :
dave smith instruments
poly evolver keyboard
@RockyMM sorry that was real-time tweaking, i have not memorized the sounds
this is awesome. does the Gaia have looping on it? or would I have to buy a ditto looper?
there is a custom arpegiator but no looper
How do you get that vibrato effect on your patch? I want to figure out how to have a vibrato constantly on the patch, not just when you bend the mod wheel.
where you get $500 ? i though it was $650... is that the drum sound also include in this key?do you use any program for this ?
Very good can you release sheet music and preset patches please
oh sorry, this was audio and live tweak, i had neither midifile nor preset patches
