Going back I see SO many shots of Miss Kitty. Always so lovely and exactly as you said...classy horse. She was so loved. I know it's hard, but she had a lovely life, Brandi. 💗
Wow, how awesome a rider was that wee girl on the mini bucking bronco! I was so impressed but also laughing so hard at the cuteness of it. Plus, the cat just walking around like it was inspecting the horses...it was so confident, with its tail straight in the air...amazing! What an experience for your young riders...they must learn so much but have so much fun too. Tyfs 😁😁😁
+Tracy Rain thank you! The girl on the bucking mini is one heck of a rider. The horse she owns can be a handful at times and she sticks to him like glue. She loves a good challenge 😂
It is so wonderful what you r doing with your horse camps. They r learning excellent knowledge of the horses and what it takes to take care of them. The speeder up videos are great.and i am impressed with your balance training. Keep up the fantastic work you are doing it is truly marvelous
DUDE! I'm a very equestrian and riding started at a camp when I was 7 (I really got serious when I was 9) the horse camp I went to was like HELL they had like 8 horses in a tiny arena all with a bunch of kids who could barely trot the lunge line I remember there was this one kid who was the "advanced kid" and they could canter on the lunge line and I thought they were so cool and now I jump 2.5 feet and wanna see that person again and 1 up them. you organized this so well next summer I'm going back to that camp as a stable hand and riding instructor. GREAT JOB!
In a show ring she wouldn't be the ideal "look" size wise, but she is definitely a safe weight for Daisy to carry. This particular rider happens to be very balanced making it even easier for Daisy to carry her. I wouldn't put someone who wasn't balanced on her, Daisy is the type of horse to get frustrated easily and the unbalanced weight could certainly cause her to buck. Many of my ponies actually prefer taller riders. I think its because they a more effective leg and don't give confusing signals. I'm no exactly tall (5'4) and I frequently feel like I'm at a disadvantage because my legs are so short. I definitely fit better on a smaller horse.
Loved that 'Horse Camp' fun and such a lovely thing for those children. So good to see them have such pure 'nourishment' from Brandi their teacher. I have a question..... Why do I see predominantly girls in the horse world? I do see young men and enjoy their videos but a large % of people involved in horse care seem to be female.
OMG that looks like so much fun I own horses I have been riding horses for 2 + years I would like to join camp horse camp where are you located so I can check you guys out
Hey thanks for commenting. The twenty percent rule is a general rule and not something i will ever follow exactly. Just like everything with horses, each situation is different. For example… Pound for pound, ponies, mules and donkeys are much stronger than horses so they can carry more weight than you’d think. The minis weight over 300 pounds and the kids are 60 pounds. Just because the kids are tall, does not mean they are heavy. It actually gives them a nice advantage because they can balance easier making them much more comfortable riders for the horses. As you can see, these minis are not ready for tiny little riders, that would be unsafe for the kids, but I’m hoping someday they will be. These girls were able to ride the minis for me and give them some really good training sessions. Since I am way too big for them, I need riders who are much smaller, yet experienced enough to help me out with these minis. Everyone learned a lot, the minis got some good exercise, and it was fun.
Ok ty for replying but scientists recommend that you follow the 20% rule because if you don’t you could and will damage the horses back .Also they are still heavy for the ponies they can carry a lot but you need to add the tack weight plus the rider weight you could also but appropriate weights on the ponies and lunge them to get them used to it. At 12:35 her feet were almost touching the ground!if I sent this to a vet they would say that the 20% rule is very important thank you again for responding have a good day.

4:44 that girl was way to big for the pony! And at 12:35 the twenty percent rule is a thing you know!!!!!!

Why?
