The SS and the Husky,in my mind, are the 2 MOST important Backend positions in our defense(Especially in the versatility that is needed). And are the MOST important Secondary positions in ALL of College football and in the NFL...It is NOT the CB's anymore, and especially in our new schemes, techniques, alignments, and coverages. I too believe Sabb will do a real good job at SS....

How they perform in college means a whole lot more than how many stars they had in high school.

I still don't understand Amos leaving. I bet he would've been a starter. I consider Jones and Amos similar talent-wise, but Amos has more experience plus a year in the SEC.
Hope DeShawn proves me wrong and he's the better player. We will see.

Perhaps DaShawn Jones just grew tired of being Deacon Blue.

A 3 star. Are we really supposed to be excited about this?

Not familiar with the guy, Trust DeBoer. Don’t let media rivals convince you if a player’s ability. A 3-star with a year of experience can certainly contribute and add depth at the very least.

Deshawn jones is ok at best, he’s not the caliber of DB that bama is use too. His highlights are ok. But if you watch the actual game film you’ll see that he’s very much so mediocre. He has a ton of bad habits that needs to be cleaned up. I just hope our young guys that actually have the athleticism, size and speed will mature fast enough. RTR

@@jamesniday9236 when I do an evaluation on a guy I watch 2 early season games against good teams. Then I watch 2 games later in the season to compare and see if the players is progressing. First off he is aggressive which can be good and bad. So against FSU his eye discipline wasnt great, it’s called eye candy for a reason. Once the QB 3 step is over and the ball is still in his hands you gotta find the WR and cover. He’d get caught looking too long and WRs got behind him a few times. Then when playing quarters and cover 3 he was getting outflanked a lot biting on the inside move from #1 WR and not be wide enough to pick up who’s ever coming out wide. Not seeing crossers from the opposite side. Once your guy disappears inside you got stay wide but also get depth for crossers.
Now by the end of the season he did get better it seemed but in the Clemson game they had already started subbing in guys at his position. Bigger guys. So he’s a solid peace just not elite like we’re use too. He needs to put on good weight but his frame looks like the type that can’t hold weight and maintain his speed. But maybe not. RTR
