Just had my FC 27FBT done on Jan. 6-8th. Great folks and the end result was awesome. They are also doing some of the other things Vinnie does in California.
We purchased our 2021 "lightly used" Flying Cloud 25FB in June of 2023. In October I drove from Iowa to Tallahassee for the sole purpose of having Master Applied Coatings put ceramic coating on my Airstream. My RV was new enough it did not yet have filiform corrosion and I wanted to prevent it from starting. With Airstreams being a lifetime RV, adding a 5% investment ($5000 ceramic coating) that will protect my investment for 15 to 20 years is more than worth the cost! I loved the video and enjoyed seeing the guys again at Master Applied Coatings through your video. I do not have a UA-cam channel with thousands of subscribers, yet they gave me the same kind of attention and explanations you show in your video. Not only do they do quality work and are great people to work with.
We truly had a great experience and so glad to know you did too! Thank you for the comment. Vinnie goes out of his way to hire special people to work under his name. We are thankful to have fantastic people like this in our lives.
You won’t be getting 15-20 years out of that coating. I use ceramic coatings for a living and there are so many factors that this coating relies on to stay on the clear coat. Using drive through car washes where the water is more acidic will ruin a good coating over the coarse of a few years. So doesn’t the sun and other chemicals that tend to get in the vehicles. It will definitely make your life easier when cleaning stuff off and having stuff not stick to it as easy. $5k isn’t a bad deal too.
Vinnie goes out of his way to insure he has happy customers. We are lucky to have been one of his first clients to get ceramic coating when he was in Wilton. You are going to love it!
BTW, used to have Progressive Ins., for my Airstream & vehicle, was great, but started big % increases. Checked GEICO & turned out much less, back to P.’s rates pre pandemic:)
We have them still and have enjoyed their policies. Also, our LLC owns the truck and the trailer so it's through that. Little different than personal insurance.
Thanks for putting together this video, Brad. I've been looking forward to it all week. We just came back from our season open Airstream rally for our local unit so I just now had a chance to sit down and watch it with my wife. Really appreciate your insights and recommendations for the process. Thanks for asking good questions of the MAC team to help us know what to do and what not to do. We have a one month old '24 Trade Wind twin and I am itching to get the MAC treatment done to it. Fortunately our trailer came with the MaxxAir fan already installed instead of the Dometic.
Hello and thanks for watching! Glad to know you learned something from the video. It's a great group, great product, and will last a long time on your rig!
Thank you for another very informative video! We've been thinking about ceramic coating for our '23 Flying Cloud 27 and probably will get it done at some point. Wiping the bugs off with ease is definitely a plus! We replaced the ceiling fan the first week as it disintegrated after 2 uses. The single arm lift is the stupidest design ever. We replaced it with the deluxe Maxx Air fan and could not be happier! The flexibility of fan direction and speeds as well as the hood, which is great for ventilation while driving down the road... just an excellent unit. We love seeing your pup in the videos but we'd like to see your kitty too. We travel for extended periods of time around the country with two cats. They're good travelers. By the way, thanks for the litterbox idea - successfully doing the same thing!
Hello and thanks for watching and for your feedback! Scout doesn't make too many appearances as she is pretty shy and sleeps so much. I will make a point to put her in more videos. The puppy pads in the shower have been a game changer for us and glad you like it. The fan issue was a manufacturing error. They put some type of oil on them that caused the plastic to breakdown, thus breaking hundreds of them for a few months. Glad you like the fan. We love it and should have done it long ago. The new 2024 comes with a MaxAiir fan instead of the Fantastic fans of old.
Really looks nice! We have a few spots of Filaform on our 2005 AC Classic we purchased last year and some dents in our rock guards. I consider the dents in our rock guards to be battle scars of enjoying the great outdoors. Yes, I did purchase "Rock Tamers" to prevent any further dents. I have debated whether to get a ceramic coating, but although it looks nice, where would I actually be if the ceramic coating was put on when the trailer was new almost 20 years ago? Most likely where I am now with a few spots of Filaform. It does look easier to clean though and thank you for the video. I think I will take the money I would have spent for the ceramic coating and purchase a new refrigerator, oven or air conditioner once the originals finally give up the ghost. Vinnie is great by the way with my limited interaction with him and is down to earth! Happy trails!
Thank you for watching and your feedback! We have waited a number of years trying to decide if we wanted to do this or not. I didnt do it on my last Airstream and we decided a while back that we would get this one done when an opportunity presented itself. Yes, it was expensive and it was tough to write that check, we are very happy with it so far.
Hello! You can find it in this video: ua-cam.com/video/XxHaD2dkisU/v-deo.html. I install it on this video and the amazon link to it is in the video description. For future, reference, you can find pretty much anything we use on our Amazon page: www.amazon.com/shop/thirteenadventures I have everything broken down by category.
I have a 2024 33 Classic that we are in the process of getting scheduled. Question: After you wash it, what do you do with water spots after you have it coated?
I use a microfiber towel to dry it off! Please know that I have just finished editing a follow-up video on this topic and it will be posted as soon as I can. There are some special announcements coming in the video so make sure you watch it!
Getting our upgrade AS soon and want to have this done…but we are in WASHINGTON and not driving across country as to our age..70’s…do you have a resource near Washington for te ceramic coating?
I've been wanting to do this since right when bought the trailer last year but need to figure the logistics getting it down to California from Washington. Like you we had the dealer apply their version of ceramic but I don't really trust it. Will you continue to use the Aero Cosmetics stuff? After watching your video awhile back I've started to use it, like it and I'm also giving it a try on my boat this year....we'll see next winter after a summer of sport fishing if I'm compounding, polishing and then waxing more than normal.
Hi and thanks for watching. Also glad to know the Aero Cosmetics is working out for you. I will do a follow up video soon on what I use now to clean based on their recommendations but I cant use the Aero anymore. Anything with a "wax" or a "coating" or anything other than soap shouldn't be used anymore. Ill still use the Aero to clean my truck!
Hello. Its Brad. As noted in the video the application is a proprietary application and blend. I was not allowed in there when they applied it. I believe they cover the trailer at least twice.
I assume you are referring to the translucent cabinet doors inside the rig. They were from the factory. If this is not the case, please let me know what you're specifically asking and ill reply.
Brad wondering if the coating is something that is recommended to have done if you buy a new rig prior to using it for a while or best to wait a year or so like you all did.
I would get it done as soon as possible. This way, you are less likely to form any filiform corrosion or other environmental affects on the rig as you use it. I couldn't fit it in my schedule before now.
It's not for most and if we didnt spend so much time in the truck, we would have something much cheaper. As the Airstream is our full-time house and the truck takes us everywhere, its worth it to us.

love that vinnies / masters souring their consumables from usa
We love that too!
Thank you for your content. I’m a new Airstreamer. You’ve become my first stop when I need to learn something about maintenance.
Thank you so very much for watching and your feedback! We are always willing to help if something arrises. Please never hesitate to reach out to us!
Beautiful with that new ceramic coating. 👍👍
Thank you for watching and your feedback.
Coating seems great. However I struggle to believe it last 10-15 years. Any resources that would confirm the durability/ life.
Id encourage you to check out the FAQ page and call them to ask questions.

Was surprised to hear you had some corrosion, as presumed a relatively new rig? Isn’t the hatch just available 2020 & newer.
It was from being next to the coast with salt air!! Minimal, but this is a common issue.
@ sorry happened. but good to know/ avoid if not ceramic protected. Thanks,

Great job on the video! I certainly like the idea... With a brand new A/S on the way I'm strongly considering the product!
Thanks for watching and your feedback! Its pretty great!
It looks wonderful ❤
Thank you!
@@ThirteenAdventures added this to our bucket list!!! And great tip of doing our truck at the same time!! Have a great day 😊
As always another very informative video. Thanks for sharing

hi @ThirteenAdventures what is the brand of the jack cover that you have? Thanks for the info and introduction to the Ceramic Coating

The closest to you is Vinnies Northbay in Sacramento CA
Man o man, just 18 months ago or so it was 4K to do a 30' Airstream...
I know! I priced my last trailer and sold it before I could get it done. They continue to improve the formula and make it better through
Great Video. looks awesome where is MAC located missed that part?
You can have it done at Vinnies in Sacramento CA or at MAC in Tallahassee FL
Florida love bugs in April and May is an experience nobody forgets.
For sure! We are in Alabama now so its a little better here.
Great video but I need to know more about those brushes they were using. Do you know the name or can you post a link. Thanks
I assume you’re looking for the wash brushes?? There is an Amazon link to them in the video description

Thanks Brian! How many coats are applied?
Hello. Its Brad. As noted in the video the application is a proprietary application and blend. I was not allowed in there when they applied it. I believe they cover the trailer at least twice.
I think I missed the price. what was the cost?
It's in there: 25:10 mark. This trailer was a little over $5k
Did you remove any other exterior items besides emblems? Taillights, running lights, etc?
I did not on this one but would in the future. I just knew there was some filiform behind my rear emblem is the only reason I pulled those off.
How does it fair when you park on the beach?
Salt spray washes off! Also, it protects against corrosion on many areas...specifically the taillights.
Where did you guys get the knobs on the overhead slider doors?
I assume you are referring to the translucent cabinet doors inside the rig. They were from the factory. If this is not the case, please let me know what you're specifically asking and ill reply.
@@ThirteenAdventures thanks we have thumb holes on ours . Looking for knobs with large base to cover the thumb hole .
You could probably find them at Lowes, Home Depot or other cabinet place.

Wouldn't be worth the cost for me.
