Wildlings are underrated. Doing a Wildling only play through currently and these guys can hold their own against Vlandian cavalry too just time the javelin throws though. Also speaking of javelins pair them with shield breaking perk in throwing and enemy shields break so fast its hilarious to see.

You ever do a trading playthrough? There is this twilight zone of sorts where you can actually take over rebel city's without starting wider wars or even being part of a kingdom. I'm thinking it's possible to take over large parts of the map like that without being vulnerable to wars from factions. Makes sense for a trade theme too since war, at least in this game, is bad for business. It would essentially turn the game into a city management sim except for an occasional siege of a rebel town but I wonder if anyone's done something like that to take over the map.

this kinda play will be for fighting only yeah? or the perks down there as Steward, leadership does not make so much changing in the late game? (I am a noob player)

Late comment but BO usually plays themeatically/fun perk suggestions. You can beat the game however with and perk allocation but in general INT and SOC are the strongest perks mid to late game. But you can win by just being a fighting expert as long as you are enjoying it it doesnt matter.

The game should tell the player that the noble troops can only be recruited from castle villages. They don’t give the player enough information.

Too many games give way too much information and assistance. Back in the days, it was up to the player to figure shit out, and we didn't have easy access to forums, chats, etc... This is something I really value about Bannerlord. They don't hold your hand. You need to earn your playthrough.

@@jeromelacey4067I agree but they could at least have a more comprehensive encyclopedia. Like anno 1800. It doesn’t explain everything for you. Not nearly. But the in-game encyclopedia has the info. It was 2022, they could at least give you the resources for you to figure it out without having to use UA-cam, or 30 playthroughs just to figure out something basic.

I like to have a two deep line of 32 hired/elite pikes to pike brace against enemy cavalry and protect my Fians.

With that build, going smithing for the bonus Stat points would be killer.

Fantastic stuff. Love all your Bannerlord videos. I've learned so much from you. More than anywhere else come to think of it. If I can ask a question? Have you got any ideas how to stop the Kingdom you belong to doing so well? Other than leaving it, fighting it and ultimately taking it over? In all my playthroughs, whichever Kingdom I belong to goes like a juggernaut, even without my help. Battania always gets wiped out, unless I'm a Battanian. I'd love to be part of the desperate fight to keep hold of Battanian land as a Battanian in the service of it's ruler. I'd like the midgame to be much harder. Any ideas? Also, keep up the great work. Love it.

It's one of the most frustrating problems in the game and I really don't have a great solution. It would be much improved if the world was more dynamic and each play through presented different factions rising or falling. It's such a great experience to be the savior of a faction but, as you pointed out, even a little assistance seems to tip the scales of power dramatically. The best way is to merc for the enemy factions and then swap once you've got them on the ropes. It's effective but thematically awful.
I'm always hopeful Taleworlds will address these issues but they never do. Such a tragedy because with the right tweaks it could be even more amazing. Maybe some modders will cook up a fix (randomly add more nobles to some factions, better auto calc for a few years, etc.). And i think with the right tweaks and improvements many people could be convinced to by some DLC but I'm biased. Still a great game but a lot of potential left on the bench.

@@BOklahoma Thanks for your reply BOklahoma. It is such a shame, because I love the game. I installed Diplomacy ages ago thinking it might help, and it does in many aspects of the game, but you can't tweak it to apply to only one faction. If you could I'd make Battania (or whichever kingdom I'm playing) none expansionist in my playthrough. In the merc phase they'd lose fiefs. As a vassal I'd help them get them back. That would be awesome. The alternative is, like you say, thematically awful. Right now I'm a Battanian Merc with 40 Fians. Having a great time raiding and taking caravans. But, at just level 14, Battania has a foothold in Vlandia, Sturgia and the Empire. So frustrating. This is what happens whichever Kingdom I choose to play. If you ever find a solution, please make it known. If I find one I'll be sure to tell you. Thanks again for your fantastic videos. Cheers, Jim.

best shock troops are dismounted khans guards, but i love doing 150 khans/ 150/ fian champs+ 50 leagionaries army, i do 2 groups of khans, one dismounted as a shock troops/with use of legionaries in shield wall , then have the fians untouchable in back plus the rest of Khans are circling on horses, after they finish with arrows, i used them to crush enemies like a cav with theire glaives... with just 350 army i can smack 1800 good army with like 20-30 casualities max, againts 2200 i can still win on a close call, i am even surprised they perfom excelent in siege defenses/attacks Khans Guards are super deadly with Fian Champs 😵‍💫💀
