I don’t really like “Beatle basses” just because they are so iconic. No one looks right playing them but Paul. However, your take on this turned out superb. It doesn’t make me think of Paul at all. And what’s up with your build quality? You went from pretty good to flippin amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Keep up the beautiful work!
Different instruments in different price categories get different treatment. My goal here is to make very affordable, ecoethical custom guitars so people don't have to settle for what the stores sell, but I want to keep them in the same or lower price range than their factory peers, so I can't finesse as much. This bass is in a higher price range so it gets a higher level of fit and finish. Thanks!
Eesh SinGer naw, it’s just that Paul owns that. Other people played them, and Paul played other basses, but in my mind he and that shape are tied together. I mean we all know exactly what a “Beatles Bass” is. Tim modernized the design in my eyes. I don’t think it is just the fact that it’s 6 strings either. I think this would work well as a 4 string too.
tim sway you’re welcome. This deserves to command a high price. The detail, fit and finish, the materials, all top notch. Plus I love that you stuck with your philosophy of being as eco friendly as possible.
I can clearly see a fourth dimension, just curled up so it is invisible for us. Spacetime, huh? Quantum effects? And all you bla bla bla is bats and stupid violins. You are Newton fans? Poor souls...
This marvel makes "custom" models of famous brands sound like a joke. Mahogany looks so great and everything blends together superb! Even pickups are custom made and sound was lovely. Big thumbs up!
This is the first time I have heard a bass of 5 or more strings sound warm. In fact, I would say that this is the warmest fatest midrangey bass I have ever heard. It sounds amazing. He's doing a good job a playing it to demonstrate that tone and what it can do. On most of hte videos he has done, he does not spend enough time demo'ing the sound of the guitar, and often he does not do a good job of finding the guitars tone. He's better on woodworking than guitar, but not today. He's getting a delectable bass sound on that awesome instrument.
Typnig si copmlicated, hhu? Wyh od yuo sawp lal thsee letetrs? Ni a huryr? Ywh? You can CORERTC yrou rerors! Tide, corerct dna seva! Uyo lofo?! Sorry, you asked fro it.
When I see lots of saw dust while watching woodworking videos, I find myself blowing at my phone in hopes to seeing the satisfying sight of it flying away.
Every time I see one of your creations, they show leaps and bounds in your growth as a luthier. Incredible build and I hope to own one of your pieces in the future.
I really enjoy your commentary and I think that just a little bit of light jazz in the background would perfectly complement it. Nothing too loud or too spicy, just some very calm music. As always, beautiful craftsmanship!
Great video! It's been awesome being a part of this project and I can't wait to get my hands on it! I'll definitely be using it for years to come! Beautiful craftsmanship and it sounds so warm and heavy. She'll be the belle of the bass ball haha Edit: just received it! Super solid work and it got a crazy deep and fat tone! It's so much fun to play and I can't put it down!
Thanks for the opportunity. I love doing builds like this because I never would have thought this up on my own. The collaboration really is mutually beneficial.
It sort of ticks all my boxes: it's beautiful, it's semi-hollow and it sounds great. Don't you want to make one for yourself now Tim? Or keep this and make a new one for the client? :)
'Weirdly suggestive sanding' ..I laughed out loud...I wasn't expecting that hilarity as video is already very interesting and entertaining..that comedic moment was most welcome though 🤣🤣🤣 I also like the way we didn't have to wait til the end to see it finished product. Beautiful sounding and great looking instrument. Wonderful.
I'm not always super impressed by the guitars you make, which is fine because you're still learning and improving, but this one is really fantastic. Great work.
Very cool... Fine quality workmanship, with the experimenter's mindset. With woods being so DANG expensive, I love that you're sourcing the "extras"... it saves money and prevents waste. Super Cool project. This makes more MORE willing to experiment with stuff than I usually am.
BRAVO! People admire USELESS celebrities showing off.. what? - Nothing. I admire people like You and also have some instruments "made" by myself. You are my guru Sir... ps. Love its sound and I do love that radius as reminds me my beloved double bass!
One very specific thing I like on this is the small fingerboard radius, for me that helps playing double stops and triads, which is something 6 string lends itself to. It's hard to find instruments with modern features but a tight radius.
I got a little carried away on the radius but it feels real natural to me. I hope the client feels the same way! Yes, typically extended range instruments get very flat.
Felix Papalardi & Jack Bruce both played Gibson EB-O violin basses. Late 1950’s. They looked and sounded wicked! Listen to Mountain, Crossroader and Cream, Politician. You will hear that rich Gibson bottom.
And this is why I want to start making my own instruments... sure then big name companies out there could do a good job, but this looks fantastic... you really put the effort and work into making this spectacular instrument that not only looks good but sounds amazing as well! I’ll be subscribed to see more 😁

Geoff Cowan is it because people dont play it left handed?
Concerning the build quality, I think that doing it a lot helps. :P

that fretboard radius looks insane. its like a baseball bat
Almost like a violin

"Weirdly suggestive sanding.." LOL-immediate like!

my god, what a beautiful instrument
6 струнный бас с приятным дизайном? НЕВЕРОЯТНО!
My new favorite bass,beautiful

You just get better with each build. Very nice.
Man, that's nice!
Excellent work
I love that crazy radius
When I see lots of saw dust while watching woodworking videos, I find myself blowing at my phone in hopes to seeing the satisfying sight of it flying away.
my favorite was watching my son when he was 5 or 6 try blowing the sawdust away repeatedly through a face shield.
LMBO! That's awesome!
Don't know how I missed this video work of art and tone supreme plus long scale violin style bass. Paul himself would love such a bass.
Every time I see one of your creations, they show leaps and bounds in your growth as a luthier. Incredible build and I hope to own one of your pieces in the future.
Maybe you should buy one, instead of stealing it, this time? Contact him, he has an email adress and, hold on, even a phone number.
Woah! That's a serious radius on the neck!
Stephen Becker
Thought the same
I really enjoy your commentary and I think that just a little bit of light jazz in the background would perfectly complement it. Nothing too loud or too spicy, just some very calm music. As always, beautiful craftsmanship!
Looks so professional yet homemade at the same time in the absolute best way possible. Amazing job as always Tim!
Geez mate you have got it Well and truly together,
I love every job you do..but that bass is so insane..
I would PROUDLY PAY THAT BASS! It is truly beautiful A instrument is better when it made with love.
Great video! It's been awesome being a part of this project and I can't wait to get my hands on it! I'll definitely be using it for years to come!

Beautiful Instrument....... a novel take on the old "Beatle Bass" look. You are a true craftsman.
YOU ARE AN INCREDIBLE ARTIST, BEAUTIFUL WORK
Truly a work of art, zero frets and stainless frets are the future
as an owner of a 6-string bass that I affectionately call The Beast (because it's a large green monster lol) I enjoyed this build a lot.
I. Need. This. Bass... Beautiful bass. I love it.
Words can't describe how much i loved this, everything is plain perfect.
Your guitars are getting reealllyyy good
man that radius is dummy round! it turned out so cool.
I would love to have one of these it's like a dream bass.
@PIZZA You aren't even real pizza you are from a microwave !
😉
This ... ugh. I WANT one! So beautiful 😍
I can make one for you... newperspectivesmusic.com
Superb craftsmanship Sir!!!
I love the hand shaped tool for pushing the wood
thanks! I make and sell those at www.newperspectivesmusic.com :)
That is one beautiful guitar.
It sort of ticks all my boxes: it's beautiful, it's semi-hollow and it sounds great. Don't you want to make one for yourself now Tim? Or keep this and make a new one for the client? :)
Haha! There is a small part of me that misses them when they go but I'm always on to the next thing and happy to know they are getting played.
what a beautiful six string bass
it's like you found a giant's guitar, and neck is WIDE and the sound DEEP
love it
I think this is my favorite out of all the builds I've watched on the channel. It's a beauty for sure.
That's beautiful

Nice bass! Finish is great too!
It’s insanely good..
Awesome work Tim! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
What a beautiful bass. Great job.
I'm not always super impressed by the guitars you make, which is fine because you're still learning and improving, but this one is really fantastic. Great work.
Most of them I make on this channel are experiments and concepts. This is both of those things but for a client, so the work goes in to it.
Tim, you have outdone yourself. Honestly one of the coolest instruments I have seen you make...
Nice video like the style of the bass. And I am a fan of the beatles.
Monster bass!! Nice!!
Good thinking on the 2 truss rod neck and carbon fiber rod. Love neck stability.
Paul McCartney's bass is a "Hofner". The company makes violins as well, which is where they got their iconic bass design from. They sound great.
But they aren’t commonly seen. I have come across numerous acoustic from Horner but the violin basses are hard to come by.
Very cool... Fine quality workmanship, with the experimenter's mindset. With woods being so DANG expensive, I love that you're sourcing the "extras"... it saves money and prevents waste. Super Cool project. This makes more MORE willing to experiment with stuff than I usually am.
Love this bass
Luv it Tim,this is one of your finest works imo
Wow! What an absolutely stunning thing! It inspires me to put all things aside and just do basses for living.
Love the tone
Beautifull bass, congratulations !
In few words:Congratulations for this wonderful work!!!
BRAVO! People admire USELESS celebrities showing off.. what? - Nothing. I admire people like You and also have some instruments "made" by myself. You are my guru Sir...
ps. Love its sound and I do love that radius as reminds me my beloved double bass!
11:24 when you just watched this out of your recommended videos and realized it's THAT DUDE AGAIN
That came out really nice. You might ask your client to film a little thing where he takes it thru it's paces so we can see her go.
I linked his band at the end of the video. He doesn't have it ye as I want to go through the setup one more time before shipping.
I will definitely be filming with it as soon as I get it!
Looks amazing!

This looks really good man.
You should make more of this Tim, this bass is utterly beautiful!
you order it, I'll make it for you! :)
Very nice. I wouldnt want a 6 for a bass only a four but this thing is beautiful
That looks as beautiful and sounds as good as those ultra high end Fodera basses. Nice job!

Wow sweet. Hope we get to see a guitar built like this.
Cool as always .
Amazing work 👍👍

Such a honor to watch you work! Made my afternoon . Thanks for sharing . Maybe I will build my Turner L B after all.
Wonderful looking and sounding bass. That mahogany is really nice stuff.

Good gracious that thing is a beast. Gorgeous, and killer sounding.
That's amazing!!
Fantastic!
