He is one of the greatest bassist ever, I remember going absolutely crazy when I was like 10 years old and listening to the Flecktones, man he is so good
I play bass for around 20 years now and use loop pedal for more than 10, but watching this guy makes me feel so exited like I just saw bass and loop for the first time in my life! Victor Wooten is a such a nice dude and absolutely a bass legend! Salute!
So the first time I watched this video I saw this comment, but since I've become more and more obsessed with him, I learned that he actually has a condition called focal dystonia, which makes it hard for him to use all his fingers. I'm no expert but here is the interview in which he discussed it.
Victor is the GOAT. Greatest bassist alive. His attitude and kind/calm demeanor is so relatable and appealing. Saw him at toads place 2006 in CT. Guy is truly unreal.
Lol I'm new and I purchased a sonicake matribox 1. I said the same thing. Lol this how I want to make my music as I learn and grow. Just need to learn to save
@@randallsnell5767 Yes. 😣 For me, it helps if I set a metronome, tap my foot along to the tempo, _then_ start the first loop. You can get a metronome click from a smartphone app, a website, or a musical keyboard. 💪
This is such a great lesson for all musicians ! I’m a keyboard player and I learned a ton from this. Rhythm, composition, harmony, mindset. What an awesome teacher.
Just ordered my first looper/drum machine. I've been playing for about a yr figure this would help step up my game. This stuff seems pretty intuitive when wooten explains it. This is what i was hoping i could do with it but wasn't sure. Also i just found out the sound of fadind in harmonics. Love that sound just never had any idea how to replicate.
This video convinced me to get one. I love it. I already have a fantastic jam going with it. It's showing me things about music I didn't even realize I could do. I have two separate loops on it that sound like they cross over and play each other. Now I want to see if I can replicate that or if it shall remain a happy accident.
Victor, I get to see you in Minneapolis next month. After seeing your videos and listening to your music for a while now, I'm more excited than ever to see you play live. You're a huge inspiration to my approach to music in general. I know you're gonna kick some ass with Cory Wong at that show.
I think Victor and Danish Pete should be in a band together. I think that would be awesome. The amount of great music that would come out of those two.
The Ed Sheeran Looper X has so much capability when I saw the initial videos, but my first question was, what would I even do with it? I might have bought one if I had seen this video at the same time!
I can personally recommend the Boss RC-30 - fantastic lopper for beginners too coz it has 2 pedals so much less tricky double tapping etc, just 1 pedal start, 1 pedal stop ✋️ and hold to delete. Plus a shit load of beats and effects and other more advance stuff, saves 99 loops on the permanent on the actual pedal itself, plus they can be like an hour long each I think. Just real fun which is co ol. Can record any beat in a loop space via laptop too.
Yah RC-30 really improved with all the drums/rhythms from on the RC-20. I got rid of my RC-20 cause there was only one terrible tempo beat. RC-30 can double as a looper and metronome for practice.
I’ve never seen a UA-cam personality like this guy. He’s the bob ross of bass.
He is one of the greatest bassist ever, I remember going absolutely crazy when I was like 10 years old and listening to the Flecktones, man he is so good
Spot on.
He's not a personality, he's a legit bass god and does a lot of teaching. Check out some live performances or lessons, he's cool as hell!
Look up classical thump. Thank me later.
For some reason I read Rob Boss at first😂

That harmonic was faded in so beautifully
I really appreciate him phrasing with one finger.
He's got more groove in that one finger than most people have in their whole bodies!
Yup, it shows anyone can do it! You make music with your heart, not with theatrics and unachievable levels of technical finesse.

m.ua-cam.com/video/nrYBUoGEFz8/v-deo.html fuck I forgot to include it
Figured he did that to keep it accessible lol

its been 30 seconds and i already love this guy
This man is legendary. He could hit any note any key and make it sound awesome
Great lesson, friend! I was blaming looper for being off beat but now I know it's just me 😂
Lol I'm new and I purchased a sonicake matribox 1. I said the same thing. Lol this how I want to make my music as I learn and grow. Just need to learn to save
I put the looper away because I could not make a seamless loop. Time to try again, after Victor's teachings.
Victor Wooten is one of my favorite people I’ve ever come across. Thank you victor for everything you are ❤
calmness and talent personified, my goodness, what a personality to go with those skills!
it's the way Victor explains stuff, so chill.
let it talk to you, what does it say.
Victor Wooten is THE LENGED
Maybe not surprisingly, but this is the best looper demo I have seen!
Check out Marc Rebillet how to funk in 2 minutes. Similar levels of virtuosity with a looper
Yes. 👍👍👍👍
As a computer music producer, this is so helpful and inspiring. Thank you for this, a golden find.
Thank you, Victor. 66 here, and playing around with my first looper.
It seems like the biggest challenge in making a seamless loop.

@@randallsnell5767 what helped me was to play a phrase and also the first note of the second repetition and then pressed loop.
Came for the technique, stayed for the vibe and great personality. 😊
This is the best looping tutorial ever. Teaching the true spirit of looping.
Dood, this whole video is one helluva vibe! 🙌🏼
Is literally impossible to not love Victor ❤️ true inspiration for every musician out there

The pedal never judges 😅 Vic is so transcendental 🙏
Victor is a national treasure! I noticed a Rubik’s cube in the background on the shelf too haha
it doesnt even matter what he says, Im relaxed and convinced just by hearing that man talk
Victor is the bass Goat!
Also interesting ideas on looping!
Victor opened up an entire new world for me musically! Thank you so much brother.
Victor, your playing makes me happy. Thanks for this video.
3:10 this.
Dr Victor Professor Wooten. Dr of Groove. Professor of Funk.
THANKYOU! 👍👍👍
Victor is indeed talented bass player and down-to-the-earth kind of person too. I am a big fan of him.
I'm sure I'm not the only one in here to say this, but a looper is and absolutely necessary tool for writing and development
Victor, you're such an amazing person! You convey joy and passion whatever you talk about. Thanks!
this is only one of many reasons why Victor Wooten is AMAZING!
The guy is a genius. They joy of creativity. Being able to open up to it and build upon it.
Victor is in a class of his very own.

I just started using a synth pedal last night. Which looping pedal did you get? I'm convinced it would be a good investment too.
I got Boss' Loop Station RC

@@doublea125 thanks for your input
great video, wish there was a camera on the pedal PiP
So inspirational 💫 thanks for sharing👍👍
What a great video on looping, what a wonderful man! Thanks so much!
Does anyone know what type of pedal Victor was using????
Victor, your the best. Hands down bro
Like his vibe. Makes sense.
Chillest groove ever.
This is the most relaxing 'tutorial' I've ever seen
Thank you, Victor. That's both informative and inspiring!
Very nice and laid back looping session.

Gold stuff over here, technique off the hook, thank you really enjoyed.
Another gem from Victor, what a master!
God bless the great teachers
Vic, you’re the best. Thanks for this video and the way you paced it for us.
My rc300 loop station has been great for building out song ideas! Awesome vid.
This guy is a gift from God! Always inspiring.
Him: my looping pedal never judges me
My pedal, looking at me after i messed up my 1087th loop: 👁️👄👁️
If you liked him, you can listen "Sinister Minister" by Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, and start loving his music...
Thank you sir 🙏, thank you Sam Ash
Any idea what sort of looper he is using?
I got the same question. I'm looking for a pedal so I can do what he did and separate my chorus from verse and delay certain parts of the loop.
Thank you so much for this posting. It is really inspiring, and save me so much time.
Thank you again, I really appreciate it.
Wow. I'm in love. This feels so good. Thank you !!!
He's the philosophy teacher of music.
Man, love your videos. Fun to listen and easy to follow. I'm a 6 strings player, but it doesn't matter. Your wisdom applies everywhere.
I’m gonna do this live so being able to rewatch this for the like 5th time is a god send lol
Victor Wooten, thank you so much for sharing your superior knowledge of this subject.
Great lesson
Great harmonies
Love the listening part and the options
Deep in the “WOODS”🎵🎶 ☯️

Brilliantly explained!
It's like looking at the mirror, don't blame the mirror. Well said!
Please, tell us which looping pedal you used on this video.
Thanks
Vic: you are the Bob Ross of bass! 🙏🏽
Does anyone know what pedal he his using?
I don’t know about in this video but I’ve seen him using a RC-300 many times. I’ve read that he also uses smaller boss loopers too.
That would have been a great bit of info to have been included....c'monnn, Vic! Spill the beans, haha
I swear to god every time I listen to this man I grow up a little bit
This man is a genius!
Another awesome lesson. What looper pedal are you using for this demo?
I'm wondering the same thing.
Can be Boss RC-300!
Anyone know what looper pedal he's using?? 😁
love this 🥰
U are jist amaizing man. Just like some people sing the phone book, you can play the phone book

If you close your eyes, all you can hear is Denzel Washington. 😂

"I kinda messed up"
Huh?!!! Sounded great to me. May I mess up like this all the time.
