Londoner here and I agree our tree lights in Trafalger square are pants compared to New York. The tree itself is a yearly gift from Norway.
Every year since 1947 a tree has been donated by Norway to London in gratitude for Britain's support for Norway during the Second World War.

If they catch you putting gifts under the tree, just say Santa was so busy this year he dropped them off and asked if we could be his helpers.

We always told our kids that Santa couldn’t be everywhere on Christmas so he dropped presents off during the week leading up to Christmas

Santa is real my youngest kids are twins and are now 15. Their older brother told them when they were young about 6 that Santa wasn't real. When they asked me I explained Santa is real, he lives in the kindness of people throughout Christmas. We'd had kindness shown to us many of years (my dad and my uncle understood money was an issue) so they gave us money to buy our children presents from Santa. And when we had money we did the same for people who were struggling. Unfortunately both my Dad and uncle have passed on now and we still struggle but we do the best we can, and always try and help others to show this is what Santa means and is! Merry Christmas 🎄

Hi! South American here! Where I'm from (Argentina) we celebrate pretty much like Lo did in her childhood. We have dinner, dance, laugh (some fight, lol). When midnight hits, we toast with family and friends, and then we go outside to watch the fireworks. Then we go back inside and Santa is already gone, and our gifts are under the tree, ready to be open!! Then the party goes on. Happy memories!!!
Miss those, now I celebrate by myself (well, with my dog, so not that lonely) and in the 25th I have lunch with family.
Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! God Bless all of you!!!!

Hey y'all 😊 Regarding real vs. artificial Christmas trees - someone I know who grew up in Macon, GA now has a HUGE tree in their parents' front yard that was the family's indoor Christmas tree when the kids were young...somehow the parents managed to take such good care of it while indoors, then planted it in the yard after Christmas, apparently knew how to take care of it really well, and now all these many years (I'd guess at least 50), they have the biggest, most beautiful tree that they decorate with many lights every Christmas!! How cool is that?! 🌲Of course, you have to live far enough down south to be able to do such a thing (don't know how much TLC it took to get it established & growing, but I imagine there was a lot). Merry Christmas to ALL you lovely Beeston peeps!! 🤶🎅❤💚

Regarding Santa, we were told his “spirit” is real. The “legend” of Santa Clause is all about giving and spreading love and generosity to all. Children accept this when they are old enough to understand. They won’t feel offended to know this truth.

My 7 year old grandson just cornered me and asked if Santa is real- “yes or no he says 😂. I refuse to ever tell him Santa is not real. I looked right in his eyes and said “yes - Santa is real. He is the magic of Christmas- BUT he is only real if you believe in him.”

💜❤️ When I was like 6. My parents decided we would go to Disney for Christmas. I told my mi didn’t believe any more before we left. (We live in Michigan) long story short…. We were packing up to go home and I asked my mom if Santa still went to our house even though we weren’t there.. Well since I didn’t believe my parents didn’t worry about having presents under the tree. But some how when we got home our house was decorated and the gifts were there. Good thing for great friends and a hide a key. I believed for two more years. 🎄🎄🎄

Myself and most of my generation went to church late Christmas Eve and then had late dinner and gathered for a party at our house. This is in Canada. We were permitted to open one present that night. Some of my friends did open all of their presents in the night before. There is no guarantee we will have snow for Christmas May times I have gone to church wearing shoes, not boots. Yes, I live in Canada 🇨🇦, however when you live on either Pacific coast or Atlantic Coast - the climates are a bit more temperate. Our major storms start between Christmas and New Years and of course after that expect snow until March.

I must be an oddball with families 😅 my husband’s side and my side all get together for the holidays. We switch between houses but thanksgiving , Christmas and Easter we all get together. Maybe it’s because I’m the oldest and had the first grandchild 😅 this includes everyone (in-laws of siblings too). It makes it easier on everyone because we don’t have to rush from here to there.

❤-continued from last post-❤ so with losing both my parents& my daughter so fast& I’m still in my 40’s I will say to keep the magic alive with the memories I’m left with from my parents from Xmas and for my daughter who not only loved Xmas as a child but also loved it even more having her own children! Ppl need to stop thinking it’s sone big lie everyone is teaching their kids to carry on! My hell it’s something Magical that not only do I have many memories of that early morning sneaking out to see what Santa brought( Santa didn’t wrap all our gifts instead he would display them out on our big couch one side was mine& other side my brothers and they had fancy bows and fancy candy canes in all the Xmas colors and altho it was dark with a hint of moonlight all I remember is how certain things would just sparkle ✨ & my parents didn’t use glitter or anything so it had to be part of the magic let alone our rooms were just feet from the main living room and yet we never heard them setting out these huge elaborate xmas’s nor did we ever see where all these presents were kept cuz as we got older we were snoopers and we might find 4-5 gifts and gifts hidden for others but never found our Xmas so it was super hard to find proof that it really was our parents as we got older so eventually we just gave up and then when me and my daughter would talk she said every Xmas was the best and that they were always so magically and she had a story for so many xmas’s that I had nothing to do with lol so she told me she understood that the parents buy the gifts and so on but she fully believes in the story of the magic of Xmas cuz it’s not about the money or tge gifts it’s about love and family and all being together and that is what really matters along with it being a day of celebration that Jesus was born/ or at least it’s the day we celebrate his bday and that she would carry forth the traditions of our family, even though she no longer on earth I know she is in the best place ever and is happy and watching over her children and with me and her sibling I just miss her so much especially her laugh and personality she could always make me laugh and she was one amazing mom and person and I will be reunited with her and my dad & mom one day when my time here is finished ❤ Happy Holidays to all!!! Squeeze your loved ones a little tighter& tell them you love them every time you see them cuz they will be gone before you know it and then that chance is taken away til you meet again. Sending everyone love and be safe out there ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ 41:13

My 8 year old still believes and I just let him know people believe in different things so people who don’t believe Santa doesn’t come to their houses. And when I do finally tell him I am going to tell him yes Santa is real but not in the way you think, he isn’t a man but an idea. It’s the thought of giving without getting the credit. Doing good things without someone knowing it’s you. Like us as parents give gifts to our kids saying they are from Santa.

    It’s called amphetamines.
The star who played Dorthy was prescribed them while on set apparently because they also were known for stunting development and they supposedly wanted to keep her looking youthful and alert while shooting. And supposedly there was a lot of issues filming which cause the filming to be dragged out for longer than normal.
I’m sure Ariana is on them too.
I thought she looked very thin when on the Voice and a little erratic and wondered if she was on them. A lot of Hollywood stars are from what I’ve heard. It’s normalized because it keeps you skinny/suppresses appetite and keeps you peppy/ talkative and alert on set.

A lot of ppl get upset and What it is, it’s against the Bible to lie and believe in magic not to mention putting something before Jesus on his own birthday. That’s the major issue. We shouldn’t lie and if I had to do it over I wouldn’t have ever told mine about Santa. To each their own tho. Merry Christmas to all

From Santa my husbands side never did it but my side did. I’m the only with with kids on my side so it’s not a super big thing right now but we still joke about it like oh I wonder what Santa is bringing this year. My kids are almost 3 and 1. I think we will just not make a huge deal about Santa being real. We will do stockings and presents. But we won’t say things will be specifically from Santa. And we watch movies or see lights that are Santa do my oldest knows who he is. But we won’t be like oh yeah Santa is bringing stuff. He’ll just be a character with Christmas like spider man. If my kids ask if he’s real in the future like when they start going to school I’ll probably share that he used to be a real person like Saint Nicolas but that he’s not like in the movies that bring gifts on Christmas Eve. But people like to have fun and pretend that he is real for Christmas

We always celebrated on Christmas Eve. That came in handy when I got married and my mother-in-law was adamant on Christmas Day morning breakfast. 🎄

Santa is the spirit of Christmas, so he is real. Jesus is the reason, but Santa is the commercial representative
