I feel like Maomao is unwittingly becoming the center of attention in the palace. For someone who wants nothing more than to fade into the background, she is on a path to be someone of substantial influence.
"it honestly hurt her to see people regard her from afar as if looking at a devil or monster" yet that's exactly how she regards Jinshi from afar. On the other hand, Jinshi apparently gets off on that.
Hey just wanted to say i've been loving your summaries. I would also like to add the thought that based on traditional historical evidence that eunuchs did not partake in military training. If Jinshi is training then it tell me he is not really a eunuch, but someone more important and a male that has been allowed into that part of the palace, meaning he has some connection to someone very high up. I should also note that i realize that historical fact could mean nothing for this story, but my guilt feeling from seeing the opening of episode 5 is that Jinshi is not who he is implied to be.
Yes, this is exactly what I'm imagining. There's a bunch of questions I need answers to regarding Jinshi but I don't want spoilers or anything, I look forward to seeing what's his deal. Happy that you're enjoying my reviews~ ❤️❤️❤️
@@TheChatteringMagpi I'm right there with you. I'm not going to read the manga or the light novel until the season is over with. my wife and I and always looking forward to the next episode and I'm sure this is going to be an anime I'll watch many times over.
So what I understand about the men who work in the rear palace. (History not story) is that they were there as guards, manual labor, minor scholars. So they could be very physically fit. However, they were not trained in swordcraft which Jinshi very clearly is. (Don't want people getting any ideas and taking revenge on royalty) so I theorize the Jinshi is in no way normal. What that means... *shrugs*
I cannot recommend strongly enough getting the manga and light novels, the series just keeps getting better. And while there is pretty strong connections between the media, there is a lot of wonderful details and even story arc in these other forms. The other characters introduced and there are a lot of them are wonderful quirky and surprising.
Yes! It sucks that she's the only truly trained person around that can tend to the women there, but I am glad that she's passionate about her work and cares for her patient regardless of whether or not she's a rival to her lady. Maomao is best girl ❤️❤️❤️
Hi! I loved these episodes and your content. But I think it’s more like jin sure then jin Shi. Since in Chinese shi makes the sure sound and xi makes the shee sound. I may be wrong tho. Loved the recap.
it becomes clear that Jinshi has feelings as he reacts REALLLLY bad to her going away with another man as a chaperone - his imagination runs wild as she tells how her chaperone got to go with her. - I hope they don't tone down his cup breaking reaction to her words
I kept confusing myself wondering when a certain event would occur or which of two events was going to be in episode 5. Since they clearly aren’t happening in the next episode (which is going to be fun), I am clearly remembering the order of things wrong. Regardless, I am looking forward to the next episode.
I've not read the manga nor the LN, I'm just an anime watcher (for now) so this one is just my hypothesis. I think that Jinshi is some kind of a prince (aka the emperor little brother) not an eunuch and I think that the relation between him and Maomao will improve very much. Her rejection will just push him to have more and more interest in her and maybe at the end she will understand that he is not some shallow womanizer but someone who can be trusted.
I have watched the sub version and I usually do not watch the dub version but this sounds like it is done well in the last clips. So I will rewatch the dub version. I have been reading the Manga but haven't read the web novel does the web novel have good perspective?

I hope she uses that to her advantage
Oh, I can't wait to see how far she goes!!!
Sounds like Ferdinand and Myne from Ascendance of a Bookworm
Cream rises to the top, although like Myne the top is status obsessed.
@@storyjumper It is just that in this case Jinshi is Myne :)
"it honestly hurt her to see people regard her from afar as if looking at a devil or monster" yet that's exactly how she regards Jinshi from afar. On the other hand, Jinshi apparently gets off on that.
Hahaha excellent point!!!
They are just jelous that she is in close proximity to Jinshi.

I love how there is always comments questioning Jinshi’s intimate anatomy.
Ep 6 hints that he might be related to the emperor!❤
The anime only scenes were fantastic. When her charge doted on her in gratitude as Maomao slept
Yes!! 🤧
that scene was so tender - it was 'thank you for saving my life. Now I will take care of you'
I love this manga so much I'm so happy it got an anime and that the anime did it justice.
Everyone else: WE LOVE FRIEREN !!!!!
Magpie: Never heard of it, but Apothecary Diaries is awesome!
I figured you'd like this series. Despite it's lack of libraries and printing presses it certainly gives off a "Bookworm-type" vibe.
It's a lovely series!!!!
Those ladies waiting should be glad that they still have their heads on🤦♂️
Jinshi best moment flipping mao-mao from her own words🤣🤣🤣
Can't stop imagining mao mao as a curious cat in a lot of the scenes XD
9:26 this part of the anime is one of the scene I been waiting for and it was delivered in deluxe 😍👍

I hope you’re happy Magpi, I’m halfway through volume 2 right now.
Im not happy. I'm overjoyed.❤️❤️❤️
One observation, like Bookworm story there are a lot of things early in series coming forward. So it is well worthwhile to pay attention to details.
Noted!!! 😊
I am reading the light novel and new events makes me see the convalescence of Lady Lihue in a whole new way.
Thanks for introducing me to this show it's a fun watch. Maybe at the end of the season you can talk about if light novel or manga is worth picking up

MaoMao's rescue of Consort LiHua earns her medical reputation among the initial unbelievers of the Imperial Palace parallel to the JinShi

The anti-rozemyne aka a other gremlin.
oh yeah Jinshi is 5 ft 11 and Mao Mao is 5 foot even
You cud change the music
Jinshi X Rozemyne!!!!!
What?! Hahahaahahah
In that vein then High Priest Ferdinand X Maomao?
They could be eccentrics together
Not to mention all that nasty poison that doesn’t taste good to maomao will be like wow
