    Would love a more thorough explanation of how you did the corner trim if you have time. That stuff is expensive at the big box stores.

    JUst started building boxes for the base of my porch and those multi tools are life savers for the base and upper trim work.

    Great video! I have hollow boxes in our front porch that is not touching the slab. I caulked around it. Now im not sure if i did the right thing. Would that trap moisture and lead to mold growth?

    What kind of wood did you use for the beams ? I want to do this my self just want to pick the right wood cause cedar is to expensive for my budget.

    • @TheReformationWoodshop
      @TheReformationWoodshop  4 дні тому

      Cedar is a good option but you’re right it can be pricey. In this video, I got treated pine from lowes and it worked great

      I think we did Early American stain and I can’t remember off the top of my head the sealer.

    Did you make the corner molding from a 2x4 or 2x6 and just out the L shape? How many can you get from one board? Thanks

    • @scott8351
      @scott8351 Рік тому

      Actually I tihnk I figured it out, 2x8 should allow for 4 corner moldings = 1 column. I have some left over white oak flooring though i might just use and make my own with that. The wood from the home centers can be a mess unless you carefully pick it out and know what to look for. I like your channel, thank you.

    Did you make the box that went over the column or is that something you bought premade?

    • @TheReformationWoodshop
      @TheReformationWoodshop  2 роки тому

      I made it. I cut the boards the length of the existing supports plus a little on each side so that I could add miters that would fit nicely into each other.

    I appreciate the effort of putting this out there but basically, it's the problem I see with most "flip" houses. Lipstick on a pig still makes it a pig. You just painted it and added some non-functional items but left the weeds growing through the cracks and all around the porch while leaving a huge split in the slab right as you walk up. I'd never buy it or pay a big price to rent it. Too many unseen problems.
