Hi Kiki so happy to see your videos. Now that I heard you talk about you liking your time for makeup; I am the same, make up relaxes me so much is incredible. When Covid hit I started working from home, then after that I retired at 62 because of everything that what happening. When I was working from home I stopped my makeup completely and you can imagine after retiring zero! Well I started feeling depressed and even though I was babysitting my granddaughter I still felt down. I turned 64 last year in October, I stopped watching all the makeup channels and it was even worse. I said to myself I’m giving something I love! Why because I’m older? Because I retired? and I said, that’s it stop this and now I’m doing my makeup in the morning even if I’m going to my daughter’s house to babysit. I feel so much better! I subscribed to all the Beauty channels again and I’m so much enjoying my makeup, even if is something lighter and not an office look. Sorry for all my rambling I just know you love makeup just like me. My youth was mid 70’s DISCO 🕺time, 80’s & 90’s and all the way through 2019. 😊❤ and now I’m not going to stop.
100% agree - retirement is not a reason to stop doing for yourself! I'm so glad to hear, but not surprised at all, that you're feeling more yourself having gotten back into the makeup grove!
Your brow doesn’t look worse for the ware! Yes, lipstick definitely brings out the blush. I always wear lip color even if I don’t wear any other makeup. It alone brightens my face. And somehow my eyes as well. Love the look today! I appreciate that your videos are not reality shows. I stopped following those who have a lot of drama and chaos. They have fans for that reason I guess, but it’s a downer for me. Rather have an escape with pure positivity that will make me look and feel my best!
I also love the lipstick with nothing else look! I used to do that a lot, but now that I have so much redness, it's concealer, foundation and lipstick with nothing else! I'm so glad you enjoyed this kind of video, a little more talk, I left in most of my pauses and thinking moments and was hopeful that people might find it relaxing! xo

You say things I would say, especially when it’s a little off color. 😉 And when you are searching how to express yourself and say “…..words….” I always go…”yeah, right???” btw - we have friends in Huntington Beach and zoom weekly. When your region had non-stop rain I asked if the ark had arrived yet. Ha! We had the atmospheric river in the PacNorth too and bracing for several days of rain again beginning tomorrow. Yes, this too will pass and Spring will soon be here!
After Covid.& lockdown , I felt the whole world became noisy and louder, even my dogs are more startled by noise .. glad you’re back ❤

Oh yes, I love my make up time. Face, hair and fragrance before I go out the door. Doesn't have to be fancy and I find it very relaxing and sets me up for the day ahead cause who knows what t that will bring.
Of course, when it rains, it POURS 😢. Life’s checks and balances, but we will prevail. Plus you always prevail by looking so good 😊

mixing cream products in their pans is probably not a smart thing to do - lol. If I was a MUA - I'd probably use a tool to scrape a little color from both and mix on my hand...
I love my makeup time too. I wear makeup every day - maybe the occasional Saturday I go bare-faced. But I just love it so much. It's relaxing, a creative outlet and just fun! I use mostly drugstore/affordable products, but still been enjoying your videos. I'm in the midwest and we've been having lovely spring-like weather. Such a blessing as we are normally below freezing and often snowy this time of the year.
I agree - emphasis one feature, maybe two depending on the shade but three is way too crazy, no very elegant. I usually emphasize my eyes, and then downplay the cheeks and lips.
I enjoy the chat extra bits about the makeup. It feels calming and it's nice to hear the extra info. Edited to add: it was so interesting when you pointed out how the blush color stood out better after applying the lip. Plus, that lip color is so pretty on you.

❤🎉 Yay we're on the same page, sorta lol. I do have yellow skin so I like the Hourglass powders that come in my couple palettes. But I also love playing with eyeshadow looks using my VISEART palettes -- and zero mascara!! It just looks too goofy and over the top using mascara with a more elaborate eyeshadow look...? 🤔

So good to see you Kiki! That foundation is so beautiful I finally bought it a couple of months ago and now it’s all I want to use. It’s funny you talk about no insulation in CA, I’m in upstate NY, my house is 100 years old. I just redid my bathroom and found it had zero insulation on an exterior wall. I guess they didn’t think about that stuff back then.

FYI-I was at Sephora the other day. There was a Makeup Forever rep. there-he confirmed the reboot has been discontinued. It's been replaced with the new HD Glow foundation. I got a sample-got better coverage using a primer but still seemed to be less coverage than the reboot. I will not be purchasing the new one.

You look stunning Kiki. The word for you were looking for was stud! The vertical wood under drywall. I’m going to sound like a snob, but I wish the Danessa Myricks palette wasn’t made in China. If it was made in the US or Italy, etc. I would have been willing to pay $15-20 more and would have purchased. If I’m not mistaken her entire line is made in China. Which makes me sad because the tones in that palette are glorious.
I feel the same way about paying luxury prices for something made in China. I refuse to buy Huda also for that reason.

Hi Kiki, i always notice how youthful your hands look. Im 57 years old that is consistent with my skincare and happy with my results on my face but my hands look older than my face. I take all my skincare and put on my hands along with sunscreen and it doesnt help. I have tried hand creams as well. Whats your secret?
I think it's luck more than anything else. I used to garden like crazy and never wore gloves. I do also put whatever is left from my face on my hands but I know it doesn't last long. If you use a Retin-A product, try including your hands in that at night and during the day, maybe a Maelove Midnight Serum. That formula is photostable and on step away from Retin-A
