What engine is in the tigercat and how well is it on fuel? Also, how's customer support and parts availability? Looking for a machine now and it's between ponsse and tigercat. I know the Mercedes engines are great on the ponsse and parts are readily available and customer service is great, not sure on the tigercat machines.

It’s a FPT 6.7, lots of power and very easy on fuel. 4.8-5 gallons per hour running hard. So far support has been phenomenal.

The Tigercat carrier is in a class of it’s own. It’s way better built and much easier to service than any of the European built machines.

@@Terry_Mann Looks like you really got burned by Ponsse. What happened?

@@td6460 Not at all! Ponsse has been a great company that we’ve had a strong relationship with for the last 20 years. We currently have 4 Ponsse Buffalo forwarders and two Ponsse Ergo harvesters. And soon to have another tigercat with a Ponsse head. This 1165 is huts a better designed machine for extreme terrain and tethered applications.

@@Terry_Mann Interesting. Just thought that statement was pretty aggressive. Is the Ergo with the Synchrowinch not an option? You should make more videos.

@@td6460 I stand by that statement, That 1165 is in a class of its own. The power of a bear in the size of an ergo, with the leveling capabilities of a leveling track machine, and with 38’ of reach it’ll still hold the H8 head up. There is nothing else out there that competes with it at this point. The ergo has been a great machine but on steep ground the leveling cab with continuous rotation is a game changer. The herzogg winch from Ponsse works ok, but we use Ecoforst Twinches, they pull much harder and have a lot more flexibility not being dedicated to just one machine.
