@Ben Preist i agree but unfortunately the indonesian archipelago’s forests are the most fragmented of all so captive breeding programmes are necessary for their survival. i feel we owe it to them to at least try and subsidise their numbers

I've seen a documentary of a male tiger raising his two daughters after their mother died. He turned away other mating partners because of the chance of the females attacking his daughters. Unfortunately, they were too close to farmland and the humans sent the daughters in a more suitable place when they got old enough. It was bittersweet. They had to tranquilize the dad and he woke up calling for them.

He never missed a single football game or karate practice and he got each of them a car when they turned 16. They went to university and got great careers and now are happily married. Actually male tigers do take care of their offspring in the wild. It happened in India with wild Royal Bengal Tigers in the past.
A male Bengal Tiger called "Zalim" raised his daughters after their mother died. He infact used to expel other male tigers for his daughters safety which is a shocking revelation to the wild life experts.
He even used to stay away from other female tigers fearing they might hurt his daughters. That much committed he was to his parenting.
He used to teach them hunting & hunt on his own & shared his kills with his cubs when they were 3 months old. Those cubs used to follow their dad so cutely🥰
He raised them to their adulthood & one day forest officials transferred his daughters to other reserve thinking other male tigers would hurt them & for that Zalim had to be tranquilized😡
Sadly after he woke up, he called for his cubs to no use😭
He was named Zalim(Tyrant/cruel) because he was very aggressive dominant male Tiger who was not fond of human interaction & safari vehicles as he used to charge at them. He died in a territorial fight at the age of 15. Lived like a king all his prime👑🐯💪
But a very ironic father for the name he was given (Zalim)

Most mammals are a single mother society. The dad barely cares, in fact besides some rare kind gestures the dads couldn't care less about raising the cubs. They maul tiger cubs that are not theirs. Oth most human dads are involved and are not going to maul another male's offspring because it's competition or something. In fact, human males are willing to raise another's offspring. Why would you compare the two it makes zero sense unless you have Disney's idea of how animals behave.
Let's just enjoy a rare sight and leave humans out of it.

I love when the father animals get a little *hands on* with parenting the offspring, especially if it's not always natural. Saw a video of a stallion allowed in the pasture with his foal and the mother (I think another mare was there). He was curious about the foal and got mad when the mares blocked him from seeing it. He actually encourage the to break away from them and run with him for a few moments.

When the narrator said “he’s just a little cautious concerning what moms about to do”, she was making my point.
It’s not a question of “could kill”
He certainly has the physical ability but she wouldn’t back down and he might get injured cuz she’s a tiger too.
