Screens don't actually damage your eyes, that theory has been debunked for a while, even the blue light from screens doesn't it just messes with your sleep cycle. The reason a lot of people need glasses is just because its a common biological condition, not because of looking at screens. It can cause temporary eye fatique though.
I'm also on the tablet-reading-train, after having both a Kindle and a Kobo e-reader. But a cheap Android tablet is just such a better experience. It's faster, it's in color (especially the covers!) and you can choose between different reading apps. Also, I LOVE the horizontal 2-page-view you can get on a 10-inch tablet! Just like reading a real book. I put on a matte screen protector on my Huawei tablet, and it helps with glare. Otherwise, I never really had any issues with eye strain. And the battery life is pretty good if you disable Wi-Fi and other stuff. I can easily read 3-5 books per charge.
😅I have a HARD TIME rationalizing purchasing a Kindle, since I already have an Amazon Fire 8! Thank you for letting me know, I'm not the ONLY ONE who thinks LIKE YOU! -San Francisco fan girl
iPad is my Kindle . Moreover I had 7th gen PW which is way tooo slow and crashes often opening big book /collections ... I prefer iPad with blue light filter...
Honestly this is such a good idea, plus it has more features for a more affordable price. I have a kindle basic already that I use a lot, but I like the idea of maybe getting a fire tablet as a backup. And for those that want to try e-reading I think this would be a great starting point since you get access to the kindle library (on a bigger screen than a mobile phone), kindle unlimited, and you can still use Libby to borrow books from libraries. Great video!
I love having a tablet for the variety of things you can do with them. At the time I wanted it as a back up in case my laptop crashed. I have two Kindles and love them as well. Reading long enough on any device will make my eyes tired, but less so on the Kindle. I love their light compact size, but the best feature for me is their battery life. I can read on and off for a few days without having to recharge them. During a days long power outtage I was having to recharge my tablet when reading a book about every 8 hours. With a Kindle I will likely not have to worry about running out of battery before power is restored. However if I am reading a magazine I do prefer to use a tablet.

I just bought a kindle fire and I love it so much more than my paperwhite!!! I got the fire to read books from cloud library on as well as other things and it is amazing!! Thanks for the video!
I bought the small Kindle and regret it. It's too small for a full page to fit, only black and white. I read on my Fire 10 which is too big for holding and reading. Your video helped me make a decision to buy the Fire 8 HD. Thanks.
Yeah I was doubting getting this to be fair, but glad I did. Because sadly I can’t download books on my iPhone/iPad/Mac. Same goes for Android devices.
Im getting this exact tablet for Mother's day. I like the color of the book covers which is why I chose the tablet than the Kindle paperwhite. Im getting a blue light filter and anti glare screen protector so it's better on my eyes.
theyre both kindles, one is a kindle paper white(basically just reader), other is a kindle fire(series of these with diff features) but both are kindles :O
You are the second person ever I've seen online who prefers to read on an LCD screen. That's okay. I just want to tell you that there are types of eink readers not of the Kindle brand that are both 10 inch and colour. They cost about 400 us dollars though. I fully support your decision. The only baffling thing about your video is that you like scrolling. In my humble opinion, you associate the scrolling with a kind of nostalgia. Have a great end to the year.
I hate how glitchy kindle paperwhite is. Its very frustrating. Thinking about buying fire tablet just for reading. Plus i think i can encourage my child to read more on colored books than just plain black and white
All these Tiktok PhDs comment on anything & everything. For 30-45 min, why would anyone buy an overpriced B&W Kindle, this color one is better /cheaper & more versatile. Yes, I too love the B&W Kindle, but its for those Kindle reading PhDs who complete 2 books every 3 days & update their status on those book status websites, & its definitely not you !

that’s amazing !!! i’m glad to see other people on the tablet train :)
If you put it in airplane mode when you aren’t using it, the battery will last longer.

I like the way you can turn pages with volume keys on a fire tablet too. My downside is the glarey screen.

You can put anti-glare screen protector.
Definitely try an anti-glare screen protector !
Thanks Taylor for your opinion. I think fire tablet is better option for reading , unless someone reading books all the time.

I have the same one and pink is my favorite color so I love it. I still kinda want a e-reader I might get one on Black Friday we’ll see
They used to be called Kindle fire tablets when they first came out.
that’s cool ! i didn’t know that
Super helpful video! Just bought mine (in pink too)!
I’m getting a pink one too to download the Bible NIV app and take to church instead of my bible and look at passages faster when pastor is talking! ❤

oh wow i’m glad it helped you!!
Honestly I would love to have both
I have the exact same! Mines 64 GB + 1 TB Card + 30TB external memory..😁 I love mine!!😍
Yeah I was doubting getting this to be fair, but glad I did. Because sadly I can’t download books on my iPhone/iPad/Mac. Same goes for Android devices.
dude i love the tablet! if i read more i’d invest in one too (i love your background with the ghosts!)

It's on for 99 for the 32gb version or 109 for the 64gb version right now. (cdn amazon)
I have both. Reading on an actual phone or tablet was ruining my eyes and tiring them out.
Thanks 😊😊😊 great idea
I thought bout getting the pink Fire 7 but i have an iPad mini 5th gen. My hd 8 was to heavy and slippery . Does anyone else have the same experience?
I started off with a fire HD 10 but it was way too heavy so I switched to the HD 8 and it’s perfect! I put a strap on it to make it easier to hold.
If I may, what is the key in your necklace about?
theyre both kindles, one is a kindle paper white(basically just reader), other is a kindle fire(series of these with diff features) but both are kindles :O
Also, it’s nice to be able to read in colour. I mean I know Kobo do colour, but nothing as bright as a tablet.

i agree !
Isn't Amazon Fire same as any other Android tablet out there?
For the Fire tablet, is there still an option to tap to turn the page?
yes ! it is default like that
Omg you are so cute
Basic Kindle has less eye strain for me.
that’s fair
