- June 4, 1997. Part 2. AJ carries Emily into GH. Alan gets a psychiatrist to see her. The diagnosis is that she's withdrawn as a way to protect herself. She might snap out of it by herself. The Quartermaines and Brenda rally around her. Jason is really angry and takes it out on Rebecca the ditz. He can't figure out why she would lie for Dorman again.

RIP Shell Kepler. She was absolutely HILARIOUS as Amy Vining. She is sorely missed.
This was one of the best storylines of the 90s. Love how it involves the Q's and the mob, and the hospital. This was balance.
Actually this storyline was in my top three of all time. This, left handed boy/summer on the run and Joe Scully reaping havoc.
They truly ruined Aj’s character, he may have been a drunk but he wasn’t a bad guy he loved his family

I miss this. The writers actually let Jason reform a relationship with his family, before Guza took over and ruined it again.
Camille McKenzie agreed. He’s formed a relationship with Monica now, but all the progress he made with everyone in 1997 was pretty much non existent for a while. I hated that Emily died. I liked Amber as the actress and that Jason got to play that role of brother with her.
Amber was wonderful as Emily. So talented singing too. Maybe inherited some from her Dad Rusty. Maurice was so cute!
Actually, Amber originated the role in 1995. She left it in 2000 (?) and Natalia Livingston took over a couple years later...or something like that. I'm not entirely sure of the timeline.
Amber left in 2001 and Natalia Livingston took over in April 2003.

You are quite correct. Amber Tamblyn did originate Emily, and Natalia Livingston took over; and she also played Emily's twin sister.
Is interesting because in the beginning their roles were reversed Sonny brought Jason back from the brink and making emotion driven decisions where later it was Jason that brought Sonny from the brink.
I love Sean Kanan's AJ and not to mention he was gorgeous. If he was able to stay on as AJ the choice between AJ and Jason would have been a fair fight.
