Matt is John and it's a shame he doesn't continue in the role. He was the reason I gave Legends of Tomorrow another chance. I love this character Constantin played by Matt, it broke my heart a bit that we don't see him in the role anymore. Matt as John...pleas come back to us. And thank you for your work on this video, it is amsing
Matt Ryan is definitely one of those actors born to play a specific role. I too started watching LoT when I heard he was going to reprice his role as Constantine.
I know, right? I still miss this show.. :'( You should watch the Justice League Dark the animated movie. Matt Ryan voiced Constantine. It's a very good movie ;)
WOW very nice vid !!!!! you captured the essence of that show in a few minutes, your editing is amazing, i loved constantine the second he showed up on arrow (i don't know much about comics i'll be honest, but that for me has been the most exciting arrow episode in a looooooong while for me) then when i watched his show last month i loved it even more, seriously who's mad enough to put a new show on a friday then cancel them because 2 million in the worst time slot ever isn't enough apparently????? i'll start making edits as well, this show deserves better than to be forgotten
also i just read your description and if it isn't exactly what happened to me as well, for the first time i started reading comics, i'm on issue 21 and i'm so hooked, how can i finish 300 now !!!!! makes me even more bitter so many stories won't be explored on tv (when a certain other show i won't name that is barely watchable anymore would probably outlive us all)
+KOriginal Addict Thank you, I'm really glad you liked it! I feel exactly the same..I had never read a comic book before, but Hellblazer really got me in to it. It's such shame NBC canceled the show so soon... It had so much potential, so many cool storylines they could have covered... When I found out it only lasted one season and no other network was interested in picking it up, I was like "why can't they just finally put an end to some other shows and pick up Constantine?" I really love the comic, but I think the show had a different vibe somehow. Maybe it's because of Matt Ryan. He was perfect for Constantine.
you're welcome, definitively rayan's acting and presence, but also it feels like in the show they made john kinda nicer, and developped the side characters further, especially zed (who's very well written) and chas, in the comics he was kinda using / manipulating him , but in the show he genuinely loves his friend, idk yeah especially for cw, i feel like if spn ended when it should have on s9 (perfect time to wrap up, even if swan song was too perfect of an ending to add anything) constantine would've had far more chance to get picked up, especially when one of the arguments that left people not trying it out because "it's too much like spn" which yeah kinda is but the source material existed like 30 years ago so it's the other way around really rayan was beyond perfect, and while yeah it's nice we have an animated thing, his talent shouldn't go to waste, tvd ended there's a free spot already, to will end soon too (they're on fridays for 2 years and have 0.9 million sometimes lower, but 2 was not enough for nbc) they could if they want, but they have a never ending show with the same genre airing the day before, not to mention whatever copyright problems they have, i feel like it's in our hands a bit too, like we need to hype this animated series in whatever way we can, twitter tumblr edits, we have a slight chance, spn has an extremely pointless spinn off project this year just because a bunch of people were loud enough (even tho the characters for me are all not interesting enough at all, and so far there's no sign it'd ever offer anything new) it's not impossible but it's very very far i hope we can at least bargain for a midseason slot, 13 eps per season like the 100 idk (ssorry for my looooong rambling, i'm just happy i could discuss one of my fav shows with someone as it's rare to find someone who likes it too)
+KOriginal Addict I know.. Whenever I mention Constantine to people they either never heard of it or they've heard of the Keanu Reeves movie (good movie truth be told, but I don't think Reeves was the best choice for Constantine) I loved the supporting characters too. Zed was much better in the show. She was a fully fleshed out character with a significant role to the whole story and not just a single story arc. I felt like we didn't get to see much of her in Hellblazer. She was gone too soon. Also Chas in the comic was just kind of there whenever John needed a ride. I felt like he wasn't really an actual character, just a resource for John. I enjoyed Papa Midnight as well. I loved the frenemies dynamic he had with John. About Supernatural, you're quite right. Eric Kripke is a fan of Hellblazer. He even based Castiel's outfit on John's. Perhaps he was also influenced by the story as well. Honestly I don't mind if the two shows follow the same formula. I started watching spn years ago and I still like it (not as much as the first five seasons of course, but still). Why shouldn't I also love another show so similar to spn? Hell, a show similar to spn with an awesome protagonist/cast and great storylines? I thought I was on heaven. Until I found out how sort lived it was that is... Let's hope that they still have some further plans for the show on cw if the animated one is successful. I don't think they would even bother otherwise. (I honestly don't think I'm gonna watch the spn spin off. I don't see how they can manage to make an original story. We just have seen too much of it. The main show it's fine, but a show without the main squad and the usual massive scale disasters... I think it's just gonna be a whole season of stand alone episodes like the filler episodes on spn)
haven''t watched the movie, but a lot of people don't know about it unless they either watched arrow or knew about it because they were already interested in the comics, plus some people who came from nbc ofc, YEAH exactly all that, the show explored them all with more in depth yup, some aspects of dean (especially s3) are heavily taken from john, you have a point, it's because i'm a big fan of the occult/supernatural genre that i was interested in both, spn has been my all time fav show since i was 7, but as a cas stan the show brought me way too much bias and pain through the unnecessary seasons, spn was somewhat still decent despite the writers being hellbent on destroying cas, writing him as ooc as possible, treat him (misha too) horribly, take away his coat, add in bad make up, to lessen him in the audience eye, but by s10 you can feel how spn is just milking it out and has nothing more to offer anymore, don't get me started on the character butchering dean was subjected to as well by s6 just to "make people dislike destiel" (i don't even like that ship cas deserves better) seriously? the dean i loved on s3 would be horrified to see what he turned into with how he treats his" friend", better for it to end now then be ruined further, and dabb is doing an even worse job than anyone else but yeah, it's not a "either or" situation but constantine is fresh, unexplored, as a different approach on the matter, and what i love most about it, the lead isn't overglorified, the narrative isn't worshipping him all the time, bringing down everyone while doing so (no one told zed that "you help but john is the real hero") and the narrative isn't on his side ALL THE TIME like with spn "you're saving the world but dean doesn't care so you're a villain" mentality, but some people unfortunately don't think like us, i was merely speculating that the network may be afraid to have both at the same time hahaha i don't think i'll bother with spn itself, much less the least relevant/characters with the least influence on the story, there was only one character spinn off worthy and it was cas but they were too petty to allow misha any success, so they wanted to fire him, but were obliged to keep him then sent on destroying his character to never have any similar spotlight he used to have (sorry for the negativity, i'm a bitter cas girl ;) ) but you're right, they wouldnt bother with the animated series if we didn't stand a chance, they know a lot of people wish for a pick up, for a cancelled show enough people are still talking about it holding up hope, with the right method we could make it ;)
The show got cancelled after the first season unfortunately. Matt Ryan reprised his role on legends of tomorrow but it's not as good as the original show in my opinion
This show is just insane... I've watched it over 8 times... And will watch it over and over...
So very few episodes unfortunately
I’m glad that the Arrowverse kind of continued his story but unfortunately they didn’t also bring Zed and Chaz
@@TheChickenlittle11 true... I've really wanted Zed and Chaz to be in the show but yeah.. they also continued it in Legends of Tomorrow.
Cool video. Song choice fits well and good editing. Nice work. 👍

Such a beautiful creation. Thank you!
I too have started reading his comics. They're so much fun.
yay! cool video. NEED MORE CONSTANTINE, NEED MORE MATT as JOHN!
I know, right? I still miss this show.. :'(

its coming back
he is on this season of legends of tomorrow and has guest appearances on past seasons of arrow .
Fluffing beautifully done.
Nice! This was a great series, you captured it perfectly.
