I have a 500 20 gauge from back in the mid to late '80s from Walmart for $150 wood furniture. Its sickening how prices have gone insane on guns today. Lately looking at getting a Mossberg cruiser 20 gauge and swapping out the pistol grip for a fixed stock. I run 20 gauge not 12. Less recoil and only a little less shot but quicker between shot sight recovery and still does the job. Slightly higher tube capacity. It runs faster than a 12 gauge. I don't need a 12 gauge. Thanks for sharing.
I met a man at my gun store a few years back and he told me the same exact thing. I never shot a 20 gauge but he told me 20 gauge was really the better route for HD
Let your mom have the 500 and level up to the 590a1
