I'm a Chef so i use a lot of pans. Cast iron is the mist durable metal you can find so you can use any utensil. It is ok to scrape on it.

I was going to say that my grandmother used to clean her cast iron frying pan with water and steel wool pad (NO SOAP).

Would you believe me if I tell you that my local Costco had this IP dutch oven like 4 months ago for just $49.97? Looks like they were on clearance. That stew deserves a Guinness world scrumptious record😂😂

Bought it yesterday. Glad I read the instructions; I would have put the ice in first! Perfect for me on the go - a quick drink before leaving the house without the major clean-up with the juicer or blender; I get to use it more than once a day because of that. Glad I bought it. I was very leary.

I'm trying to decide between this and the ninja possible cooker. Which one would you say is the better cooker?
Great question, there’s also the possible cooker pro. For me, and obviously I’m lucky to have the pick of the litter cause we buy all these, I choose the instant. I use it all the time. Marc

On Amazon I just bought this Instapot Dutch Oven in green for $114! I’d love to see a bread recipe in this sucker. Anyways I bought this because I needed a slow cooker that would work better than the 6 qt Instapot. The slow cook feature with the regular Instapot is horrible, this Dutch oven gives me a great slow cooker, searer, and Dutch oven. I would’ve gone with the Ninja but it’s too big. I wouldn’t use it often enough to be worth the expense sadly as that one I really wanted but Ninja doesn’t offer size variations but I’m so stoked to use my new Instapot Dutch Oven in green

It's perfectly fine to use metal in a cast iron pan. That is a MAJOR feature of vast iron; you can use metal utensils and vigorously.

This is enamel coated cast iron. Not cast iron. The coating can chip if metal utensils are used.
Would you rather have this or an instant pot pro?
Well, this is a slow cooker / Dutch oven. The instant pot pro is a pressure cooker etc. So hard to compare. Marc
I can say after loving and using my original Instapot it is horrible at slow cooking! Absolutely sucks, I wasted an afternoon hoping mine would heat up enough and evenly slow cook but it was barely warm after hrs of messing with it. Can’t wait to get my green Instapot Dutch Oven
@jewdd1989 make sure you are not on the keep warm setting. It is significantly lower heat then slow cooking. And it can be confusing on the control panel. Just a thought. Marc
Full cast iron…yes to metal. If it’s cast iron coated with a non stick or enamel…probably not.

I was cringing every time you got a spoon or spatula and were hitting on the edge of that beautiful pot. With enamel cast iron you can chip the edges. I would recommend not doing that with any pot or pan. There are ways to avoid that by using your hand or silicone protection.
