my original garmin was the 2600....about 1300 bux in 2003, just trashed it but it served me well for over a decade. couldn't work pizza delivery without it.
With the HD traffic receiver you can get live traffic and weather without having to always use Bluetooth and use up your battery on the phone. I have the Drivesmart 61 version and I installed custom cars for this thing.. new and old camaros, corvettes, Belair, chargers, police cars and more, you can find how to install them online.
Do you have to have your Smart Phone ON THE WHOLE TIME WHILE USING LIVE TRAFFIC . I ONLY HAVE A TRACFONE AND IT USES ALOT OF DATA ... THANKS FOR YOUR HELP 👍
Are you able to stream music via bluetooth from smartphone to the garmin, then us the aux out at the power to an aux IN for your vehicle to essentially 'wirelessly stream audio' on an older vehicle that has only an aux input (no bluetooth)? FYI - I have an older Nissan Xterra, no bluetooth audio streaming - this would be a great simple upgrade along with the gps unit itself.
Just bought a Garmin 65 myself. Voice activation for addresses works so poorly that it rarely ever hears an address correctly. It comes back with something that isn't even remotely close to what I asked it. I Thought it was me not speaking clearly enough, but Google maps on my phone rarely misinterprets what I say. I have to depend on my phone to do what the Garmin wont.
Now I notice that certain main thoroughfares in my city are only recognized by the designated highway number. Is there a way to fix it so it will recognize the actual street name?

I'm trying to change the speed and arrival time icon design at the bottom (left and right). With my old 3590LM I can do that, loads of designs with much more information. This Garmin 65 seems to be solid with one design and only the two pieces of information, i.e the speed and arrival time only. Is there a way to change this on the 65? I am slowly noticing that going from the 3590LM (10 years old) to the 65 is a severely retrogressive move from what I can tell. There is so much I can no longer do or invoke with the 65. Would greatly appreciate help. I just simply cannot find a menu point to change said icons / design.
connect to phone via Bluetooth is great , unless your phone is connected to the vehicle Bluetooth for streaming music and hands free phone operations.. u can only connect one device at a time .. gps or your vehicle Bluetooth .. sadly .. dont know why they cant allow more than one bluetooth connection at a time .. I know its possible but for some reason none of these manufactures do it

Does not it work independently from smartphone? It says maps 9 giga update in 23 h (!) Which just doesn't happen. When I am driving and setting a destination it says GPS deactivated, so it does no search. There should really be a full live demonstration of how it works. It must be a fine gps giving a hard time getting it to function.
Bc I want something mounted on my dash at all times. I don't want to have to worry about pulling my phone out every time I drive just to see my speed. And have to worry about having to plug my phone in all the time

and most phones are like that too.. they seem to work at first and slowly diminish form there.
