Don't even start with harley benton. Even local chinese brands like Bacchus or Sqoe made arguably better LP copy for $150-$300. I tested it personally and it really feels like a $800 Epiphone LP
Screw on neck are more a matter of taste not quality. Fender does almost bolt on exclusively yet nobody thinks they make crappy guitars. That isn't the problem. It's definitely overprized but otherwise it seems like a decent guitar. Just not worth the money.

Like I said, it's an expensive novelty, collectors piece and I wouldn't spend the money on something like this I'm never going to use.
This isn't a guitar you're supposed to buy to play. It's a Trump collectable memorabilia for musicians. The price is probably determined by quantity made, and likelihood of being worth something in the future. Say 50 years down the road. Again, not because it's such a great sought after guitar, but because there are millions of people in this country who love Donald Trump for one reason or another, and they want to have it.
Hope you break even with the views. Would have had more credibility if you opened it up to show any branding on the pickups and bridge… Trogly style. No way that’s comparable to a $600 unit. Photo glued to the top, swimming in clear. Even Chibson LPs have a set neck for $330.
Why is set neck better? Its not and its not even more expensive to make. Glue cost more than metal and screws? Not more time and effort to drill holes and set screws than it is to glue. Bolt on is better unless you want set neck look
Literally every instrument from World Music. The Jackson dinky pro evertune I got for review on my channel has a $1700 price and it was just the guitar in a cardboard box. Absolutely unacceptable.

There are many sub $500 guitars that play and sound as well as more expensive guitars. But that is besides the point because an intelligent person knows a novelty item when they see it. The scarf joint in the neck isn't all about strength it's also significantly cheaper in terms of the wood to make them that way. Less wasted wood less cost.
@alfsmith4936 the strength it gives comes mostly from how it positions the grain structures within the shape of the neck so there is a lot of room to play with where you put the joint along the length of the neck and still being able to achieve the same improvement, there is an argument for putting it slightly further towards the body to get some marginal gain in surface area of the joint as the neck gets thicker towards the body thus meaning more surface area. Looks like a reasonably made instrument really, but is that mans name worth that much? Probably not. The more stuff he agrees to put his name on and sell the more of it there is out there the less any of it will be worth in the future
@@Samstrainsofficially No there isn't lol. The join needs to be on the common break point, (under the nut) or it's just to use less wood, to make a neck. It looks well clearcoated.
@alfsmith4936 nope, ibanez, jackson just to drop two names off the top of my head without even looking it up have the joint very much not under the nut. It sits somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd fret, definately not under the nut.

That’s just my opinion when I listen to this video, I could not hear the rhythm and the bridge pick up together the neck and the middle position sounded exact that could have been my television, but both Pickups did not sound good or bad. They were just there. I think as a collector it would definitely be a good one to have in your guitar collection. It’s an absolutely beautiful guitar and I love the way that it stands up for the USA but as far as $1500 and a really flimsy certificate of authenticity, I think that this guitar is just another cheap $200 maybe $250 guitar. I think at the very least they should have glued the neck in to give it a little bit of something to bring the price up to even justifying $500. 😅 I’m about a patriotic as it gets and love our country but this is a collector guitar. Original Trump quotes, that is the responsibility of his brand. And when you have incorporated that consumer mentality well, you will be happy and believe whatever the advertisement slogans say. Because buying and NOT questioning makes you happy, and relieves you from the burden of thinking, of making up your own mind. Works great - Christianity (esp. the myriads of self-proclaimed mouthpieces of God in the US) live great (in a 150 billion dollar industry) with the exclusive promise that only through them you get a safe path to Salvation, to eternal happiness in Heaven, that when you believe ALL they tell you, you OWN "The Truth", the ONLY truth - no need to KNOW the truth, to understand anything about the truth, no need for further learning and curiosity. By OWNing The Truth, you are intuitively right in ALL you think, say and do. Only effort required: NEVER ask questions, NEVER doubt, do not think on your own. You get told The Truth, there is NOTHING else to know beside it. So the cult consumer believes what he is told. Trumpers buy his caps, his water, his steaks in plastic sealing, his watch, his boots, and and and. Muskers buy the Cybertruck and then shoot at it, because one truly needs a vehicle for the post-apocalypse (where the electric grid still works). I have no clue about guitars, but I guess that this is a decent quality china made guitar in the ca. 500 dollar price range without the Nationalist outfit. The signature costs 10,000 dollar extra. As it costs Trump maybe 10 seconds for the signature, he has an hourly salary of 3.6 million dollars. When it is really scribbled on it with a pen, then the guitar is unplayable, at the location where it is signed the signature would be destroyed in the shortest time. When they do a protective coating over the signature, then you cannot distinguish the hand signature from a printed one. Trump knows as salesman that from a 330 million customer market he needs only a tiny fraction of customers to sell his advertisement claims to buy his products and he gets rich. No problem when 90% of the people see through the fraud, 33 million customers are enough.

Screw on neck are more a matter of taste not quality. Fender does almost bolt on exclusively yet nobody thinks they make crappy guitars. That isn't the problem. It's definitely overprized but otherwise it seems like a decent guitar. Just not worth the money.

The scarf joint in the neck isn't all about strength it's also significantly cheaper in terms of the wood to make them that way. Less wasted wood less cost.
It's too far down the neck to add any strength. It should have the join at the thinnest part but it's halfway down the neck on the ones I've seen.

I’m about a patriotic as it gets and love our country but this is a collector guitar. It looks awesome 👏🏼 but wayyyyyyyyyyyy overpriced.
How do you know they're not hand painted? Maybe that's one of the reasons it's taking them so long to ship out. Assumptions make an ASS of U, so never assume.
@13JDOG666 not sure if you're being ironic there, but if I was selling handpainted guitars, I'd be SHOUTING it. So yes, there is some assumption, but with the facts given, it is a 99.9% certainty.
I hope it's worth like a million dollars someday. It's a very funny investment. I love it that you bought this.
Politics aside, that looked and sounded like a “Chibson” - for all of us guitarist who actually own high-end instruments, we know that $1,000 bucks you can expect a professional level instrument. At least a gig bag, and decent QA… and no need to give any excuses for the instrument’s quality. But even that QA sticker near that scarfed joint looked cheap. Thank you for buying it, because that’s certainly a crappy instrument for the price. Can’t even tell what the top wood is, as it’s covered the decal. For us guitarist we know that there is a reason why the top wood increases the price of the instrument.
I understand if you’re biased and have some buyer’s remorse. It is a scam guitar, thank you for taking one for the team. I agree with many people here who said that no serious guitarist would buy this unless they have some sort of MAGA crush.
He needs to take this guitar to a professional Luthier and have it analysed and make another video.
Thanks for documenting this and giving your honest opinion. Obviously, it’s not worth what you paid, but at least it’s a decent guitar. If it were me, I’d either sell it now for a premium (I’m sure there are people that missed their chance that would pay just about anything for one of these), or, I’d do what you’re doing and just throw it back in the box to see what it’ll be worth in 15 years. It’s definitely more for collectors than players. Thanks for spending your money and sharing this.
I gotta admit im surprised its actually real haha. They were pretty ambitious with the pricing though 😂. You never know it might become like the next hello kitty guitar lol
not only is it cheap, not only is it ugly, but gibson hit it with a cease and desist, excellent
Given the Cease & Desist order from Gibson, less than 1300 of those guitars will reach the hands of buyers. So it may ultimately be worth $1500 15-20 years from now.
-when the dollar is worth less than a Trukish lira
All of these companies make Gibson copies: PRS, ESP, Schecter, Eastman, Ibanez, Edwards, Tokai, Greco, Burny, Agile, Wolf, Harley Benton, Firefly, D’Angelico, Yamaha, Guild, Godin, Sire, Heritage, etc.
Nice. First one I've actually seen in existence apart from on the website. It sounds quite nice too
Kudos...I did not vote 45/47 in
but the mild-to-moderate raging of NPCs throughout the comments is the best aspect of this video 🙂
I agree!! 😂
I wouldn't mind having the body off it, man that's pretty cool. The lettering on the neck though is just way over the edge! But at least it's a bolt on and could be swapped out.
Thanks for this, your probably going to be the ONLY REVIEW WE WILL EVER SEE. APPRECIATED
That's vintage blues on the bridge.. Sounds amazing. Worth $1,500.00? Yes, it's a collector series. There was only so many of them made.
Just because there's a limited quantity doesn't mean it will go up in value. You could make an argument that the ones he's signed will go up in value, but his sig if virtually worthless as a collector because he sold so much garbage with his sig on it.
It's value will be like a car. It's most likely gonna go down to pennies.
@@WN2W In the 80's a used "Harmony" guitar that was made in the late 60's sold for $5.00 to $20.00 Today they sell for $150.00 to $350.00 and they're junk. Made from plywood.
That Trump guitar will hold value.
You keep it sealed in the original box, as you would for any other collectible toy. Some day it may appreciate in value. Someone today would probably pay handsomely for an original, mint HITLER guitar.

I'd say a $260 Harley Benton. No way that's a $600 guitar. You say no finish flaws yet you said the frets weren't polished all the way down. Sounds like a finish flaw to me.
And headstock had a flaw
Harley Benton wouldn't allow this. They're German and belong to Thoman
@@ericdpeerik3928 Bentons have flaws to. You guys pretend like the come in the same setup as a prestige ibanez but thats not the case. They are good guitars, much better than gibsons actually which is why people track their music with schecters, ltds and bentons rather than their always out of tune and badly intonated gibsons. At least Fender isnt known for intonation issues. probably because the neck is not set but screwed in as it should be.
@@escapegulag4317 I wasn't trying to say HB's are some sort of perfect. I don't even own one 😂
What I was trying to say (and perhaps with to few a words, my bad) is that it would be a marketing nightmare for them if they sold cheap guitars against premium prices. That's against their entire philosophy as a company. Their mission is to sell quality instruments for affordable prices.
If you presented this idea to Harley Benton, they would tell you to fick auf! 😂
@@ericdpeerik3928 I agree with you there. Originally I interpreted your comment as a selective smear comparison against these trump guitars.
My point also was that all guitars are basically no better or worse than Bentons. They are all made in CNC machines now, there is so little difference.
all guitars are roughly made equal now, the only real differences are the setup they come with.
also disclaimer, some brands still manage to mess up the CNC process and guitars come with crooked and misaligned bridges and stuff but thats just a skill issue on the manufactures end.
trump guitars, harley benton, fender, doesnt matter, they will have flaws at all price points no matter how hard they try.
On a cold night we sit in front of our fire place play guitar and sing….🎤🎶🎵…the maga guitar would be useful when we need to feed the fire..🔥 😉
9:08 the scarf joint isn't for strengthening the neck, it's used so smaller cheaper cuts of wood can be used, many cheap guitars with scarfed necks actually separate at the join
That's true, PRS use scarf joints on all their SE single cut models, but not on the American made ones, it's a price cutting exercise
I see, thanks commenting!
Depends on who you ask. When you see a $7,000 Jackson Custom Shop on Diablo Guitar Shop,.....all of the Custom Shops have scarf joined necks. Unless someone special orders a 1 piece neck that's even MORE EXPENSIVE. So yeah,.....it all about perception of the buyer. I hate scarf joints personally. Jmo.
@@theariesexperiment4642 Yep, it's always the more expensive option simply because the raw timber needs to be bigger, I think passing on the cost on a $7k guitar is a bit tight though, the extra cost may only be $10, which is nothing on a one off bespoke guitar, but adds up if you're making 1,000's
@@UphillGardener-ly5sh still mad about the landslide 😂
Mellow pickups, but the action effort sounds about right. I do agree that you could have found something of similar quality for under $500. But hey, it's a collector's piece. Nice playing.
That's a gorgeous and sweet sounding guitar - I like low output PAF style humbuckers - but I'm not into memorabilia with commas in the price. Ironically, it's best at illustrating how good cheap Chinese guitars can be. No, I'm wrong - it's best at inducing foaming rage in the TDS crowd for the amusement of the rest of us. Luckily I don't need to buy one to enjoy that. One can get an excellent American-made CMG Les Paul style with set neck and gorgeous custom finish for less money to really help Make America Great Again.
Well put! 😂
There's no way an American company can beat the Chinese at manufacturing lol. You can't even get decent wood anymore
I have no issues with my T(otalitarian)D(etection)S(ense).
I any case better than people that believe blindly in what lifelong salesmen tell them,
that sell the image of their faked family name, sell the feeling of excellence and exclusivity.
That sell the myth of a self-made billionaire, while being born as son of a 400-million dollar daddy that pumped million after million into his son's business.
That people got to learn as actor in TV advertisements and as actor in a scripted (= totally fake and unrealistic) Reality TV show where he PLAYED the role of a tycoon.
That brag about (no need that they actually do) treating women like crap, grab them, kiss them, etc. to impress their (male) audience.
That say whatever the customer wants to hear.
That claim all is ONLY because their brand and their product is the best, unless it turns out that it isn't that the customers do not want it, then the statement of the brand is "We are not responsible for ANYthing" "It was all just a joke - locker room talk".
Works great - Christianity (esp. the myriads of self-proclaimed mouthpieces of God in the US) live great (in a 150 billion dollar industry) with the exclusive promise that
only through them you get a safe path to Salvation, to eternal happiness in Heaven, that when you believe ALL they tell you, you OWN "The Truth", the ONLY truth - no need to KNOW the truth, to understand anything about the truth, no need for further learning and curiosity.
I am also enjoying the TDS mental illness in this thread and fanning their mentality with facts. I'm also glad that ToneJunkieTV purchased and reviewed this guitar. Great Job.
You confirmed what I suspected. It's a Harley Benton quality with the Trump price tag. That's cool you got one. I hope you enjoy it.
The Harley Benton is far superior. And a least a solid setneck design instead of bolt-on.
If I'm paying over 1200 for a guitar my first choice is neck through. Second choice set neck. The only guitar I would accept with a bolt on neck at that price point is a Fender Strat.
@@vinceguerriero5484I would wager the 1998 epiphone Les Paul special I got from a co-worker for free is a superior guitar to that maga junk guitar.
HB could beat this for under $300 and make it a proper set neck single cut. With stainless steel frets.
@@detroitfunk313 Yeah, I mean 500 bucks with HB would be at least stainless+locking tuners, if not a setup that also includes EMG active pickups.
Basically for that 1500 dolalrs you could buy a HB with said features, take it to a luthier for a check-up and then spend the remainder on a "stars&stripes" paintjob... At which point the only think you're missing in the MAGA inlays and a copy of DTs signature on a "certificate".
I really don’t like the writing on the neck, but other than that, its nice. I like it for about $500.00 worth.
