I have been listening to music for nearly fifty years. | know what I like and what I don't. In my humble opinion The Black Keys are a cut beyond the rest. I am an old man, but I still think this band is amazing.
The drummer looks like the skinny English mechanic who restores old bomb cars on that Brit tv prog, I forget the name of it. He needs a haircut and a holiday.
Don't know what was going on with these guys, the lead singer looked like he was coming down off something and the drummer, it was as if he was fighting the drums.
I like these guys, on record. They sound great but live... I can see the why the criticisms have validity. No soul, no expression, the drumming is child like and he vocals aren't great. Still, better than one direction! :D
MarryJewana Patrick Carney is actually a decent drummer, he just often seems awkward playing with the whole band. If you watch performances of them as a duo he's a lot better.
***** well he's not, he said it himself, he's very average but he's a likeable guy and i wouldnt swap him. Black keys are all about catchy guitar riffs
***** he sucks big time, I know at least 5 drummers that are not even close to famous and kick he sad looking ass every day of the week, it is inexcusable for someone that acctually lives from doing this have not got better since fucking 4 years ago. He should do playback, honestly.
Am I the only who thinks the rhythm section is all over the place in this version. They also seem to struggle in the Glasto 2014 video. The groove gets totally lost in the instrumental sections. Ruined a great song
Well I think the whole band knows that something isn't right about this from the very first note. It could be the bass that's out of tune, not much, but enough to ruin the feeling of the song for them.. And us
tjaxon91 sorry, but meg at least played the drums equally or better than the recorded material. this guy ruins the songs live. great songs tho... just really bad bad playing.
I'm pretty sure it's the drummer in this song who's out of tune. most of their live performances they sound great, but whenever they play gold on the ceiling i somehow get the idea the drummer doesn't quite keep up with the higher tempo they try to do here
He does man, he can't be that bad I mean he plays drums really long and has a great ecperience and ability of keeping in time, he just sound bad in Gold on the ceiling live because the drums are different than in the album version and it sounds weird to you
Drummer sick.... Offside.. cocaine inclusive le dan tiempo y naaa el wn ala fuerza tocando batería. Esta wea de banda es pa escuchar este tema y nada más pero en estudio porque en vivo is bouchet
I love El Camino but I have to admit, there is something insincere about his band. Like there's no soul. Almost like an academic version of blues/country/bluegrass etc

Every old men think same
Excellence is timeless beyond age. All I care about is that we see the same thing: a band with a spirit..
Absolutely brilliant band brilliant music!
Its 2019 and this song still got me dancin
Saw them in Manchester last June ... Amazing.. even better than you could imagine 🎉
First saw this band back in 2004 Portsmouth England great little gig blew me away
RICHARD OSMAN FROM POINTLESS ON DRUMS?
I came here to say the exact same thing!! 😄
@@AndersMcTee its uncanny,lol.....
With an occasional dash of Ed China-depending on camera angle.
Great song! The Black Keys are so cool!
*dave letterman appears*
"Are those your drums or they're rentals?"
Oh my god, i got that reference!!!
Best version of this song
John Bonham occasionally played a few milliseconds behind. Sloppy feel. Great sound.
Used to play this when hanging out down Rolling Acres
Black keys were sensational in Cardiff this evening
-Ok Dan you can sing as well as you play the guitar?
- Dan: 0:30
Drumming like a god
No
Great songs from a great edition of the show!
Great song
Theres something amusing about the nerdy looking drummer knocking fuck out of his drums . Tune !!
That's a euphemism, right? lol
I always think of Scooby Doo when I see him. Have no idea why..
They have a sound that is their own. Anyone can criticize but try coming up with your own sound that doesn't suck ass..... Thought so
They created Blues Rock?
Great performance!
He learned to play drums from Meg White
+Michael Jensen for sure
Pisses all over Meg White, though not in the “watersports” sense.
That's not a ringing endorsement.
Dan’s guitars are rarely ‘off the peg’ which makes the band’s sound even more unique.
Looks cool sounds great what is it?
Awesomeeeeee❤️
I'm a massive fan of the black keys, but this seemed a bit lacklustre with Dan fluffing quite a few notes. They looked absolutely shattered.
Awesome
Que buena cancion joder!
Brilliant
Brilliant x
He needs drums that play themselves
Nice to see Richard osman is doing well after pointless
Brilliant Band absolutely fantastic DRUMMER , you saddos who slate him, go listen to westlife.
He’s shocking. Way too sloppy. If the black keys were an unknown band playing at your local bar you’d agree
@@oldmate86He’s still better than Lars…
@@Ali-fq3nz they're in the same boat.
The drummer looks like the skinny English mechanic who restores old bomb cars on that Brit tv prog, I forget the name of it. He needs a haircut and a holiday.
Ed china?
Oscar Williams That's the one!! World's fastest sofa...lol
love you dan
Richard Osman looking good on the drums...
I was watching Richard Osman’s House of Games the other day and I was thinking he looks like that guy from The Black Keys
❤❤❤❤
What I’ve always been wondering: what’s the gold doing on the ceiling?
Its a metaphor
@@gustavonovakoski4867 do you know for what?
Why do I feel like the drum pocket is all over the place? XD
it's bad hey
Bad timing at the drums, yeah but I like it.
He actually does it on purpose
Jude Law on keyboard?
Don't know what was going on with these guys, the lead singer looked like he was coming down off something and the drummer, it was as if he was fighting the drums.
it is good
Pat needs to get a metronome and practice his butt off
1.25x speed actually works !!!
Hate to be the band performing after this.. awesome performing and a bit slower than the record. Being cool dares to take time.. 😉
F※※k'n cool.
😊
The drums are a bit off
The snare was a little bit off yea?
The instrumental starts as if its @ 0.75 speed
I like these guys, on record. They sound great but live... I can see the why the criticisms have validity. No soul, no expression, the drumming is child like and he vocals aren't great. Still, better than one direction! :D
Not as tight as they once were.
They upped the tempo even more.
I'm not sure if they were trying to push and pull the tempo in a stylistic manner but unfortunately it just sounded scrappy - made me cringe!
They never really were tight live though, all there albums are just really we'll produced ( from brothers onwards )
Super Furry Animals - Golden Retriever. Anyone hear any likeness ?
I do man! Recently done a cover of Golden Retriever, i can feel it!
I like them aye, but why try so hard to be out of time. It's not cool.
Not sure if the drummer just really sucks or try's to...he plays like this in every performance
MarryJewana
Patrick Carney is actually a decent drummer, he just often seems awkward playing with the whole band. If you watch performances of them as a duo he's a lot better.
I'm a little confused by his interpretation too.

The Proclaimers wern't twins .....
They're gamers? Rocksmith video game.
beethoven symphony 9
Am I going crazy or are they out of time?
a lot actually, the drummer is floating and rushing all over the place.
No, you are quite sane.
In all honesty this is a bit of a shambles. Hate to say it, but its true.
Am I the only who thinks the rhythm section is all over the place in this version. They also seem to struggle in the Glasto 2014 video. The groove gets totally lost in the instrumental sections. Ruined a great song
Drumming tempo 😬
Comunque il batterista è ugualissimo a Pat il postino
The timing on this is all over the place on this one and not in a good way
Why is the keyboard so loud lmao. Terrible sound technician
It wasn't their best performance. Looks like they really need take a rest.
Well I think the whole band knows that something isn't right about this from the very first note. It could be the bass that's out of tune, not much, but enough to ruin the feeling of the song for them.. And us

Ultimate insult! Haha

Drummer needs to listen to AC/DC. How to keep time and sit in the pocket.
I love El Camino but I have to admit, there is something insincere about his band. Like there's no soul. Almost like an academic version of blues/country/bluegrass etc
I suggest you watch some of their older stuff like this ua-cam.com/video/17-oVrGoFtM/v-deo.html and then reconsider what you just said
Just awful
Awesome
