My dude have you considered the perks of a uncontrolled system a system without any superpower in control it means you can pirate a system without any concerns about being killed as no kill warrant can be issued without a superpower being available to issue one .
Need all stations in system to have under control to trigger expansion or take system control faction and closest station from sun is enough to start expanse?
Quite a bit has changed with patch 3.3 and the tweaks since. Blocking wars no longer exist so some of the micromanagement is gone. Expansions still go to the nearest system with less than 7 factions. Expansion range has increased to the limit of the old investment state, a 30 or 40 LY cube centred on your expanding system. Video is still mostly relevant.
Hi can you explain the new powerplay 2.0 and maybe how to improve and expand the power you choose to join? :) i think it is maybe similar to this but unsure?
I'm going to lay down some , B.G.S. knowledge . Grinding courier missions is your best bet for a positive results. I prefer to use a diamondback explorer with no shields , no weapons , maximum boost from power distributer , maximum thrusters and maximum frame shift drive. With lower power needs I lower the size of my power plant down one size ,but use A rated for the power plant. This is a pure speed boost build , built for long multiple jumps , and maximum speed. I grind an entire page of 15 courier missions in about 90 minutes . Then wait for the next day avoiding playing any games pacing myself.
It's a lot of time and effort. The most amusing effort I've done as part of a group. Was arranging the group to be the system controller and a foreign faction to hold all the other stations. Smash the foreign faction into retreat and if successful they hand over all the other ports without a fight to our group. Not very easy at all in large traffic systems at all though. Not easy even in small systems.
yep thats how we do it. And its easy to get them into retreat too, through creative use of game mechanics. Large traffic numbers might cause problems like you said
I just put an application in for a player party. We are trying to start conquering our home system. This video helped allot. We'll see if we can do it.
I’m particularly interested in understanding if factions need to be clear of wars / tier 2 states before we can engage in expansion. Do you have a link to the tables you use?
When leaving the mail slot of an Orbital station the federal Corvette starts to rise uncontrollably even though flight assistance is on. No other ship does this can you tell me please how I can leave an Orbital station safely this doesn't happen with similar sized ships such as the Anaconda or even the Imperial Cutter. Please help
@@DowntoEarthAstronomy Excellent. There seems to be a lot of great work started in 2018 and updated in 2019, and then something happened. It's hard to figure out whether and when it was updated. I get the impression that the authors got burned out, frustrated, or both.

FYI: I know of player factions that have expanded to systems further than 20ly when there are several (> 6) other systems within 20ly and fewer than 7 factions in them. Not sure how they did it, but it is possible.
I don't know which faction you're talking about but maybe they had retreated from those 6 systems previously. The game was updated to weight against expanding back into a system you were retreated from. However, other than some kind of system that had been flagged by FD as non enterable, you're going to the nearest with less than 7 factions.
They were listed as one of the top 10 PMFs when it comes to system presence. They're present in more than 45 systems, albeit mostly low population systems with fewer than 6 MFs. They recently entered a system I've been calling home since before PMFs were added to the game. So I know they were never there before. There are systems near their home system with 5 or fewer MFs. They may have not been able to expand into them due to the state in those systems at the time of expansion. Good for them to ensure everything was as it needed to be to not expand to those.
Unrelated to the video maybe someone can help me out with a question, I've unlocked prismatic shields and want to now unlock pack-hounds, when I defect will I lose access to prismatic shields?
You will lose the choice to purchase them, so you could buy what you may need while you have access. If you forget a size and or need another you'd have to do the 4 weeks again.
Down to Earth Astronomy i love this video but can u teach me how me as a Pirate can open a black market or create one and how to make a system to go to Anarchy mode i love to do BGS but i am more like a criminal
This is way too complicated for the casual gamers out there. I have no idea what Frontier were thinking when they came up with this type of gameplay... I'll just stick to exploration.
I think they were implenenting this so there are changes in the galaxy depending on what players do in the game so that it doesn't feel like everything happens just random. Players pushing changes deliberatly through working the mechanics never really was an advertised game aspect but it's nice to have that chance.

Wish this content creator would edit his videos down, to eliminate some of the rambling. Every video he produces, he makes it sound as though it is a livestream. Just listening to him ramble on, makes me want to look elsewhere for the information. I wonder if his analytics show a large drop-off off viewers at about the 5 minute mark.
Small mistake. expansion trigger at 75% not 70%
Hello, this is an awesome video describing the bgs. Could you share the spreadsheets you were using for this? Would be immensely helpful.

How the Hell can FDEV have this BGS without any in-game explanation is beyond my understanding.
Because they have an awesome community to do their job :P
They didn't design it with players manipulating it in mind but saw the depth it added so they put up the definitions.

Play powerplay for Archon Delaine
why they have to make it so complicated....
If a game has this many third party apps would that mean that they are doing something wrong, no?
Too bad you can't do all of this from the actual game interface.
Some of the information is incorrect, and / or outdated.

After multiple houndreds hours, people still have something to do. A lot of players in E:D are not casual as well. SO that is something cool to have!
