Been at photography for 50+ years, and many professionally. You make one great point, failure is an expectation. Some will be bigger or lesser failures than others. That is what editing is all about, weeding out the less good. And some good photos.
Roger on my latest explore my failure rate was absolutely astounding but when you get that 'yeah' buzz... ohhh it's worth the world. I think it can put people new to the genre off big time but its par for the course. Thank you for your feedback. Last explore 900 photos, 11 I'm ok with, 2 that might be portfolio considerations. Aaaahhh well, ya live and learn!
Loved the “oh yeah” quickly followed with a “shush”. If anything ever encapsulated the joy of looking at your just taken image on the back of the camera, that’s it. 😊
Hi Louise you are a breath of fresch air here on youtube. I am looking forward to your next videos. You are setting the standard realy high for all photographers!
Just caught up with you matey and must say and to coin your expression ‘I kinda love you’. I post for my family and friends and gave up on the amount of likes ages ago. Even Vero has turned into likes and follows, that’s it. I love the smoothness and the way your brutally honest with yourself and your photography, it is sooooooo me and my style. You got another follower for sure 👍🔔🔔 keep it going and look8ng forward to the next one. Oh PS I know a good sprayer and panel beater should you venture down those narrow lanes again🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🇬🇧👍📸🤓
Ha 😂. Good to know for the future Chris. I get what you say about VERO too but it is nice not to be bombarded with spam and stuff I’m just not interested in. Now Chris, my editing has got a lot smoother in my latest vid… a friend took me aside and told me what for and I took note 😳😁. Thanks for checking in and for making me laugh. Happy Thursday.
Congratulations on your first video. Great to see another lady landscape photographer in what appears to be a male dominated area of photography. Looking forward to seeing a different perspective.
Thank you John, there aren’t many of us … or maybe it’s a bit of imposter syndrome that prevents us putting ourselves out there easily. Thanks for checking in and I look forward to meeting you here again. 👍
So pleased that I’ve found your channel. There are a lot of very good Photographers / UA-camrs on here but for me, your channel stands out. I love how you are so confident in presenting your videos. Your way of speaking to camera is like watching a presenter on the t.v. Just brilliant and very informative….Thank You for sharing.
Greetings from the state of Texas in the USA! I just found your channel, and subscribed! I like your style of presentation for UA-cam. Keep up the good work!
Greeting David from a cold and slightly wet UK. Thank you for joining. 😊. I look forward to chatting with you in other videos. Forgive me, must dash… I’m hoping for a local sunrise 🤞
Just found your channel on recommended viewing. Enjoyed that very much Louise and couldn’t believe it was your first vid. Very confidently presented and an enjoyable watch. and a couple locations I haven’t photographed that look very interesting. New sub 👍
Ahhh Chris, I must confess that someone had a blooming good chat with me about these videos and told me that I need to include some of the shots that I am less pleased with in some of my videos. Woah,! I have done in Seeking Somewhere Rigged, but I’m twitchy 😂 Thank you for the feedback 😊
@@louisewelcomephotography You are doing a great job Louise, the quality is excellent. It takes a lot of bottle to actually put your head above the parapet and do what you are doing (I don't have it). Will watch your next one later this afternoon.
I’m happy that I found your channel. Your are sitting exactly at the spot at Blackchurch Rock, where I slipped on a rock resulting in a torn ligament and falling into the water last November. Wasn’t the biggest pleasure of my life limping back to the shore and up the hill back to the car park. In April I’ll return and finish what I began.
Ouch! It’s pretty treacherous in that area and the long walk up hill back to your car must have been pretty painful. Good luck when you return. Thank you too for leaving a comment 😁👍
You are the first photographer on here to really exude your enthusiasm and motivate me to feel great about my hobby. Well done in all respects, and please bring us more of your quality videos. Thank you so much!!
Hi Louise, I just saw your video on UTube and thought i would check it out and I'm glad i did. Very wise words at the beginning. Some really cracking image's. It was nice to see you put the location's on your video. So i have decided to follow your channel. Keep up the good work.
Tim, thank you so much. I hope to see you back here in the future too. There will be a short break as I am exploring North Spain with my camera at the moment. Hasta pronto 😊
Excellent and informative video.. I love Hartland Quay, however i quickly learned that you need to be down at that location past the pub while the tide is still in. As it goes out it reveals so many compositions.
Agreed but I just couldn’t do the over the top drop… I had to wait till I could at least go around the end and time it very carefully for rogue waves. It’s a great place 👍😊
WOW for someone who doesn’t like putting themselves out there this is awesome, I can’t wait to see your next adventures you well and truly put the benchmark up high. I can see Mr H’s positive influence in places 🙂 the master gave you sound advice. Beautifully delivered and a really good edit. You have yourself a new subscriber.
Excellent first video Louise, great advice to anyone who is starting out on their journey too, you can read every book and watch all the video’s, but nothing beats getting out there and practicing, failing and then finally getting it right.. Enjoyable style of presentation that is easy to watch and I’m looking forward to your future ones.
Hi Louise...what a journey your on...such an interesting first video..really enjoyed your explanation from your beginnings to where you are now....I've long been a nature nut plus frustrated photographer...I can relate to everything you've said ...I got 'serious' with my photography about 2 years ago..bought a Canon70d...now have a 5dMK4..will justify an R6 in time. I researched UK based photographers tutorials (Mr BH was one 🤣) (landscapes/nature/birds) ..got into editing...groan ! I joined some social media platforms and posted images here and there.. I'm at a crossroads myself ... need to print some perhaps...get better organised..Think you getting this channel is a great idea...look forward to following you on your journey.... Best wishes..Pete
Hi Pete, thank you for contacting. Lovely to hear about your journey into this rather addictive pass time. Bird photography is something I really admire enormously but neither my kit nor my patience support me pursuing it myself. I wish you well and hope your crossroads lead you somewhere interesting 😊. Mr BH … I bit of an inspiration with his editing and his architecture shots are sublime. Don’t tell him I said that 😂
I just had a thought about a baby visiting a store decorated for the Christmas holidays. With big wide open eyes filled with awe, the lights, the colors,....I thought that might be a way to go out and find photos or moments.
That's a really refreshing video Louise... valuable realistic insight for beginners, some great locations, well edited and above all a very relaxed feel.... superb.. :-)
Thank you Alan. I look back and cringe a bit as I was so nervous about putting myself out there. I appreciate you taking the time to send a message. I promise I am less all over the place in later videos 😊. Keep safe.
Thank you Ian. Brixham needs the highest tides of the year and ideally before the pool opens in the summer. Easter ended up being fairly ideal. I look forward to your captures 👍
Hi John, Welcombe Mouth. My absolute favourite and a kicker to get to in terms of keeping paint on your car. It also has a waterfall but we had had no rain for a month or so thus it wasn’t as impressive as I had seen in a friend’s shot. If you get there, enjoy 😊
Great first video Louise. Love the fact that you’ve chosen my local area to feature in it. Great images. I’m a bit disappointed that you didn’t drive down to Welcome Mouth though. That would’ve made for great viewing.🤣 Keep it up. Looking forward to the next one👍🏻
