    This video is on point, just bought one honda 750 and 2 days later it started leaking from one of the floats gaskets, now its time to fix that and try and clean it since it should have gasolime slime for lack of use

    Great video 👍 thanks for taking the time to do it very well done.
    Just wanted to mention I noticed you disconnected the carbs at the carb end of the boots not the engine. Way easier than trying to disconnect at the engine

    I know nothing about bikes. I saw a Honda shadow 750 for $800 with carburetor issues. If I buy it can I just change out the whole carburetor to get it to run like new? I don’t know anything about bikes, this will be my first bike. However, I do know how to follow instructions on a UA-cam video

    What size hose did you use for draining the gas from the carb?

    • @walman89
      @walman89  4 роки тому

      Robbie Spencer I do not recall the size. I believe it had to be smaller than a 1/4” I.D. (Internal dimension) i bought from Lowe’s, not a 1/4” size hose.

      Use chemical dip. It'll save you a crap ton of time. ONcr its out use, carb cleaner to spray them down don't use water. Give it a good wipe down

    Got a question.. If you view 9:08, theres a hose on the right side...it connects to a T, and goes to two places on the top of the carb....but where does the bottom connect to? Is just a vent thing and doesnt connect to anything? There is a good view of that hose at 8:30-8:40

    • @wrxtasy2010
      @wrxtasy2010 3 роки тому +1

      Figured it out...It is an air vent.

    possible a dumb question but what is that little pin you unplug at 4:27? i broke the gold pin and i’m not sure what to order

    • @walman89
      @walman89  3 роки тому +1

      Zyan Lopez I believe it is the ground connection for the float bowl heater, which is the other connector with the nipple.

    • @walman89
      @walman89  3 роки тому

      I believe it has to do with the heater assembly for the carburetor. Not sure what they are called, hopefully that helps!

    Very good video. Helped me a ton. Please excuse my ignorance. There is a hose that remains on the top of the carb. It has three openings. Two connect to the top of the carb. Where does the third connect, or is it just a fuel run off line? Thanks

    • @maddie690ify
      @maddie690ify 4 роки тому

      I guess it is the air vent hose

    • @walman89
      @walman89  4 роки тому +1

      maddie690ify yes you are right it is the air ventilation for the float bowl.

    • @maddie690ify
      @maddie690ify 4 роки тому

      OK. So it doesn't actually connect to anything?

    • @walman89
      @walman89  4 роки тому +1

      maddie690ify no it does not, the hoes hangs off to the side. Below the float bowl, so it does not overflow with gas in the bowl.

    Just a friendly word of advice. Do not seperate the carbs from each other. They have to be syncronized. Ask me how i know lol

    i'm having trouble putting the upper air box back on because of the tubes and hoses to the carbs. do you have tips on putting that back on?

    • @walman89
      @walman89  2 роки тому

      I had the same issue when I had the stock intake. It does not seam to line up right. Sorry I’m not much help.

    • @georgeperez3695
      @georgeperez3695 2 роки тому

      @@walman89 Oh, i see, you put on an aftermarket intake. Big question for you then, when you changed it out, what did you do with the crank case breather tube that went to the air chamber? i hear it isn't needed, but wouldn't it just be a open hole if it goes nowhere?

    • @walman89
      @walman89  2 роки тому

      @@georgeperez3695 Funny you ask. I did a lot of research about that same topic. I ended up using a hose about 2ft long connected from the crank case to the side of the motor with a small filter, it also helps not let any critters in. It’s literally a breather hose for the crankcase, so I don’t think it’s a good idea to block it. You could also use a hose going to the bottom of the motor to let air into the crank case, it will spew out any unwanted oil if I’m right.

    • @georgeperez3695
      @georgeperez3695 2 роки тому

      @@walman89 alright, i'll look into that if I can't figure out how to get that chamber back on. thanks for the videos and the conversation.
