Your videos helped moved me to get my passport and apply to Chinese universities. I want to work in China, live in China, and thank you for showing us the real side of China. I think you do a much better job at explaining the world than a lot of political scientists, journalists, youtubers, all of them. It's a unique thing to make videos exposing the truth to people in such a direct manner. Someone who looks at your videos without any political knowledge would just see you living a normal life but that's what's so special about it. More and more life here in western countries is turning dark at every turn and people here refuse to believe China offers the alternative it so clearly does. It's amazing that in a country of 1.4 billion people you, as a UA-camr with 100k subscribers, get recognized regularly. People really can't comprehend the scale of what China is offering and I think it's easy for viewers to miss how important these videos are in the context of what our government's are doing to Gaza.
Mingshi Countryside is heaven on earth. Nature is the God-father of all creations Simply spectacular and breath-taking. I wish I was cycling along- side you and your very likeable and lovely daughter, Professor Gweilo!
Been to Guilin a couple times and on the boat trip down the river. They say every mountain has the caves. It is an amazing place ! You can the views on the back of the 20RMB note.
forty years ago or even 30 years ago, these areas were dirt poor. not to sing praises of the government, but a stable society and hard working people can make a lot of differences
So glad Miranda got to see the Karst Mountains, they are a scenic treasure of China. Mountains in general are great, but the Karst Mountains are truly unique. That bike pedaling earns you several tallboys of beer.
When talking about wonders of the world, it appears like China has more wonders of the world than any of the other countries combined. What is shown here could only be a miniscule part of China..
Thank you Gweilo Kirk for sharing the spectacular scenery in Guangxi Autonomous Region of China. Karst topography is one of the most beautiful landforms created by natural geologic process of weathering and erosion. Similar topography can be found at Halong Bay in Vietnam that can be seen aboard cruise ships or tourist boats.
Very nice place and biking seems to be the best way to move around in the green landscape.....the sounds of the people and birds blends well with the video.
I cycle around the housing estate where I am living at the moment, and have to dodge six potholes everyday. Goodness knows how long they have been there. (Years). I have not seen one in your video. How do you hide them so well. We have a small lake, but you require a Fishing Licence and have to put the caught fish back.
Kirk, recalling during one of my visits to Alberta, Canada I remember seeing somewhat similar spectacular landscapes in Canmore, a short drive west of Calgary.
This type of landform is called karst topography. The rock formation is carbonate rock primarily limestone. Original limestone mountains have been undergoing tens of million years of weathering and erosional process. The scenery showing in this video represents the late stage of karst topography development.
750RMB per night! This is peak season price? I want to travel around China for few months during off peak season and I hope to stay at hotel for about 300 RMB per night.
Easy to find 3stars $15-to-$25 (150yuan)/night hotels on trip, and even sometimes 4stars for that price. example Daxin Mingxuan Lanxin Farmhouse $21 taxes included, just 1200ft from this place or fancy Mingshi Art Hotel with breakfast for two included: $32 for one night (that would be the cost of breakfast alone in U.S/Canada. Review "Free entry to the scenic spot, Free cabaret show, Free bikes and breakfast with a view"

Wish you all the best in your studies. Maybe you can also UA-cam your future discoveries and adventures in China?
Good for you. Wish you all the best to stay and enjoy while working there.
Your comment brought tears to my eyes. Sincerely welcome to study, work and live in China and explore her endless charm.
That background is gorgeous!
Your best videos are when (as you said) you are showing the beauty of China and the Chinese people... great filming.
Thanks! 😃
First time no beer 🍺 in hand in the video 😊

Ha, the surface of the road in this rural village is better than the highway here.😅
Glad to see Gweilo is doing well again. Yes, it is magical
Beautiful bike paths and nice scenery.

You have to sing praises to the cōmmunïst party even if you don't want. Deng Xiao peng : "to be rich is glorious"
Nice video

Best kept heaven for retirees.
It's heaven for the "farmers" who switched to capitalizing on tourism 😂. They can make more money than China university graduates
Hi Kirk, thank you for the video clip, now I know the place called 明仕, it will be on my future travel list.
明仕 is beautiful! We can't wait to go explore it ourselves.
Another great episode thank you

What a lovely place. Any information on the creation of those mystical mountains? Cataclysmic events?

Thanks for that.
Epic❤
Nice! This week would have been a nice time to go down there. Doesn't look too crowded even during the holiday. I'll make a note.
That rubbish bin overflowing is the most rubbish I have seen in China, ever! Still, it was unsightly.
Long time no see buddy, hope you are doing well.

Didn't look like a cycling track by the looks of it...makes me wonder too. 😅
that's for walking or running.
