#ThisMorning
As someone with ADHD I can totally relate to this. I was only diagnosed in my 50's and always thought the way I acted was just part of who I am, until it started to have an impact on my family life.
the same 😢
I was also late diagnosed with adhd and autism, I love how it’s getting more education and being more aware about the condition
@Sassystitcher-sv9pp I have the same diagnosis, I go from buzzing and wanting stimulation to wanting to be miles away from everything and everyone. Got diagnosed a year ago I'm nearly 40 now. Always tried my best to have normal jobs and do normal things but it always falls apart
Love that he’s embracing his ADHD😊 I just love Sam so much!
What a wonderful human being!
I don't know who this guy is apart from the fact he was in thr jungle, however I watched a segment that was done whilst he was in there and the doctor and his partner spoke about ADHD and everything they were saying resonated with me, I always knew I was different but just thought I was lazy amongst other things. Anyhow after about a year of researching I got a private ADHD assessment and last month I was diagnosed (at 32 years old). Much of my life now makes sense and I'm able to now try and sort my life out.
I know it's a tv show etc etc but it's very important these topics are talked about never in a millions years would I have thought I had ADHD. Kudos to the show for highlighting the symptoms.
The way he was with the little girl! What a lovely bloke. Adhd diagnosed in 30s and childhood was rough especially primary school. I like the advice given too if going private bear in mind a psychiatrist diagnosis is essential so don't waste your time, money on any frauds. Not all non psychiatrist diagnosis have bad intentions they will effectively brief you for diagnosis to an extent but be mindful
Thank you for reminding me about my contagious enthusiasm Sam 😃 I have been so busy coming to terms with my extremely late in life diagnosis of ADHD, and all the comorbidities and misunderstandings that have come with having an undiagnosed ADHD brain for 45 years, I forgot about all the times when my sparkle was there and I achieved extraordinary things that I was interested in. I want to do so much with my life, now that I have heard this. Having almost died from blood cancer, you are a breath of fresh air for me 😃
We need more people like Sam 🤣
Here’s clearly a lovely guy, his positivity is infectious! of course strengths are important, but the reality of ADHD is so different for a lot of people- the differences between men and women, impacts of hormones, internal hyperactivity vs external- the list goes on!
ADHD (as with other neurodivergent conditions) can truly be debilitating which is why it can be so disabling. Glossing over all of that with a promise of a “put your mind to something you love” sort of sentiment might not be that helpful for some folk and potentially could do some harm even.
Sam if you ever see this, you’re more than welcome to come along and listen in to one of our work’s ADHD breakfast clubs where colleagues regularly get together to support and champion each other 😊
@marthasolomon7971 i understand because of having Aspergers syndrome
My son is in the process of getting an adhd diagnosis, and school is such a struggle. The current education system's way of learning just doesn't work for him.
Getting adhd? It's not a disease...
Sorry he caught ADHD, probably got it from a pet
Sam it's the educational system that needs your attention. I was bullied by teachers .
Same!
Same here!
I love sam Thompson
Love Sam
Same
Sam is wonderful
Love Sam 🥰
When these things are talking about add I feel like it's me 🙃
Dr Anna Colton, as an expert, should know that ADD is an outdated term for what is now called ADHD.
ADD is an attention deficit without the hyperactivity.
Maybe it’s a superpower in the jungle but not in a 9-5 office job 🥲
I can't work because of ADD , I've tried all my life to fit in and do the normal jobs but it falls apart for me everytime
Wrong. I have been diagnosed and work an office job.
@nicgreen6501 would you say your adhd has been a superpower in that office job?
