I'm currently working on a 2D animation of battleships, and this is an amazing reference point! I haven't seen even a good amount of decent battleship animations. Thank you.
I'm glad it helps! I used a deck recording of an Iowa class firing during training. It's around on UA-cam and very low quality, but good enough for me to see how recoil happened, the motion and weight of the guns in traverse and elevation. I'll see if I can find it and link it.
ua-cam.com/video/dVvEPTYrcXA/v-deo.html There it is. If you need any advise shoot me a message. It's always good to see someone else getting into the arts!
@@warmbluelasers Oh I have already seen that video. My point was that I have rarely seen any good quality *battleship* (not warship) 2D animations, or even animations in general. Good job, mate!
@@eternalwarfare514 I think I pulled it from a library of free sound effects, and it was the least crappy sounding artillery sound. The sound was really an afterthought, to help the animation pop. If I were to do it over again I'd probably buy some high quality stock sounds.
When I saw the thumbnail for a sec. I thought was a real ship. But in my opinion when the barrels is moving, it looks soft and maybe too fast. And congratulations, your video appears in my UA-cam recommendation.

At the time I designed the model, I honestly didn't know much about autoloaders vs crewed guns. Since this is a pure fantasy new-construction design, I'll say they're using autoloaders.
I used modern ship design as a basis for the super structure. Behind the conning tower there's flat deck with banks of VLS cells. It's nuclear powered, eliminating the need for funnels and freeing up that space.

Nice sound effect for the guns. Sounds more how you'd expect a cannon to sound.
Thanks! It's been ages since I've made this. It surprises me that people are still checking it out.

Nice work
Is this simple plane?
The water? Yes it's a simple plane.
Wow this sound actually real!
Is it manually loaded?

Is that a modern cruiser armed with only canons?

so it goes down to reload then goes up again to fire
