- So I got the Mamiya RB67 a while ago now and this video is long overdue, but just wanted to do a short video on my experience and first roll shooting on a medium format camera.
Negative Supply also sent me the dslr Scanning kit for me to try out so that's another thing I was so excited about.
Definitely a super fun kit and I can see myself using it from now on.
I will make a in depth video on why I think this kit is great for most people, but go check them out: www.negative.supply

keen to see more film content and what magic you can make with the Mamiya!
sooooo goooood!!
Ayy thank youuu :D
Hey Kohki
The photos that you took with the Mamiya are stunning... A in depth video on the negative supply kit would be awesome...
Thank You!
Thank you Michael! I think I will!
Great idea!
Great photos! I love love love that photo at 3:50! I would really like to try out an Rb67 one day, but idk if I would want try and fit it in my bag when I travel haha
I remember my father's old Kodak brownie that had the view finder on top. Congratulations on the new to you Mamiya. Can't wait to see the photos!
Yes! More film content! Over the summer I was given my Grandfather’s Rolleiflex MX-EVS II so I’ve been shooting primarily medium format as well! I’d love to see different types of films stocks & expired films! You have a beautiful camera & I’m excited to hopefully see more film content too! 😀
Omg lucky! its great to see film cameras getting love even in 2022. I think it offers so much and its definitely fun with trying film stocks like you said :D
Yes to film!! General photowalks are probably my favorite type of videos especially with film cameras :)
ayy haha yeah its so refreshing!
I really didn't expect you'd dabble into film photography but I'm up for it! ✨ I think your style of photography in film looks amazing! Can't wait to see more 🙌🏻
Yess! its definitely refreshing! :D Thank you, and can't wait to shoot more :D
Damn ! 🔥content as always !
You should maybe try getting the instant film back for the RB67 ! And then do a comparison to other your SX 70 ! That’ll be a sweet vid!
Thank you Joy! oh yeah there's also a polaroid film back too I've seen haha. I will do a SX70 video for sure. I think the SX 70 is my favorite camera atm.
Appreciate the comment and suggestion!
love your desk set up man, so clean. The baby Groot figure is awesome too
I have been shooting medium format for decades and RB67 for years.
I shoot with two Mamiya RB67 bodies and the following Sekor lenses that all use 77mm filters:
50mm f/4.5 (use for landscape, architecture, large group portraits, and tight interiors)
90mm f/3.8 (use for general subjects, full-length portraits, small group portraits, and tabletop close-ups)
140mm f/4.5 macro (use for macro and close-ups) (use for 1:1 images with 45mm tube)
150mm f/4 (use for head & shoulder portraits)
180mm f/4.5 (use for reportage and portraits)
250mm f/4.5 (use for head shots) (use with 45mm extension tube for tight face shots)
When I shoot in the field, I normally carry one RB67 body with 3 loaded backs and the 50mm, 90mm, and 180mm lenses. I also carry a Canon G15 digital camera for test shots and for a light meter.
The more videos i see from you, the more i want to see, videos are so relaxing, wanna see more but need to wait for another masterpiece
Thank you so much!!
bro thank you so much for your effort. just ordered my MAMIYA RB67.
ayy! glad you liked it! haha more full episodes coming soon!
🔥🔥🔥🔥 always
Really great video, the photos just have a unique look to them.
Thank you! definitely loving film :D
I love shooting film, so it's great seeing this content from you! I'd love to see info on the negative supply kit, currently I scan using a dedicated 35mm scanner as well as a flat bed but was looking into the negative supply kits... I'd love to see you do a review of Ektar 100, as I think that film stock suits your editing style.... keep up the good work!
such a cool camera, the vibe it gives off is amazing
Ayyy thank you! Definitely loving the experience :)
the quality looks amazing
Nice!!! I was always wondering why Kate was the only one with a lovely Mamiya (also a RB67) while all pro photogs on tour with her always just had digital equipment. Medium format film still has some perks. Can't wait so see more shots!! 👏👏👏😊
Haha I think everyone needs a film camera if they're serious about photography. Can't wait to shoot more!
I´m really interested in the film photography. Have a film camera myself but haven´t had the chance to try it out yet. I hope you keep uploading these kind of videos, and show us more about the Mamiya WB67 :D
BRO
I didn't know you got an RB!
I'm so excited for you man, these first images look amazing 👏🏼
Wonderful camera. I sold mine a while back to get a Hasselblad 500CM once again but still miss the RB67. Enjoy it!
Cool camera 👍 Beautiful photos 🔥
Very cool, this really inspires me to want to get back into film again!
Thanks Jason! I'm planning some full film episodes so Im super excited to start a new series here on UA-cam! :D definitely refreshing to shoot on film and enjoy the process.
Hey Kohki, would love to see more film content & the negative scan kit. Looked so weird seeing you around the streets with a medium format setup, I hadn’t thought about using them in this way, had always just associated MF with landscape or portraiture. I’ve been intrigued with medium format for some time but hesitant to “pull the trigger”. Might have to make it a priority now. Thanks for the great content.
Yesss its so nice shooting on film, Im planning some videos so soon as its not raining haha
It wasn't just weird, my arms started hurting because of the weight haha not ideal
welcome to the mamiya family bro!
Thank you! haha excited
やった!! So glad you're shooting film now. Film is life. Would be great to get your opinion on different film stocks and see what types of shoots you'll do in black & white. Looking forward to your next videos. Have a great GW.
Ayy! I would love to try out new film stocks! :D
Hi Kohki, always inspired by your A day of Portraits series and super happy to see you doing film series too since my first film camera is exactly RB67! Hope to see A day of Portraits with your Mamiya some day. I’m in Boston/NYC and happy to meet up if you visit again.
Yesss! haha I can't wait to shoot more on it. been getting many requests on doing a portrait ep on Mamiya haha
Wow great find and wonderful captures
Any thank youuu
Cherry blossoms look so pretty! I really like the picture at 3:39 🌸😌
Yess its a must if you're in Japan haha
@@Kohki Yeah about two weeks ago we finally got cherry blossoms here in Hokkaido lol 😆
Dope camera bro. Just found your channel. Great work.
Excited for you to try out Cinestill 800T! Hope u get some 400D too :D
yesss I have to test the film but exited!
Now I want a film camera🤩
you need one haha
What a beautiful camera! Also I love the baby Groot in the background haha
Ayy thank you! Haha the groot is an essential haha
Finally I understand why one of my friends likes shooting on film
LOL
Beautiful camera 😍
😇😇😇
Would be cool to see a short on the whole light meter then dial process. Could cover it in 2 minutes I'm sure. I don't do film and so it was mysterious.
Great video!! Started shooting film again before it got crazy so I picked up a lot of cameras cheap. Very interested in the “Negative Supply”
Haha that’s great! I got the rb really cheap too but I see prices going up😅 the negative supply kit is so nice, I love using it even tho I’ve only scanned 4 rolls yet.
I will make a video on it!
@@Kohki Thanks! I hope you gave fun shooting medium format. I was looking into company they seem like a solid company.
I would love to see you explaining the whole process of taking film photos. Like a tutorial but during the process. That would be amazing.
I think I can sneak that into a bigger episode! :D in rain season so its not great atm so im trying to go out when its sunny
@@Kohki yeah, for sure! Enjoy the sun while you can! If you ever come to London, it will be amazing to prepare a meet up with all your followers here! 😍
Mamiya gang
YESSSSS
Such a nice camera, i would love to have one (i have a mamiya645 pro but i'm not using is as much as i should do 🙈🙈)
Amazing
moreee :D
I used to shoot film with a Minolta x700. I feel I progressed more when went to digital. Film is nice to but inconveniences out weigh me using it too much. BTW enjoying your videos.
ayy me too! it broke so I got a voigtlander bessa r now but yeah it is inconvenient in many cases but it does help improve significantly :D
Oh and please film collaborative videos with Kate Aoyama! I believed she purchased her Rz recently as well.
Haha I will ask her but she's not in tokyo atm
I’m down for film. I’ve gotten back in to it over the past few years
Yesss! its another way to experience photography and it helps get better in general :D
👍🏻
Make a portrait video with the rb67!
Ayyy haha thats a fun idea!
Film 🫲🫤🫱 Digital…both are great (: photos are photos :)
So cool, never did film but know i am interested :) whats that with the little stopwatch you got in youre hands while shooting?
Thank you! It’s such a refreshing way to shoot. It really makes you think before shooting too!
It’s actually a light meter since the camera doesn’t have a built in meter 😅
the color is from the original scanner or after toning
The pictures are absolutely gorgeous!! What film did you use?
Either Kodak portra 400, maybe Fuji pro 400h.. That's just my guess mind.
That’s a steal for how ridiculous the prices of the mamiya are getting
Beginner here. What's that device that you check and click before you take a shot?
More film photos ! or do some portrait with your mamiya as you always do ! *cheers
Ayy thanks Randy! Yeah I think I will also do a portrait one🙋🏻♂️ I have so many videos I want to make on film so I’m edited 🤩
nicer, nice.. the film of the mamiya is non existent here in the Philippines though..it's very rare to see anyone using a mamiya here.
Oh no way, you have to import it I guess
@@Kohki yes thats true 😢😔
Nice video!
I found an RB67 kit with two lenses at 350euros in your opinion, is it worth it?
That's really a good deal but it depends on its condition as its an old camera and you do need to know what to look out for.
Also the prices are going up on the RB67 as well as the RZ and the Mamiya 7 is going up by a lot so I would try and grab it when you see a good deal. you can probably sell it for the same or more in the future
Never seen Meguro River so empty before. Damn
Hahaha it was weekday at 6-8am I live close so it’s easy for me
HI KOHKI .... im from Malaysia
can you do shooting potraiture with the mamiya
I would love to haha
which film stock is this
I used portra 400 and Fuji 400H :)
@@Kohki Thanks!
where u get the camera..?
Merukari, its like Ebay for Japanese people lol
1:29 hah I took a shot there before too
Before the mamiya trend my mate sold his for ridiculous prices and he even offered me them for cheap but I still couldn't afford them 😭😭😂😂
get a neck strip !!!
Get a strap. The RB67 does not bounce.
