This is great, one for the older farts. In the 80's, he played all the games very well, but on the bar table, there were very few who in the entire country who could beat him, especially with the oversize cue ball. I remember the gang at the old Rusty's 24 hr billiards on W-NW Highway, Dallas, opening the ball return and long sessions for big $$. Good times. Thanks for posting 😃

Sammy Sota was another guy who could play with the big ball at Dave’s speed But you are correct he is a Legend of the 70s and 80s even the early 90s

Matlock made some amazing shots. When I initially saw that the video was under an hour I thought "oh, Skyler is going to crush this guy." :)

In 40 yrs I’ve never seen Matlock pull-up after 1 set on a bar box. Especially if he was up 9-2

The fact that you call him " this guy " just tells me you didn't see " this guy " in the late 80s and bar table beast throughout his career ...ask any ol timers like me and you will find out " this guy " couldn't find action with NO ONE on the Bar Box !! NOBODY WANTED A N Y !!!!

@@davidblack4695 my dad said the same thing! I didn’t start playing until the 90s, but I am sure that this guy played jam up. I was just commenting that he made two really big errors against a very, very good player in his prime. Scratching on the winning ball in the side pocket in the first game And Banking at a shot that he didn’t have to shoot because he has a clear shot he didn’t have to bank. You usually don’t get to make two errors like that against a player of Woodward’s caliber.

@@Brownie-tg3nuyou also see things differently when you are at the table and have some pressure on you And Dave knows what the consequences of his aggression are he just use to living with that

@@davidblack4695even Buddy Hall had enough of Dave’s bar box action in The 80s. When Louie Robert’s and Buddy hall wouldn’t gamble with you,you knew were the man Dave is a Legend
