Smart move. Clarke has a lock on the #1 pick this year. And... will set a new normal for an WNBA salary . Next year Paige has a shot at #1 pick plus Clarke has set the new contract standard. It's a win-win plus we get to enjoy her talents for 25-30 games while in college.
That's if Clarke even comes out .. She might return for another year.

I'm a lifelong Iowa fan, but as a supporter of women's hoops, also a huge fan of Paige. I've been following her since her Hopkins days. I can see where Caitlin, for example, should be ready to move on to the W. Nothing really left to accomplish. But Paige has been denied much of her college career by injury, as has her team. So even though I think she'd still be a high draft pick, and a success in the W, it does make sense to me that she wants to stay to see her college dreams come to fruition, playing with a healthy Azzi and the rest of the team. She'll have a legit chance to wear the Ring. I'm sure she doesn't need the W $$. But I live in the CA Bay Area, so I'd love to see her come next year to the new Golden St franchise, so I could drive down from Sonoma Co to watch her play, esp when the Fever (w/CC) come to town. C'mon Paige!!
The W needs Paige and Caitlin more than they need the W. The WNBA would not embrace 2 white, straight potential superstars into their angry black lesbian club. Even women, feminists and the LBGTQ doesn't support the money losing WNBA by attending the games or buying merchandise. It took being arrested and jailed in Russia, for breaking the law, for Britney Griner to become "famous".

I predict if the Huskies don't win the NCAA Championship in 2025, Paige Bueckers will return again for another year. IMO, it's time for her to move on from college but then again, if she can make more $$$ under a NIL agreement than in the WNBA, I don’t blame her for staying. I hope she’s choosing to stay partly to advance her academics and not solely to play another year of basketball for another NCAA tournament title shot. No matter how hard we would like to delay things, father-time waits for no one.
NIL money is good. But the NBA is going to throw bus loads of money at Clark, Brink and Reese if she declares.
