Józef HOMIK - “I ty mu wierzysz, biedna dziewczyno” Aria from the opera “Halka” by S. Moniuszko

The aria “I ty mu wierzysz, biedna dziewczyno” (“And you believe him, poor girl”) from the 2nd Scene of the Act II of the Polish opera “Halka” by Stanisław Moniuszko.
Jontek (Józef Homik) who loves Halka his true love, cannot accept her naivete and he is trying to convince her that sweet words and promises of the Landlord are worthless, because she is only a peasant.
The performance was recorded at the Opera Śląska, Bytom, Poland, in 1995 - the year in which the Opera celebrated its 50th Anniversary - with a guest participation of the legendary Polish tenor: Józef Homik who came specially from Chicago to sing the part of Jontek.
