I feel like we are all doing the same thing. Everyone is in tech and semiconductors waiting for the bottom to fall out and then rotate out. It just doesn't happen so we are all just waiting.

XLP and tech are running higher for one and the same reason: money managers. They don't want to exit the market at ATH, but they know there is so much that can go wrong, so they buy safety: XLP, XLU, XLV and big tech. As crazy as it sounds, big tech is now considered as safe as treasury bonds.
There's so much money on the sidelines in money market funds that it's incredible. I don't know anyone who is currently fully invested. Most if not all traders are waiting for semis and tech to drop but still have plenty of reserves in MMF.
Is there a government stat that tracks robot job additions 🤔

Hey AT - would you mind going into more detail on what makes a control bar in your eyes? I know it is probably a super simple no brainer thing but just trying to understand your criteria to classify something as a control bar so I can apply in my charting. Thanks dude, appreciate you.
The bar that the price action hasn’t been able to work off? Usually off of news/earnings/data? At times a bigger bar encapsulating multiple previous bars and to the opposite direction of those? Lol sorry just trying…

I wrote about the business cycle recently. So, I’ll spare myself the pain of doing that again. Suffice it to say that State Street has a good article about it with a few very nice charts. The trick during this cycle is to figure out how “injecting $1.7T into the economy” changes the game.
Intuitively, though, we likely understand that consumer staples and health care should do well when people have less money to spend.. you put money where it’s needed, making it no shocker that XLP is doing well at the moment. Funds are getting tighter. Money is being diverted.. less Starbucks. More WalMart.
