Great explanation. 😊 Another (accurate) formula, if I have to do it my head (and I can't multiply/divide by 1.8 or 9/5 in my head) is: C to F: 2C - 10% + 32 [Double Celsius temp, subtract 10%, then add 32.] F to C: (F - 32) / 2 + 10% [Subtract 32 from F temp, divide that by 2, and then add 10%] Ex: 20c to f: 20 doubled is 40. 40 minus 10% (4) is 36. 36 + 32 = 68F Ex 68 F to C: 68-32 = 36. 36 + 10% (3.6, which can be rounded to 4) = 40. 40 divided by 2 = 20 Celsius. Someone taught me this recently, and I find it sooo much more accurate than the 'double it, add 30' trick that so many of have been taught (which results in an estimation that can be off by 5° F or more). 😅
Thanks a lot! I'm really happy to hear that. If you could do me a favor and click that subscribe button, I'll be glad and I'll do the same for you haha :)

Excellent question Juliana! You change Fahrenheit into Celsius, then change Celsius into Kelvin! That way you don't have to memorize more formulas. so the formular can be said like this f=1.8c+32 but then if i wanna reverse it can i say it like this? C=f/1.8-32 if yes how come wordmat, geogebra(cas) doesn't calculate it please help me understand it
Hello @@QuocDatPhung, thx for answering!😁 why are you adding "()"? (i know () means prioritise) but why do we have to take 32 away first for the equation to work? i'm not native english speaker so hope you can understand what i'm saying! thx😁
@@Methmaker I understand you perfectly! If you want to find the fahrenheit, then the equation is f=1.8c+32. So you have f alone on one side of the equation (by itself). If you want to solve for Celsius, you gotta get C alone on one side of the equation. f=1.8c+32 We can subtract both sides by 32 f - 32 = 1.8c We're almost done now. We just need to get rid of 1.8. The way to do that is to divide both sides by 1.8 (f - 32)/1.8 = 1.8C / 1.8 This gives you: C = (f - 32)/1.8 The reason why you have to add the () is because (f - 32)/1.8 is not the same as f - 32/1.8. That's just the way it works :) Let me know if that makes sense for you and don't forget to kindly subscribe!
@@valerieochoa80 At 3:07, X - 1.8X on the left hand side of the equation will give you -0.8X. That's because X-1.8X = -0.8X. Let me know if that makes sense.
Please show smart way not hard way which make kids don't want to learn. Yes, but if... F=C*1.8+32 Then why isn't C=F/1.8-32 How the fuck is it C=(F-32)/1.8 ?? Shouldn't they be inversely proportionate? Why are they two different formulas? F=C*1.8+32 C=(F-32)/1.8 The order of operations is not being observed here and it bothers me.
Ok, first things first: F = 1.8C + 32 Minus 32 on both sides F - 32 = 1.8C Divide 1.8 on both sides of the equation (F-32)/1.8 = C It cannot be C=F/1.8-32. why is 1.8 and some people use 5/9 i wander why is 9 and 1.8 explain to me please?
It's very simple. This website has a very good explanation: byjus.com/fahrenheit-to-celsius-formula/
It's because when you divide 9/5 you get 1.8
