Great games, casting, and production. I’d love it if they didn’t clip the end of the video as soon as the game is done. It’s really jarring. I’d prefer if the casters had a minute to bring down the emotions and add their final analysis.
@@CommsStation These comments exist basically forever since they put out the first replays of pro ScII. I was complaining about the cutting end as well. But they never seemed to be bothered to be changing it. Also I would suggest to put somewhat of a reference in the start, so we get some comments on the players, before the game is starting. One timestamp and ez. They never changed it, besides the criticism is here for ages now. So I dare to say, nothing will change, even if I would love to see them adjusting it to the likes of the people watching it.
Awesome games all around from both sides. Maxpax has seriously improved so much, it's impressive. Serral also looking extremely on point lately. Top notch Starcraft.
I feel like nobody puts enough emphasis on the fact that this is a European protoss fighting one of the best zerg players to have ever lived. Protoss players have not been able to compete with serral for a while. And this guy is playing like a fuckin BALLER. Those stasis traps were in real. I haven't watched sc2 for a little bit so I don't know if that's the new thing everyone is doing, but I can tell you I've never seen that before and damn dude. Maxpax is playing like a badass
Good god Maxpax is so good. I remember Serral playing Stats and just running over her him. Serral didn't even play badly that second game. I mean. I don't don't know how you could play better. But That was a gorgeous series. Some of the best Starcraft I have ever seen.
That second game was actually really interesting. Maxpax went full gateway-man with double upgrades, and that style makes it a battle of upgrades. Normally, the tech progression for Zerg is to get Vipers and tech into Lurkers, but against mass gateway Vipers don't really do anything, and teching into Lurkers is too big a resource sink, and the Protoss can kill you before you get them online. Instead, the Zerg should stay on ling/bane/roach/ravager, and focus on upgrades and Adrenal and taking good trades. With even upgrades and Adrenal, Zerg should trade more efficiently, and eventually you can buy the time to tech into Lurkers. Serral was only on 1 evo, AND forgot Adrenal, so he fell behind on upgrades and lost the war of attrition against mass gateway. Really well played by MaxPax to recognize these mistakes by Serral and fully capitalize by pressing his mass gateway army. The way for Serral to improve against this style is to play double evo and not forget adrenal, and in the following games you can see Serral playing double evo in all of them, and getting Adrenal as soon as hive finishes (besides game 4, the other game he lost)
@@space_orphan VIBE faces it and he went 2-2 ling roach 90 drones, non stop run bys on bases , just constant pressure. But dunno how it translates from 4.5-5k to 7K mmr games.
Amazing series! Maxpax! The new protoss hope! Side note: ESL, could you please leave more of the recording on the video. It cuts out the instant gg is called, which is far too soon! I'd love to also have the interview, which helps with the spoilers of time, as well!
Some strategic analysis on game 6: Serral was obviously very far ahead at 1:29:03 after killing the 4th and 5th bases of MaxPax, but had a had a hard time finishing the game and actually almost died to the Pre-brood lord maxed-out push at 1:35:31. In fact, if MaxPax had SLITGHTLY more ant-air he could have gotten on top of the morphing broods, and that would have been game. I think the issue is that Serral should have immediately gone for brood lords instead of Lurkers after killing the 4th and 5th bases initially. He had bought so much time, and there's no way MaxPax could have attacked before the first wave of brood lords. Once that first round of broods gets out and on the offensive with no protoss air units then it's completely game over, so I think going Lurkers instead really let MaxPax off the hook for no reason, and almost cost Serral the game from a completely won position. Not sure why Zergs are so hesitant to go brood lords these days, I think if you get a big lead they are the surest way to close out the game.
If you go broods you need nydus and that takes too long to tech to if you haven’t already got it. By that time you’ve lost too much pressure on the eco and the toss built up an even army supply and you can’t match it because the broodlords take up so much of your army cap. Not saying you’re completely wrong but that’s the main reason I prefer bane mashing/lurker sieges as a mid masters NA player
I thought he should have kept pressuring the 4th and completely deny the 5th until MaxPax starves out. He had the army and the economy for it at that point. Kind of like he won the game eventually by killing all probes, then he could trade away his army and Max could never replace it.
man, closest comp i can think of with serral was inno when he was at his peak. nothing eye catching, just incredibly clean mechanic and insane decision making under pressure.
I'm really impressed Max Pax gets the motivation, Protoss hasn't been strong enough to compete at the top level, basically ever. Aliguliac stats back this up.
Only other Zerg I truly feel like was damn near unbeatable was Life. Truly wish he didn't get in trouble because he was absolutely the best. Maybe even better than Serral. Gah, it makes me so mad that we will never know who was better.
Mais deux joueurs quelle crevé cœur 🥺🥺🥺 mais franchement quelle magnifique partie je vois bien le meilleur zerg du monde et le meilleur protoss du monde ses magnifiques ❤️❤️❤️

I always dislike it when I watch Protoss players go Ground/Air Armor upgrade first instead of Shields Upgrade against Zerg, because there is no EMP and Protoss cannot heal nor repair themselves, so those STRONGER ground/air armor are only good for ONE use if any units survive.
the thing is tho the shields don't start with any bonus, since toss units have the 1 armor already and standard +0 shields, it makes zealots a lot tankier meaning they are more brutal at runbys
@@aaronbuffalo7769 Yeah, for one time(reaffirms my point). Unless I'm wrong how armor works in sc2(each armor point reduces incoming attack damage by 1), a stalker with 1 HP, 80 PS(Plasma Shield), +3 ground armor(+4 in total), and +0 Shields will get killed by a zergling with +0 Melee Attacks(5 damage) in one hit on 1 HP 0 PS, therefore a stalker with 1 HP, 80 PS, +0 ground armor(+1 in total), and +0 Shields has the exact same armor value as another with +3 ground armor(+4 in total). This means you lose armor value with units over time unless it's a 2 vs 1+ and your teammate is Terran who will repair your damaged mechanical units or/and heal your zealots. You can replace the 1 HP 80 PS +3 ground armor stalker with a fresh one but this will make you cost-inefficient over time.

Ultra top sc2, both players are amazing here. Serral the Finisher seems to be back and MaxPax has become so damn good.
I think it would be cool to include a bit more in the end - the video ends very abruptly
Crazy skill. both players have some extraordinary sense of when to defend and where to attack :)
