But wouldn't that be sooo boring? Sometimes feeling things can be good, like caring for others and feeling love by others who love you. If you had no feeling how could you motivate yourself to do anything?

Because you're right; what motivates us is a discomfort with how things are and a desire for them to be another way. Without any feelings at all, we would just vegetate. But damn, the feelings this song makes me feel are taking my eyes of the prize. These kind of feelings are what most people are referring to when they discuss the human experience, and that's what I'm when I sometimes say I don't much care to be human. Being human sees overhyped. These feelings distract you. It's like feeling pain when you're pricked by a needle. You need the medicine. Or that emotional reward we get from sugary, salty, fatty foods. Most of us over eat these days. I guess I don't want to not feel feelings, but I wish I had a great deal more control over which feelings I felt. As for this song, it just makes me feel a sense of awe, and a little bit hurt, and impressed at its ability to make me feel anything (most songs don't). And that just makes me want to listen to it over and over. And it makes me want to just sit in silence after. And those right there are not productive feelings to feel.
