I did not really believe that little shrimp like this one can make such a huge difference.
If any of you have a problem with Asterina Starfish, just get yourself a Harlequin shrimp (Hymenocera picta) and you will have no problem with Asterina starfish anymore.

They are generally reef safe but still a nuisance. In a closed environment like our tank environment, we have to maintain a balance and not let one species overrun everything. I have the same problem with spirorbid worms, harmless but are all over the tank and unfortunately they have no predators, I tried bumble bee snails and they did a little dent but they concentrate on vermetids worms. Predators are the best to battle one species vs another.
