Take a bath with chandrika at night or on a rainy evening,,,😮 your mind gets elevated... It feels soo fresh and energetic... For a keralite, no matter where he is, the smell of chandrika can bring back the memories of his homeland 😍 Thankyou nikhil bhai for making this video 😃 Please continue making more videos on traditional indian products
But bhai I just received it, first thing, don't know if it is original or not. But main thing is it has TFM 65% that is for toilet soap. I am not quite clear about the product now can you please tell me are you using for bathing? Should I try?
Agreed. Chandrika needs all the push internally, to be given a marketing platform. It's a living memory of our traditions. Thanks for this, much needed.
Hi, brother, Dr. Nikhil. Love your work. Just wanted to add, when soaps were not there, since time of Shushuruta, Dry powder massage was a part of daily regimen, known as "Udhawartanam". Composition of herbs chosen for this powder have scrapping (Lekhan) properties. In all ayurvedic texts there is a chapter dedicated to "Dincharya/ i.e. Daily schedule". It says after waking up in morning first do: Malatyaga/ stool, then Datun/ Manjan, cleaning teeth using tree stems or tooth powder, then do Anjan/ eye drops, then take Nasya/ Oil in nostrils, afterwards do Abhayanga/ Body massage, after Abhayanga do Vyayama/ Excercise, then do "Udwarthana/herbal powder rubbing massage, then Snana/ Bathing, after all this take Bhojana/ first meal of the day. In ancient many use to follow this regimen.
Damn! I would have never guessed the history behind this soap. Always saw it sold in shops, since childhood, but never paid heed to it. And now that I am abroad, I can contrast and see how rich and superior Indian culture and history is. It's moments like these that genuinely make me proud to be indian. We can be so cynical of our culture due to the trajectory that we have taken post independence. You would know how much better we are when you meet people from cultures that are way more backward than ours, especially the newer countries with little to no history. Respect to my country. Let's not spit on the freedom of expression that we are born with by banding with others who criticise us. More power to our nation. Our golden days will resurface. Just give us another 25 years. Sorry, I do not mean to sound like a nationalist. Nor will I turn this comment thread into a socio political commentary. Will report and have all negative comments deleted. Nikhil deserves better. His channel has been selfless and a shining beacon during the quarantine.
Thank you very much Sir. Apke soap reviews bhi perfume reviews ki tarah bahut helpful aur informative hai. Yeh soap mai kayi bar super market me dekh chuka tha lekin uski ehmiyat aj malum hui. Now I will switch to Chandarika Soap. Thanks.
Chandrika also has a sandalwood soap which also is very strong n potent in fragrance...I personally prefer it during monsoon season ...u could try that as well
Excellent video Dr. Nikhil. Have used Chandrika soap in childhood. Now have just ordered from Amazon after seeing this video. Need to revisit this beautiful soap once again...
Being from kerala.. the smell still brings back all those naustalgia.. Way back from your childhood.. as we grew up in to our teenages we left them behind for those macho brands and smells...thnx for sharing the information which being a keralite I never knew..I think it's time to go back the lane... Thnx Nikhil bhai once again & all d best... 🙏
Sir you are a true artist who values indigenous heritage also..Kumkumadi tailam is also a hidden gem which most people in India don't even know..its one of the many gifts from Ayurveda to our civilization..I hope you will make a video on it too kyunki "Aap Explain bahut achcha karte hain". And aapki reach kaafi hai..if you have not tried it please do give it a shot.I am sure you will love the soothing effect it has on skin and mind.
Thank you for this review.Currently I'm using Vaadi Herbals soap,it is also Indian and chemical free. And all the soaps of vaadi herbals are hand made. If you can, please review Vaadi Herbals soap.
I have been using this since past 10 years now. It's simply awesome. Thank you Nikhil for getting such beautiful required informative content in today's synthetic world. Kudos to you.
thank you sir for highlighting this wonderful product. when i was staying in hubli this used be my favourite soap. now a days it is not at all available in retail stores here in kolkata. the after shower feeling was such invigorating and so awsome that it cant be expressed in words.
You bhai are a true lover of fragrances from attar, perfumes to soaps here i was thinking i was crazy to but expensive soaps for my fragrance addiction.
I like ur videos thanks for sharing such incredible products of India. I. Always knew maysor sandal. Please make such videos we can better know about India 's talented products.
Can anybody provide the Amazon link for the original one? I saw there are 3-4 products for this and I am confused which is the one he is talking about.
Thanks for reviewing this soap. It is produced in our city in Kerala locally, though the founders are from Irinjalakkuda. It is as you said, a khandani virasat for us here in Kerala. If we miss home too much, we just buy this soap or Medimix and use, and become more homesick, as a result...( I prefer the local version of Chandrika, tbh).. It takes you right back home to Kerala, with its scent.. It is a heady scent, but such a clean, green, ayurvedic scent. It wakes you right up in the mornings and rejuvenates you in the evenings. We use it all around the year, even in monsoons. You feel so clean afterwards. Some aromatherapy wizardry in such unassuming packaging. (Same also true for the classic local version of Medimix). One might even claim that bars of Chandrika - or Medimix, which is more readily available- are one of the essentials in a Malayalee luggage. I saw international reviews saying It is a bit drying sometimes, (maybe due to the soda, and essential oils maybe..)and it finishes too soon. I use it only sometimes now because it doesn't agree with my dry skin, dries my hands out particularly. We used to use it as kids all the time though. Lather is excellent due to the coconut oil percentages. You should try to use it up as soon as you buy and open it. Older bars could harden and dry up if you leave them open or boxed unused. Fresh bars are a treat to use. So lush and lathery.. Your glowing review pointed out to me the strong perfumery/aromatic aspects of this soap. Such a pleasant thing to see. Please buy the classic version always if possible. I just feel and remember it as a much superior version. I hope this company keeps making this soap, maintaining the quality of ingredients and formulations. Makes one grateful for the gifts left to us by our foregone generations.
Around 10 years back Chandrika had a limited offer where they included a small bottle of bath oil with the soap to mix with water while bathing. It had a more stronger fragrance than the soap and used to take the bathing experience to the next level. Wish they would bring it back.
After watching your video I just bought it from big basket... But not the classic one cause it was not available... The new version reminds me of old days... Like old hamam nd Margo soap... Can you please tell me that the glycerine vrsn is also good like the normal one...
Thank you 🙏 for this review Our family is using since longtime Chandrika and Mysore sandal soap Nikhil I would like to request you please review KUUMBA Amber and Sandalwood oil it is pure natural oil Rest you are smart enough to check it
You have given very fair reviews. It is also true that it is very difficult for new brands to compete with big brand because of their marketing expenditure. We as Indian do not know difference between essential oils which comes from plants ,herbs and flowers and generally used by foreign soap makers as these essential oils are good for skin. Fragrance which are synthetics and cheap has disastrous affect on skin like cancer or many skin allergies in long run. Do you think in 40 RS soap of big brand they are giving essential oils. My request is people should understand this difference of sandal wood fragrance and oudh fragrance their essential oils are so expansive no company can afford it. Essential oils and iter made in Kannuz are good but so expansive . Please do make people aware that essential oils soaps have good smell but beneficial for skin and people should pay money for good product
Sir, very informative video.I trued when I was in chennai.this soap suite for hit and humid weather Did you tried any soaps from carvery emporium the same government shop which sells sandalwood oil,you will be thrilled ( they have a soap with saffron +Sandalwood notes 😀)
It would be great if you could review oud arabia dubai perfumes and attars which opened in pacific mall , I bought it recently I think its really great for starting wearing the oud scents
I ordered it today and found the TFM is only 65%, how can this be used for bathing? This is a toilet soap. Do you suggest me to use it for washing body?
Got the original version, 6-pack, for Rs 270 from Flipkart! Out of stock on Amazon. Thanks for the review and reintroducing me to another gem. I will only be using Mysore Sandal Soap or Chandrika. love them both. Is Medimix of the same caliber?
Try Mysore sandal Natural Herbal Care soap, not the regular sandal one. Its mind blowing. Great smell, all natural with lot of herbs. Its green in colour and beutiful smelling.
Chandrika and medimix is more powerful than any so called fragrance soaps like wildstone or anyother Its a very pleasant and addictive fragrance ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hey Sir, this video is very knowledgeable....great work! Sir can you suggest me some natural Perfume and attar or even bakhoor, who smells like mysore sandal aggarbatti
