He's seriously in his 70s ?? He looks so much younger. Really joyful and youthful, bless him. Hope I get to meet him one day. His records are timeless.
Oh wow, you're an actual engineer/producer.. no way!!! Just like billions of other people with a laptop full of plugins. Let everyone know when you produce/engineer classic work that meets or exceeds all the CRAP that Eddie Kramer worked on.
clarkewi .... the new pop stars isn’t about talent it’s about looks. It’s all about how they look. For example Can ANYONE name even ONE good song by Selena Gomez? She has a corporation crafting a jail bait image. Just absolute garbage these days. It’s pretty sad
I left a 20.00 bill on a stage mangers desk in a theatre that did a live radio broadcast every Saturday night for many decades in the early 80's and it was still there when I came in the next Saturday morning.
Kramer spends a lot of time here talking about "The Cry of Love" Hendrix LP. Kind of ironic it went out of print for many years until recently. I owned it and "Rainbow Bridge" another great posthumous Hendrix release. Good to see that both are once again available.
I'm not necessarily a vinyl purist but I do appreciate physical media weather it's a vinyl LP or a CD booklet and I agree with what they were saying about live performances.
I think I’m tired of listening to old rockstars mumble about their lives and their music, I should just listen to Eddie Kramer tell me about them instead.
Vinyl is not nostalgia, not about the crackle. Digital music formats are derived from the quality baseline set by cd's in the 1980s; that was primitive early digital technology. Mp3's and aac's are further compressed versions of that crappy standard.
It was so much simpler then. The digital equipment certainly makes doing live shows so much easier in the fact that you can sound check and store bands that you have worked with in the past and then the next time you work with them just pull their setting ups and plug everything into the same channels. Minor adjustments per room or maybe they added an instrument and your off to the races.
Perfection sucks! Look at Louie Louie by the Kingsmen. After the guitar break, the drummer drops his stick, you can hear him say "f**k", and the band restarts the verse. This is on one of the greatest rock and roll records ever made. 'Nuff said!

You can tell Eddie really misses Jimi. Rest in Power Jimi.
Kramer came from an era with much higher standards.

Only 10 seconds into this interview and Eddie hits the nail on the head.

In the 80's they told us cd's were perfect sound forever. We disagreed. I am glad I was proven right
Great to see he's as cool as his work and credits are great !!!!
Record to tape, mix to tape and master and press on vinyl...
it`s all true...
I sure hope I look that good when I'm 73.
Eddie Kramer is soooooo cool!
God s words !!!! Agree with you
Love your fabulous work, Eddie, but I would NEVER go back to stinkin' vinyl!
If it's not on CD, it's not for me!
Stay with your stinky cds!
sausage machine LOL Kramer is so cool
The best pop music still comes from bands and indie kids, e.g. Phoenix and Lorde, respectively.
Miami Horror, Roosevelt, Cannons, etc.
Talking about sound quality, wouldn't this profit from a deesser?
Drug's sex rock & roll, it was the culture at that time.
I could have lived in the 70's and 80's my entire life. Great times
give me vinyl records reel2reel and tube audio anyday
There are differences in music. You can get real cheese or you can get the processed cheese. 😁

I'll be so glad when that cliche sandpaper dj voice goes out of style. The guy in the shades.
Same for the stupid Kid Rock hats.

No pro-tools for us,,non-web based recording gear seems to work well. Its all subjective I guess

Phys. Graffiti is crap, LZ3 is the pits, I mean lets be serious. LZ1 8/10, LZ2 10/10, LZ3 3/10, LZ4 10/10, the rest 4/10 and below.
bIg HilL yup... 1, 2 and 4 is what I owned... the rest sucked
So Led Zeppelin III, Houses of the Holy and Physical Graffiti all sucked...What the literal fuck are you talking about? Just wow...

HE COMES FROM THE AGE OF MUSICIANS NOT AMERICAN IDOL WINNERS!
Uncompressed audio sounds dull....Not warm.
Check out Greta Van Fleet...best new rock band in 40 years...

Best new rock band in 40 years...ignorant statement.
