Not to aviation nerd too much but what you pointed out are actually referred to as “canoes” or flap track fairing extensions. They house the mechanisms used to extend the flaps. The static wicks are the little tiny wire or antenna looking things attached to them. Cool logo though! Hope they adopt it!

This is insane! UA-cam suggested a video about someone finding the exact spot where your dad took a picture. I watched it, liked it, and then noticed he pinned your comment on the video. Out of curiosity, I clicked on your UA-cam profile and realized you actually post videos and it's not just a personal account! As I'm checking your videos roughly, the word 'logo' in the title of one of your videos jumped on me because my eyes trained to see that word since I'm a brand identity designer(self-taught). Given that your channel didn't seem about graphic design, I assumed it might be a generic logo sketch or something. But wow, I was surprised by the depth of your creative process. The execution of the logo might not be perfect, but your thinking is on point! What a crazy coincidence! I hope you manage to take your picture in that spot and good luck.
I've been a graphic designer and artist for over 35 years and I actually learned a thing or two from your exercise. Thanks! You're also right in that these designs/logos can take hours/days/weeks to work out and it looks like something you did on a restaurant napkin! I've gotten lost in a design that I love but something isn't right. When I figure it out I feel greatly relieved, thinking this shouldn't be this hard but it is. But I get great satisfaction from it.

Haha... thanks for the vote of confidence, ALTHOUGH, now that I look at it, it reminds me a bit of burrito 🌯😅 Don't get me wrong - burritos are basically my third favorite calorie-delivery system, but maybe not GREAT for an airline 😜

I still believe it looks great the way it is for EVA AIR, although you could tweak it slightly so that you would be happy with it, no burrito vibes.🙂 Definitely would hire you to replace their current graphic. Great design Maurice, but it kind of looks like a takeaway coffee cup and when you showed it on the check in counter it looked like a take away coffee pickup point

I'm always trying to improve my life (with little to no effect😂) but if I could choose how to view the world and my work, I would love it to see them like you do. I'm not a designer but I work in communications and I use illustrator and Photoshop every day, and the copy and paste just in case a don't like the changes is la like a trade mark for me. Would love to see more of your impromptu designs. Even if you don't consider yourself a professional, one of your advantages is bringing that fresh perspective that learning something too technically crushes out of you! Pros and cons of both. As a freelance designer I think your logo idea is great. I loved seeing your process and the different ways you branched off.

At first it looked like a bit of a trash can to me then I thought it was a tea cup to represent drinking tea on the plane? Not until I watched the video fully it was a plane window. I personally like the original graphic better because I straight away know it’s a plane however you knocked the text out of the ball park especially the star on the i and the colour use.

The way people are using this term inflationary actively contributes to washing out the meaning and adds to the stereotypes people have about OCD. I know there's no I'll intention here and you might actually have OCD. But I just wanted to leave a thought on casually using terminology from the field of psychology and the damage it can do.
You’re right. EVA has a horrible logo. Nice job on the redesign. If I were designing it I would have used the star as the hole on the A in AIR instead of over the I.
I scrolled all the way to the end so I wouldn't get persuaded one way or another towards a specific design element, and, sorry, but that logo looks like a bear swiped at a cup of hot chocolate.
