They were fucking big - the impact they have had on me is fucking huge - I'll play this shit to my kid and he'll play it to his kid.... fucking love the stone roses - what more is there to say.... great band, PERFECT ingrediants and mix!
It's not only impressing to watch the complicated drumming by Reni, but the fact that he also does backing vocals is just something I can't believe... how the hell does he manage to do that!? Genius!
What I would do to see the Roses live. Really. To blame Squire over Brown though is a joke, their relationship broke down, simple as. It happens. Beautiful music, great times!
@@ChubbyChecker182 ha, I totally forgot about this comment, can't believe it's been 13 years. Yes, I saw them about 5 times when they reformed, including Heaton Park. Fantastic stuff, though the last one I went to at Wembley wasn't great, I really felt their heart wasn't in it by that point. Splitting up again was the right thing.
First time I've heard that reason for leaving. I don't think anyone can know exactly what went on, there are many sides to the story, I think. The fact is they clearly weren't getting on and nobody can blame John for leaving if he wanted to leave. As much as I miss them..
John playing his specially made guitar, has the body of a fender bass and fender tele style humbuckers? I can't remember exactly, but I did read all about it somewhere.
Was made by a guy called Stuart Palmer - the template was Strat horns and an over-sized Jaguar body. I owned the sunburst one for a few years after Squire sold it back to Palmer when he left the band the first time. The thing weighed a tonne which is why I sold it on a few years before the reunion for nowhere near what I'd have got in 2012... of course , they were never going to reform, right..?!

Did you get to see them post 2011 ?
I had a great 2012 and 2013 seeing them 7 times, was worth the wait since I last saw them in Ally Pally in 89 ✌️

wonder why john didn't do his solo at the end....
....needed to fit other tunes in I guess - the gig edit...
What goes up...
15 years later I'm still cross that the best band of my teens arent the U2/Led Zep/Beatles of the era .... wretched guitarist-singer-ego combo.
@jarmoujo Me too!
John should have soloed
He did....he was terrible
this song is a great song - but you can tell squire was starting to get up himselves - i mean the guitar is one big guitar solo
lol intro
Ian Brown was a terrible live singer.
