Aren’t they just wonderful models! Yes; thank you! I asked Dan at Derails models to test all of his stock when I bought it, and send me the best running one!!
Hi Tim, it is a Rudd. These were BR 80s rebuilds of earlier built ‘Grampus’ type wagons - the overhauls gave them air brakes, reinforced/rebuild ends and roller bearings. This is a lightly modified and detailed N gauge Society kit.
Not really - it was early 1990s, a Haymarket repaint with the wrong paint I think... so old Railfreight grey at the top and almost BR blue 'grey' on the bottom! I repainted a 'General grey' liveried Farish 08.
@@JamesHiltonCustomModelRailways ah ok thanks, my dad worked for RFD and I was on the lookout for an RFD n gauge 08 a while back, if and when I take the n gauge plunge it’ll probably be a BR blue one to replicate the one stabled at Northampton station in the late 90s/early noughties that I saw regularly when we lived in those parts. But an RFD one would be a contender too! Yours looks great 👍
I quote from the description "Join me for a short interlude at Paxton Road this Sunday, as 08791 drops off a Rudd wagon in the yard"... in the UK, especially in the 90s, there wasn't much of a service on Sunday - hence the title and content. Hope you enjoyed it.
The 08 looks really good James. I think this is the layout that one can never get bored of, it's absolutely brilliant!
Thank you, what started as an experiment has quickly proven to be the perfect distillation of the model railway itself.
Excellent and inspiring 👍👍👍✌️😊
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
That 08 is fantastic very impressive repaint/weathering

Love your videography/cinematography 👍😀OperateOnOperator
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
what type of 4 wheel open wagon is it propelling?

@JamesHiltonCustomModelRailways ah ok thanks i might get one then. I just like how short it is and the stretcher bar between the axle boxes.
You'd never guess this was n scale, looks great James. The couplings are they greenwich ones, the hooks look like them but the loops look different?
Hi Andy, thanks! The couplings are DG.
Very nice, is that 08 in RFD livery?

Farish did one in RfD euro with the blue roof… I’ve got 6 of these now, all different, all wonderful.
@
Thanks I’ll keep an eye out for one of those, and for a blue one, a Grafar BR blue one does seem to be a right of passage for N.
My own is actually a respray as they never sell the blue ones off at a good price!
Sunday Service? I’ve only seen one shunter running!!
