There are many vloggers on UA-cam but I honestly enjoy watching your videos because of your kind voice. Your expression shows that you are a good man!!! I am from CSUN
Always enjoy learning where some of the great talents practiced and recorded their music. Jah is such a sweetheart!! Also good to see you hanging out with your friends! Have a super day!!
So cool so much great music came out of that place. That's awesome you're doing more shirts ! Thanks for the great vlog and Michael's place looks amazing.
I love Michael's home! I think I would pretty much live outside if I had that property. Think of all of the fruit and vegetables you could grow there! What a great yard.
Thanks for sharing! Ah, the memories with the late great Johnny, once a great and close personal friend, as he was to many. Thanks for keeping the history alive!
Great vlog. Loving learning about places I didn't know about. Michael sure has a great view from his place. Thanks for taking us along. Can't wait to see where we go tomorrow.
Jordan my friend, your becoming a jack of all trades. A fantastic vlogger, an actor, musicians now a fashion designer. Where does the talent end? Great stuff!
Trevor Sowerby I agree, Jordan is an amazing person. He could travel across the U.S. and never have to pay for a meal... Who would refuse him anything?!?
Has it been almost a year already....Mikael & Christina's BarBQ looks mouth watering...a gathering of good friends and food during the summertime...what can I say...good to see a happy tail wag from Jah...take care everyone...
Nice friends for a nice guy. I'm tempted to make a tie dyed shirt because you make it look way too easy. And Jah! I love that little dog! Have a Great day.
The studio was very interesting. Jah loves him some Tailwaggers. Life's pleasures to eat and hang out with good friends😊. Your becoming a pro with those shirts!!! Much love to you and Jah ❤
Huuuuge Doors fan. When I was a kid thought I was Jim Morrison. Working on "Love me two times" transcribed Ray Manzarek's solo to guitar! Only one I ever saw sing AND play was Robbie Krieger. Riff changes 4 times. Guy's the best! Peach pie and grilling sent me to the 'fridge. Great time Jordan thank you.Jah!
Jordan, your vlog inspired me to track down a rare vinyl copy of 'Band For Hire' by 84 Nash. It just arrived from Japan and sounds killer! It's like the soundtrack to Daze With Jordan the Lion!
I love your vlogs, haven't been on in a while but I'm really into the old history of Los Angeles since I was born in North Hollywood back in the old hay day
Such a scenic and interesting vlog as usual Jordan. You're blogs are made even more fun when you have your side kick (or should I say, when he has his) in the vlog. Jah knows how to work the camera alright, I can't get free chicken from anyone, not even free treats from the pet store. Love that little guy!
Gotta Love that Jah. Give him some really good scratches and pets for me. OkeeDokee? I really Enjoy your commentary and attention to the substance of the vlogs. A Great Day To Be Alive! Good Friends, Good Food, Great Dog, Good Day, Jordan and Jah. : ) Gonna be some perdy tie-dyed shirts.
Turning the sign on at the beginning of the vlog...I like it! Not sure if you turned it off when the vlog was over cuz the screen went black, but that’d be perfect. You’re an awesome young man, and I appreciate the time and effort you put into entertaining me! By the way...I’ve watched a gazillion of your videos but apparently have missed the one that explains the reason for Jordan “the Lion.” Just curious, if/when you have time to say. Love & Peace from a Gramma in Texas
The studio actually opened in 1980 after a year and a half of construction. Prior to that it was a dance studio and grocery store. Four of us built the studio and then three of us were the original engineers. Some of my greatest memories are from my time at Skyline.
I’m curious: is the house that Randy California and his step-dad Ed Cassidy (both from the band Spirit) shared with other members of the group and Dr Demento somewhere close by? I always heard their communal house was in the Topanga Canyon area. Inspired their song “Topanga Window”. Great band Spirit- “I Got a Line On You” is one of the all time great rock & roll songs, certainly one of the quintessential LA songs…
That was pretty interesting what talent! If only those walls could talk! Your supper looked good! If you & Breck keep making shirts/sheets you might as well set up shop somewhere!! LOL! Another great vlog!
Love Topanga Canyon Jordan. Thanks for showcasing the studio. Very interesting. Well, looks like you got roped into more Tie die shirts.... 🤨 Pretty awesome..... Another idea would be to tie die some shirts with Jah"s print on it. I'm just saying..... 🙂 I really like the distressed jacket with patches you have though. One of these days, I'll get around to making my own. Anyhow, I'll catch you on the next vlog Jordan. Take care..... Arthur Childs, Oak Harbor, WA.
There was a car in front of the studio... have you knocked & asked if it's still a studio. Thanks for sharing, I love this kind of history & I'm going to look up what albums were recorded there... so cool! The bbq looked yummy...
I've always wanted to see Topanga Canyon since that's where Gary Hinman lived. He wa1s the first Manson Murder. Scott Michaels movie shows his house, or what you can see of it. Jah must have a full tummy! Bless him and YOU.
I went there once. Some dude who looked like stevie ray Vaughn was staying there. He had one of stevies guitars and a jonh Bonham drum kit. He also had a picture of stevie passed out drunk on a curb. Very nice man. Hope he's well
I recorded there when they went digital. It was around 1984. Was ok except engineer didn't set mics up right so had to re record ALL cymbal crashes. Lol. It was a cool studio. Henry Lewy was helping produce my demo album. Joni Mitchell lived up the street. Went with Henry to meet her but...alas she wasn't home.
I know right, it's been a minute! I remember using a giant paper cutter in complete darkness to make strips for test prints. It was color so, there could be no light or the paper would get fogged. The good old days.
At the 3:00 mark, that’s a Beesler Darkroom enlarger for making prints out of photo negatives. I used those in my college years. Thank you for your vlogs. They are fantastic!
So, I don't know if you (Daze with Jordan the Lion) will see this, but my family built Topanga Skyline Recording as it was called originally, and later as Skyline Recording. My Dad, Ron Bacon, and brother, (who was engineer on Knocked Out Loaded) designed the studio. My whole family took the shell of the building and worked to create a great state-of-the-art studio in 1978 (not 1972). Chicago 16 was recorded there, and we have a gold album from that. I was the studio manager, and I remember finding a piece of paper that was left in the Xerox machine that we had, and it was the lyrics for "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" written in pencil. I took the paper out and gave it to David Foster. Great times at Skyline. If you would like the full Monty on the studio, please message me. My Dad, who is 91 years old, is still alive. I shared your video with him and said, "Daddy, here's part your legacy." (He loved watching your dog get treats, by the way.) He was a TV Director for 35 years from the ground floor up. My brother might be interested in correcting some of the inaccuracies and sharing the true history of Topanga Skyline Recording.
I’m alone now so I feel like this is my party, too. You’re lucky you got invited the earliest! Say, what would happen if you knocked on the door of that big studio we visited? Thanks 🙏🏻
All of those artists were before Johnny's time there. Johnny didn't own it, his friend did. I was there for over a year as a "manager" which was wild experience in the mid 90's. J.P. was cool though, wild man. Think of him often and the nostalgia of that time is ripe. Sir Doug quintet is awesome, Doug Sahm was a genius. Johnny told great stories for sure, I remember plenty.
Still really enjoying all of your vlogs Jordan from here in lil ol' Sheffield, England. Looking at your gas prices I would've paid twice that much here even at Costco. When it comes to Laurel Canyon or Topanga Canyon I wonder do you refer to the late great Dave McGowan's Weird Scenes research at all? It's comprehensive. I wouldn't be surprised if Greg Carlwood would be amenable to a hook up and tour with you. Perhaps for a future show? Best regards from Blighty
One happy tail wagger .... hahaha. Im really gettn 2 know Topanga, now its skyline studios an all its talent it inhabited. "BOB DYLAN" YEh!! Cheif chef on the hop.
Love you and Jah so much! Y’all always brighten my day ❤️❤️

Fun stuff! Nice to see Michael's beautiful home again. Wondering if that studio was originally built as a house??? Very cool.

At 3:00 looks like an old enlarger for making prints in the darkroom.
I used them during the last hurrah of film daze
Looking forward to seeing the ponytail tie dye shirt!
You're right. It does look like an enlarger.
It's been so long since I've used one, I forgot what they looked like!
I know right, it's been a minute! I remember using a giant paper cutter in complete darkness to make strips for test prints. It was color so, there could be no light or the paper would get fogged. The good old days.

I used to live right by there. Used to drive by Captain Beefheart's house.
