@@buckschneider7973 I think they look just as good, albeit in totally different ways. The pre-rendered backgrounds aged, surprisingly, like a fine wine, imo. And the amount of gory detail you find in 4's models and environements are equally impressive.
RE1 will eventually get another remake. It's too good of a gold mind for Capcom to pass up. A 1st person, 3rd person Over The Shoulder, or even VR version wold make revisiting the game even more worth it. Not many like static cameras and tank controls save for niche enthusiasts.
I personally would love for them to remake the first resident evil. Expand on the STARS so they’re not just zombie food. I’d switch up how the player story works, instead of the other character just being locked away treat it like RE2 Jill makes her way through the front, Chris got in another way. Add little Easter eggs for what’s to come and give Chris more storage.
Honestly I hope so I would love the original game in the modern style maybe even with and unlockable campaign that covers the events of re zero possibly even having that one be co-op
As someone who just got into RE last month with 1 remake, I gotta say that game really felt timeless to me. The controls while seemingly clunky around the movement and combat actually have a surprising amount of depth and when you figure this game out mechanically it become a blast to play. On top of that while I originally found the set camera angles to be a nuisance, I quickly came around to realize the beauty it adds to the game when combined with the surprisingly high quality backgrounds and the amazing soundtrack (that first save room hit different). Overall after 100%ing 1 remake and then 0, I have to say I actually wish there were versions of 2 and 3 made in the same style as 1 remake was. Do I think the game would be worse off if updated to fit the new RE engine? Not if they gave it the same love and care they gave it with the first remake and remaster. However do I think that 1 remake is in desperate need of another new modern rendition? Certainly not.
The classic RE style format is classic and original. They cannot remake this game. Imagine if we got RE2make and RE3make in this exact original style. Would've been way better.
The fix camera help to build up tension and make jump scare actually scary, bc you cant see around the corner, you dont know what is there, you only hear the sound

@@mr.sinjin-smyth Thats largely because many are told that tank controls and fixed cameras are bad and usually never try for themselves. If they do try them they already have the notion in their mind that "tank controls and fixed camera is bad" so alot of people tend to look at it that way, especially if you have like-minded people in your social circle that say these things aswell, not many people like to go against the grain so to speak. @Boofenious here is an example of someone giving a fair shot and they actually enjoyed it. Also its part of Biohazard/Resident Evil's identity and their negative stigma is largely due to people being told they're bad and also because most never give it a fair try. If you do try and not like it, thats fine. Trying to argue its irrelevant and only niche is kinda pointless since RE1 sold pretty well, both originally on the gamecube as Capcom were surprised at the positive sales at the time and it sold even better with the remaster, despite what many would have you believe. That said yes unfortunately current Capcom and the current fandom don't show enough appreciation for classic RE and likely it will mean RE1 gets another remake, which in my opinion it doesn't need.
The remake was awesome! I played it on my PS5 full screen mode and on my 55 inch tv through surround sound system and it was an extremely immersive experience! If they did remake it, they could do either a first person version like RE 7 and RE 8 or over the shoulder like the RE 2 and RE 3 Remakes.
I agree that Dino Crisis would be a better game to remake first if Capcom still intends to go down this remake route that they have been going down for so long. That, or Code Veronica would both be better options for remakes before remaking the OG Resident Evil for the second time. I feel like a remake could be great though for both story consistency, and a new kind of horror with RE2R-RE4R's 3rd person view and controls.
sorry RE1 Remake is a true remake, even if there are tank controls. It is far more than a remaster, there are new areas, couple of new mechanics like quick turn. So it is absolutely wrong to call or even think that it is just a graphical remaster of a ps1 game for crissake!
I dunno so the remake of re 1 is a masterpiece imo. The original re4 is a masterpiece which the remake for that, they hit the ball out of the park. I’d say they if they remake another RE do code Veronica, it has a lot of flaws that can be fixed. Plus fighting wesker at the end would be sooo much better than the cutscene we got

So the remakes of 2-4 cut content to make the story and setting “realistic” as possible. RE2 remake drop the ball half way thru when it comes to character scenarios especially in the sewer to the nest lab. The 1st run have one of our heroes reaching the RPD first and leaving it first. 2nd run has the character arriving and leaving late . On 2nd run the starting point and item locations are different, while the puzzle are the same when 1st run player should have solved it all by now. The sewer and nest route are limited and puzzles are the same. The only way to explain why Leon and Claire haven’t bump into each other is by arrival time difference. The ball get dropped even more to the point of alternate universe when encountering Annette and G form birkin right after getting the G sample from the lab as the place falls apart. The original and 2002 remake of 1 make one of the playable characters you didn’t pick a prisoner along with their partner being non-existent to point of KIA/MiA. Umbrella chronicle realistically have the heroes stick together with Barry being MIA and Rebecca rescued. Plus the application of gameplay changes of a RE1 double remake can make or break an immersion. RE2 remake zombie encounters are not just bullet sponges, but debunk headshots . The RE2-3 remake have players decapitating limbs to effectively kill zombies. In the 2002 remake the camera and control give off the implication that aim was shaken from fear hence random critical headshots. Plus the 2002 remake has the tactical zombie killing to prevent crimson heads vs RE2-3 remake where crimson heads don’t exist and we just shoot off legs.
I would greatly prefer them to Remake this game next over 5 and Code Veronica. It’s always bothered me having my REmake collection starting with 2, it just doesn’t look right…
I really don’t see any point in doing so Resident Evil 1 Remake is already as perfect as possible Unless you really want to explore the mansion in third person which I feel like can be accomplished if Capcom remakes RE5 and includes lost in nightmares which is pretty much a guarantee if we actually get an RE5 remake All in all don’t see much point in remaking the game again

I think this would be the best next step for the series. These RE engine remakes are stunning but the revisions they’ve made to each story have probably been my favorite thing. And if Capcom continues with these remakes they probably should tighten up the start of the timeline before jumping to RE5-RE6, or addressing a Code Veronica remake.
I would love to see a remake of the remaster of RE1. I never played the original back in the day, but I find it way too clunky with the controls and the static camera to enjoy. Believe me, I tried. The HD graphics are fine, it is just the mechanics. Even though I started playing computer games in the 1980s, I have a really hard time going back too far with these older games. What is the downside to doing a remake of the same quality of RE2 and RE4? There will be a small number of hard core OG fans who will bitch about the new game, same as they have with the RE4. So what? They will be outnumbered and the game will sell like hotcakes just like the other latest remakes.
An easy way to fix the camera debate is to add both, have a resident evil 4 remake over-the-shoulder camera and a classic mode or something where it's like the original camera angles from the og resident evil
I have some ideas of what can be expanded on. 1. a Rebecca Chapter following her from RE0 2. a Barry Chapter: have him face off against some other bosses/monsters not included in remake or original game as well as Wesker's manipulation of him 3. a Wesker Chapter: taking elements from umbrella Chronciles; delve into his ties to the rival company, Ada Wong, connections and the other strains he could be interested in (allude towards the NES parasyte, Lisa Trevor and any possible tyie to the Las PLagas parasyte as well as a boss fight between him and Lisa ) 4. Billy Coen CHapter: fully finalize what became fo him after RE0 (which should be done for Carlos as well) But hell yea: Dinocrisis should get a remake, along with ONImusha (and Devil May cry 1)
I beat the game for the first time a day ago and it surprised me how much content was in the game. Lots of locations and puzzles. They could really up the game with more enemies, cutscene, lore, ext:. I think remastering it in first person or over the shoulder would be legit.
The purpose of remaking a game is not just to update the graphics and gameply but to introduce the game to the new generation. Like it or not, controls and gameplay hasn't really aged well. Even though I believe that RE 1 Remake will always be the definitive edition (since Shinji Mikami's himself said that), remaking the RE 1 would be a wise creative and business decision for Capcom. I just hope that they won't do it soon so that we can take advantage of future technology to maximize the experience
They should remake it only if expands the original narrative. The beginning is the build-up to Arklay Mountain incident, then the Spencer Mansion incident and finally the aftermath. So we would get a lot of raccoon city, the police station and the STARS experience.
If anything the RE0 should be a unlockable campaign after beating the game with both Chris and Jill. The campaign allow you to play as Rebecca as the story of RE0 unfold along with joining up with Richard in the mansion like the 2 did on umbrella chronicle.
I think the fact that the original remake exists leaves room for an updated one to experiment more, because now you have a version people can go back to no matter how they feel about a new one
Yes it could and i think it could be made better by doing so. They can upgrade the re engine again and then use that to make this game again with cutting edge tech and no cut content. I would rather have 5 done again and better though in the exact same setting with the exact same enemies. There was nothing racist about that game
It really is not racist they had tribes like that so if anything it's representating Africa's ancient culture not offending it I loved RE5 still do n if it get remade I hope it's scarier then original co op is chained so you go off each others moves n darker theme more evening n night get rid of most of daylight swap it for scarier bits n we we golden
it would be more of a reboot instead of a remake, since they already remade the game, but its been a long time ago. thiw can be referenced to when modern warfare was remastered, then went to modern warfare 2019 as a "reboot"
I personally would love another RE1 Remake in the RE Engine. Probably one of my favorite locations in all of gaming with one of my favorite characters - Jill Valentine. Sign me up for spending more time there
I think RE1 should get another remake I know it sounds sacrilegious cause the first remake is already perfect, but I want the game to be in the RE Engine and just to see the Spencer Mansion in today's graphics, especially AFTER VIllage. I really also want there to be a definitive ending where we can get the ending where Chris, Jill, Barry and Rebecca all survive together!! But what else I'd like to see -Updated with the next gen graphics in the RE Engine, obvious -The atmosphere and tension of the Spencer Mansion in the new age and basically RE1 meets Village. The visual aesthetic of Village’s Castle Dimitrescu for Spencer Mansion. -Better characterization. Flesh out all the characters. Improve the plot/story. Chris the mines and Jill the guard house. Expand the mansion, and when they separate at the start they pick up different keys and access different areas. -Chris and Jill’s campaigns to be separate and different, so by the time they meet at the end they’ve both had their own adventure That way they story would be canon regardless of what happens, and there would be some variety. Also have Rebecca and Richard as playable paths, similar to Sherry and Ada in RE2R. -A playable Wesker mode with him having to move about the mansion and into the lab under a certain amount of time. -Also would like them to keep the REmake music (especially the save room theme), though they could always release a Deluxe Edition like 2R with the OG music too? Additions. I would be happy with an entire new floor in the Spencer Mansion. Or making the Residence 3x as long. Adding a forest section, either during the opening and/or later in the game. Extended playable sequences for Rebecca and Barry - different locations for each, like how the Orphanage was entirely new for Sherry in 2R. An abandoned greenhouse near the guardhouse with Plant -42 and similar experimentation , an extended cemetery with more tombs, a third floor in Spencer Mansion, more floors in guardhouse, etc. -Throw the players off by changing the keys and rooms -Zombies and every other BOW in the first game -Defense weapons and headstomping -Crimson Heads -Lisa Trevor(she could work like as a stalker enemy) -Same notes, but add in some new ones -All the puzzles, but mix it up -Just give us "One more second and you were ALMOST A JILL SANWICH" let Barry be the cheesy bastard that we know him to be -Stick with the REVIll face model for Chris, but younger and less steroids. -Stick with the RE3R face model for Jill, but don't let it look like she just got out of being dipped in the sewer -Potentially: include Zero in this. They could always add Rebecca as a third unlockable character after you finish the Jill and Chris storylines, so you can see her adventures with Billy. Maybe as a DLC? If they did, maybe revise the Marcus story too. The whole Opera leeches is stupid, so just have it be revealed that Marcus is acting on Spencer’s instructions by releasing the T-Virus, and maybe reveal that Marcus was behind the Arklay murders and that is why S.T.A.R.S. is sent to investigate. If Zero isn't included, either subtle hints that this isn't Rebecca's first time with zombies or retcon it (I'd hate to lose Zero though!). -More of Bravo Team. Possibly through flashbacks. Terrifying Forest zombie scene like in REmake. More details on Enrico. -More flashbacks to the Alpha S.T.A.R.S. members who didn’t make, like just see the Team in their office and see the good times before they are called on the rescue mission. -Bonus costumes For Chris:Made In Heaven outfit, BSAA outfit, CVX STARS outfit For Jill:RE3 original and Remake, BSAA, RE:Resistance, and RE5 Battle Suit. -A more subtle and mysterious Wesker. We all know he betrays us in the end, but maybe in Chris’ playthrough, show him helping us more throughout the game As for how we could get the best ending aka all 4 members survive. So my big idea to make this happen is this. If we play as Jill, Chris makes it to the mansion with us. Jill and Barry go and investigate, while Chris and Wesker are outside. They vanish. Richard will mention that Rebecca Chambers left the mansion after hearing Brad's radio and went to get help. We will later see Rebecca in the cell with Chris in Jill’s story. For Chris' story, Barry makes it to the Mansion. Chris investigates the gunshot while Wesker will say they will split up and investigate the Mansion and everyone vanishes. Later in the game before we get to the lab, there would be a dropped Barry's photograph. Later when we get to the cell, Barry will be in the cell with Jill. Barry apologizes to Chris for what he's done and Chris understands why he did what he did and he can help make things right. Ultimately in both playthroughs, all 4 S.T.A.R.S. members work together to fight the Tyrant until ultimately Chris or Jill destroys the Tyrant with the rocket launcher. It ends with all 4 members escaping in the chopper as the Mansion explodes.
The remake for this game is Soo good. It’s perfect. I always found it odd that capcom started remaking the games from resident evil 2. I believe this is because either they are satisfied with the original 2002 remake. Or they believe that this game relies too much on the fixed camera angle and tank controls to be remade in a new engine and being 3rd person. Personally I don’t see the need for a remake. And honestly I rather them work on something else. On that note a remake of any resident evil past 4 is honestly not needed either. Re5 and 6 are too modern to need a remake. It be kinda pointless.
For me need a remake and add some extra mode like Albert Wesker scape scenario in Spencer mansion before the mansion explode because in resident evil umbrella chronicles there's a game mode Wesker scape scenario like RE2 hunk scape scenario
9:44 wow nice shot of Tyrant hitting the rocket at the EDGE of a frame! This is why this game needs to be played in 4:3. So many shots ruined in the new ratio cuz they have to stretch and zoom.
I would have numerous concerns, if they were to attempt another remake of RE1. But If a second RE1 Remake had to be done, I think this is the one feature that could most justify its existence. I shared this detailed idea with UA-camr waterwashed and am copying it below, in case you would like it too… 1.) Have the second remake act as the one version of RE1, where we finally get to see the canon ending and Wesker’s apparent return from the dead, within the game itself. That is, rather than RE: Code Veronica suddenly bringing him back, in a way that could come off as an extreme retcon, and his escape from the Arklay Mansion only being shown in the Umbrella Chronicles spinoff. 2.) When you first play the game, your two campaign options would be titled “Classic Jill” and “Classic Chris”. Those would each play out as self-contained non-canon scenarios with multiple alternate endings, almost identical to the campaign structure found in the previous two versions of RE1. 3.) However, once you complete one or both of these starter campaigns, a third campaign type will be unlocked: “The True Events”. 4.) When you start up that unlocked third campaign and get through its opening, you will instead hear Wesker’s voice narrating that Chris, Jill, and Barry all made it to the mansion with him. 5.) The player will immediately find out that they have both Chris and Jill under their command, almost like a prototype RE0 Remake or RE5 Remake. You can swap which one you are controlling, have the two of them exchange items, utilize both characters’ unique weapons, make them split up, and have each of them perform tasks with their personal lighter/lock-pick (no small keys or extra lighter would be needed). As an alternative to an A.I. controlling the opposite partner, maybe the player could be allowed to invite an online buddy for coop play. 6.) You would get to interact with both Barry and Rebecca over the course of the campaign, and you would be required to keep both of them alive, as it culminates in the canonical ending. 7.) To account for Jill, Chris, Barry, and Rebecca all being present, some of the cutscenes, resource/enemy quantities, and boss stats would be altered. The Tyrant at the end would especially be buffed, with all four characters teaming up against it. 8.) Since neither Chris nor Jill would spend the whole scenario locked in a cell, unlocking that cell with the M.O. disks will instead yield a cache of extra supplies, invaluable for taking on the buffed Tyrant. 9.) To keep players from using the partner mechanics to break the game, the player might be barred from entering a different location and progressing past certain points, without both Chris and Jill being present. 10.) Finally, once you complete “The True Events”, you will unlock a bonus minigame called “Wesker’s Rebirth”. The object of that minigame is to take control of Wesker and escape the Arklay Mansion, utilizing his newfound powers, like in that chapter of RE: The Umbrella Chronicles. Once you defeat Lisa Trevor and finish the level, you will see a cutscene of Wesker escaping alive, while Brad Vickers flies off with Chris/Jill/Rebecca/Barry all in his helicopter. *There are other ideas I had in mind, but this has been my main one.*
I wish that they would remake resident evil 1 and give it the same modernize controls as two three and four as well as a code Veronica remake still holding out for a dino crisis remake
My personal humble opinion... I never liked the fixed cameras in Resident Evil and they did it perfectly with Resident Evil 2 reimagining it can happen again and the first Resident Evil Resident Evil 0 too
What about encountering the train from RE0. Id like to see 4 scenarios from chris, jill, barry and rebecca that makes sense. Definitely have to change things since i think right away wesker kidnaps jill. I dont mind retcons at all. I just want a game thats even better than re4 remake
RE1 will eventually get another remake. It's too good of a gold mind for Capcom to pass up. A 1st person, 3rd person Over The Shoulder, or even VR version wold make revisiting the game even more worth it. Not many like static cameras and tank controls save for niche enthusiasts.
It obviously can. Graphics wise it holds up against older RE games but isnt even at the same level of RE Engine games, gameplay still has the jank ass tank controls and static camera, the pre-rendered backgrounds look like ass on anything higher than 480p because there isnt any proper HD version of them, the voice acting, while miles better than the OG, still feels like a typical 90s anime when compared to any modern RE game. There is so much that can be done in a remake
enough with the remakes, if the "excuse" to remake the 1st RE again is to have barry or rebecca present is not worth it, capcoms writing team is garbage, as much i kinda like the recent remakes it's not worth it to have the characters and story bastardized again, and you can be 100% sure they'll cut too much and to make it "modern" it will lose everything the 02 remake has that makes it so good just for better "camera" and "gameplay".Just let the franchise rest for a while.
No it's not hard especially with the new engine I'm all for it lets get it especially knowing it will have a super realistic look as the recent resident evil 4 remake and those prior yes lets get it
There's nothing meaningful, to me, stopping the current team from having their own version of the first Resident Evil 1. I would rather see it because I also feel like it would play to their strengths.
They would have to alter the game drastically for over the shoulder gameplay... I'm not against the idea but it would probably turn out to be more contentious than RE2, 3 and 4 remakes Also if they do and not keep the multiple endings, then just don't even bother Capcom
I just wanna know what’s canon, who fought and killed what? And have Barry and Rebecca show up in both play throughs (obviously Barry is more involved in Jill’s campaign while Rebecca is more involved in Chris’s)
I have yet to experience the re4 reimagining, but given how they did with REs 2 & 3, I DO NOT have faith in Capcom doing the game justice. Re2 and 3 reimaginings are perfectly fine standalone games; the issue is that they cut out all of the features that made the og games what they are/were, which is why they fail as remakes. If they remake the REmake, they'd better use the same additive formula that they used originally. Otherwise, they can keep it💯 Also, Zero should be remade first with re1 in mind. Again, with the additive formula. If executed correctly, Capcom could remove some inconsistencies between classic 0 and 1 while opening doors to further expand re1 rather than downgrading it and slapping a new coat of paint on it.
I would honestly be skeptical of another RE1 Remake. REmake was already perfect that it seems unnecessary and almost setting its self for failure when the bar is so high. At the same time though, I'm curious as to how the original game would play out with a modern gameplay style.
It feels crazy listening too and reading comments from people who are crying out for the games industry to be exactly like the movie industry. Why not make a new game!
It could be, but honestly with how 3 remake handled Jill I’m hoping they don’t. 3 remake Jill was such a massive departure from Jill valentine as a character and she’d trample remake 1’s atmosphere. Plus the higher stakes offered by remake 2 and 3 would make a re1 remake seem quaint and boring to a modern audience. I think something the resi community can’t parse is that some games just aren’t meant to be playable to everyone, like the dark souls games. I say this like the remaster doesn’t exist because apparently everyone forgets the remaster exists and we don’t need the remake, but regardless I know they’ll do it, but it’s not a great idea from a passion standpoint. Re3 if anything needs another remake, and I say remake, not directors cut.
I hope they remake the remake because as a new player, I JUST CAN'T. Tank controls, shit camera... Just remake it like re8 : a 3rd person view and first +vr as a dlc. So everyone is happy. And maybe more inventory space. Having to go back to store everything every 3s seconds because you need half your little inventory space just for BASICS stuff is annoying If i would play that game i would have 0 fun right now
1 might actually be too short to be remade in the RE Engine. No door loading screens would make the first mansion section extremely fast to get through. They'd have to add cut scenes at the least to pad out the running time. Or add new sections. I'd rather they remake Code Veronica next to finish up Claire's story. Her whole purpose in 2 was finding Chris, before she was trapped in the RPD and had to look after Sherry.
There is zero reason to remake RE1 remake. They would neuter the best parts of the game; fixed cameras angles.. gone. 30-40% of the content.. gone. Voice actors and original, classic dialogue that doesn't need to be changed.. gone. They ruined RE2 remake by doing this. They removed everything that made the game good. The zapping system is completely absent, A/B scenarios are absent (2nd run does not count, it's a half-assed retread of the 1st), areas of RC are gone, characters have been dumbed down and are stereotypical now, fixed camera angles have been switched to RE4's perspective for god knows what reason. RE3 remake should have been the last remake because the devs totally devastated the legacy of OG and RE3R with an unimaginable amount of mistakes. What's hilarious to me is that for RE4R they were like "QTE'S are outdated, so we removed them." But RE3R from 2020 is LITTERED with QTEs! RE3 OG from 1999 had no QTEs.. But people just eat up the garbage they keep putting out. They don't even know what they are talking about anymore. I pray they stop remaking games because they are just soiling the originals legacies. The only time they did a remake even half right was RE4R but even that game is missing content that should be there. RE1R is a true RE game from start to finish. It's definitively better than the original in every way and for a lot of people is the perfect RE game. Remaking that game would be franchise suicide.
In REmake2025 the mansion will be bigger and the intertwining Chris/Jill stories will improve continuity with REzero. RE4remake mechanics would be cool.
It'll be really hard to remake a game that still looks good to this day and is timeless

When they run completely dry of the current storylines, then I'd imagine them doing the first 1 from scratch.
They are going to do RE 5 next not cv. They did 2,3,4 and then...
RE1 will eventually get another remake. It's too good of a gold mind for Capcom to pass up. A 1st person, 3rd person Over The Shoulder, or even VR version wold make revisiting the game even more worth it. Not many like static cameras and tank controls save for niche enthusiasts.
I want all the resident evil games made like this remake it would be fire 🔥
I would greatly prefer them to Remake this game next over 5 and Code Veronica. It’s always bothered me having my REmake collection starting with 2, it just doesn’t look right…
Jill and Chris were fighting together in my headcanon. Not split up but together.
I really don’t see any point in doing so
Resident Evil 1 Remake is already as perfect as possible
Unless you really want to explore the mansion in third person which I feel like can be accomplished if Capcom remakes RE5 and includes lost in nightmares which is pretty much a guarantee if we actually get an RE5 remake
All in all don’t see much point in remaking the game again
RE1 will eventually get another remake. It's too good of a gold mind for Capcom to pass up. A 1st person, 3rd person Over The Shoulder, or even VR version wold make revisiting the game even more worth it. Not many like static cameras and tank controls save for niche enthusiasts.
@@mr.sinjin-smyth I don’t know
I feel like there so many games to redo before it like Devil May Cry, Dino Crisis, maybe Mega Man Legends at some point
As long as they include a remake of RE0 with a second RE1 remake because they take place a day apart. That can be another reason to play it again.
An easy way to fix the camera debate is to add both, have a resident evil 4 remake over-the-shoulder camera and a classic mode or something where it's like the original camera angles from the og resident evil
Took the words right out of my mouth 😎👍
It's not really that simple. The whole game has to be designed around it.
@@trashaimgamer7822 I guess they can just make 2 games modes
I have some ideas of what can be expanded on.
1. a Rebecca Chapter following her from RE0
2. a Barry Chapter: have him face off against some other bosses/monsters not included in remake or original game as well as Wesker's manipulation of him
3. a Wesker Chapter: taking elements from umbrella Chronciles; delve into his ties to the rival company, Ada Wong, connections and the other strains he could be interested in (allude towards the NES parasyte, Lisa Trevor and any possible tyie to the Las PLagas parasyte as well as a boss fight between him and Lisa )
4. Billy Coen CHapter: fully finalize what became fo him after RE0 (which should be done for Carlos as well)
But hell yea: Dinocrisis should get a remake, along with ONImusha (and Devil May cry 1)
I see REmake working as a RE7 kind of game. Also, they should combine REmake and RE0
Id like a game where its new but made like the old school re. See if people actually wabna dive back into that but with some novelty.
Yes it could and i think it could be made better by doing so. They can upgrade the re engine again and then use that to make this game again with cutting edge tech and no cut content. I would rather have 5 done again and better though in the exact same setting with the exact same enemies. There was nothing racist about that game
With exception of me playing it.
They would have to cut that one swamp area bc 1: it sucked. And 2: the whole african mask enemies is actually pretty racist 💀
Sign me up for spending more time there
This is my favorite resident evil but I really dont think it need a remake
needs to be put in PSVR2 VR with All the bells and whistles. i want clasic slow walk vr with the best vr graphics around . why not .
good clip each to their own i personal believe this could make a fantastic remake
Even if we don’t get RE1 remade again next. I do feel like it will happen eventually. Even if it’s 10 years from now
I think RE1 should get another remake I know it sounds sacrilegious cause the first remake is already perfect, but I want the game to be in the RE Engine and just to see the Spencer Mansion in today's graphics, especially AFTER VIllage. I really also want there to be a definitive ending where we can get the ending where Chris, Jill, Barry and Rebecca all survive together!! But what else I'd like to see
-Updated with the next gen graphics in the RE Engine, obvious
-The atmosphere and tension of the Spencer Mansion in the new age and basically RE1 meets Village.
Extended playable sequences for Rebecca and Barry
- different locations for each, like how the Orphanage was entirely new for Sherry in 2R. An abandoned greenhouse near the guardhouse with Plant
-42 and similar experimentation , an extended cemetery with more tombs, a third floor in Spencer Mansion, more floors in guardhouse, etc. -Throw the players off by changing the keys and rooms
-Zombies and every other BOW in the first game -Defense weapons and headstomping
-Crimson Heads
-Lisa Trevor(she could work like as a stalker enemy) -Same notes, but add in some new ones
-All the puzzles, but mix it up
-Just give us "One more second and you were ALMOST A JILL SANWICH" let Barry be the cheesy bastard that we know him to be
-Stick with the REVIll face model for Chris, but younger and less steroids.
-Stick with the RE3R face model for Jill, but don't let it look like she just got out of being dipped in the sewer
-Potentially: include Zero in this.
We all know he betrays us in the end, but maybe in Chris’ playthrough, show him helping us more throughout the game
As for how we could get the best ending aka all 4 members survive.
Would much rather a RE1 remake again, then a RE5 remake.
Oh since you mentioned the modding, WTF is up with all the naked models for all the recent games?
For me need a remake and add some extra mode like Albert Wesker scape scenario in Spencer mansion before the mansion explode because in resident evil umbrella chronicles there's a game mode Wesker scape scenario like RE2 hunk scape scenario
Resident Evil 30th anniversary Remake 2026 ??
9:44 wow nice shot of Tyrant hitting the rocket at the EDGE of a frame!
This is why this game needs to be played in 4:3. So many shots ruined in the new ratio cuz they have to stretch and zoom.
I would have numerous concerns, if they were to attempt another remake of RE1. But If a second RE1 Remake had to be done, I think this is the one feature that could most justify its existence. I shared this detailed idea with UA-camr waterwashed and am copying it below, in case you would like it too…
1.) Have the second remake act as the one version of RE1, where we finally get to see the canon ending and Wesker’s apparent return from the dead, within the game itself.
If it's another RE, it should either be 0 or Code Veronica
My personal humble opinion... I never liked the fixed cameras in Resident Evil and they did it perfectly with Resident Evil 2 reimagining it can happen again and the first Resident Evil Resident Evil 0 too
I’d purchase it and play it, no problem.
What about encountering the train from RE0. Id like to see 4 scenarios from chris, jill, barry and rebecca that makes sense. Definitely have to change things since i think right away wesker kidnaps jill. I dont mind retcons at all. I just want a game thats even better than re4 remake
Yes Please
The question isn't CAN it be remade again the question is SHOULD it be, and the answer to that is no.
It should
It should
It should
RE1 will eventually get another remake. It's too good of a gold mind for Capcom to pass up. A 1st person, 3rd person Over The Shoulder, or even VR version wold make revisiting the game even more worth it. Not many like static cameras and tank controls save for niche enthusiasts.
code veronica remake > re1 remake
It obviously can. Graphics wise it holds up against older RE games but isnt even at the same level of RE Engine games, gameplay still has the jank ass tank controls and static camera, the pre-rendered backgrounds look like ass on anything higher than 480p because there isnt any proper HD version of them, the voice acting, while miles better than the OG, still feels like a typical 90s anime when compared to any modern RE game. There is so much that can be done in a remake
Remake Resident Evil I would want them to, but I really want them to remake Dino Crisis first.
enough with the remakes, if the "excuse" to remake the 1st RE again is to have barry or rebecca present is not worth it, capcoms writing team is garbage, as much i kinda like the recent remakes it's not worth it to have the characters and story bastardized again, and you can be 100% sure they'll cut too much and to make it "modern" it will lose everything the 02 remake has that makes it so good just for better "camera" and "gameplay".Just let the franchise rest for a while.
Yes. It should be but not because of the gameplay, but to update the story to match the new timeline.
Also it would be cool to have RE2 style b scenarios
No it's not hard especially with the new engine I'm all for it lets get it especially knowing it will have a super realistic look as the recent resident evil 4 remake and those prior yes lets get it
Honestly I wish they would remake Haunting Ground before Dino Crisis
There is a reason they started this generation of remakes with 2 and not 1. Cause they have no intention of remaking 0 or 1.
They also didn’t want to remake 4
Hey already did that wt ur planing it's a fan made version it looks gud
There's nothing meaningful, to me, stopping the current team from having their own version of the first Resident Evil 1. I would rather see it because I also feel like it would play to their strengths.
I would rather that they redo the remakes of 2 & 3 in the style of the original REmake...
They would have to alter the game drastically for over the shoulder gameplay... I'm not against the idea but it would probably turn out to be more contentious than RE2, 3 and 4 remakes
Also if they do and not keep the multiple endings, then just don't even bother Capcom
Otherwise, they can keep it💯
Also, Zero should be remade first with re1 in mind.
Look at the fanbased version it's all there
RE1 remake is perfect. It can't be made better than it already is
It feels crazy listening too and reading comments from people who are crying out for the games industry to be exactly like the movie industry. Why not make a new game!
Could it? Sure? Should it? Nah
Having to go back to store everything every 3s seconds because you need half your little inventory space just for BASICS stuff is annoying
If i would play that game i would have 0 fun right now
1 might actually be too short to be remade in the RE Engine.
Length of the game didn't stop them from making re3make
I’d rather see a 0 remake
I hope not
There is zero reason to remake RE1 remake.
0 was supposed to be what ur talking about. but they did it wrong unfortunately
Yes please, i don’t like the fixed angle view
Easy answer: no.
Please, no.
LEAVE IT ALONE!!!! Remake RE3 Nemesis!!!
i still find strange that they didn't remade this game yet.
this one really deserves it. i don't like the tank controls, goodbye spiders.
RE 1 was already remade... If you don't like "tank controls", just play the newer ones.
Remastered release has updated controls so there is no reason to skip it
In REmake2025 the mansion will be bigger and the intertwining Chris/Jill stories will improve continuity with REzero. RE4remake mechanics would be cool.
