I just worry that they’ve waited too long. Most of the original team has left and it leaves me doubtful that this new team will be able to recapture that magic. The original may just be lightning in a bottle, but I’d love to be wrong.

It's not always a bad thing if the crew coming in is different. If they have the time and the goal in mind in dealing with the perfect organism, all will be fine haha. But honestly they should take their time, most things fail when rushed and have outside influences. I say that because many games have failed trying to keep up to expectations over time as well.
It's a whole, hell to the fans, hell to the producers, let's make this thing as it should be. Alien isolation was an unfair, unexpected, horror that no one saw coming from the company that made sonic. It was berated, it was put to the side, but it was more Alien then most of the movies were. It will depend on Disney to let it be. It won't be what we expect and I hope that's what it does.

You shouldn’t be. When i heard it first I was too, but then I remembered we live in a very different time. The old team is no longer together, and the whole project screams someone wanting to milk the cow dry. It will be the same soulless money grab as Romulus, and soil the legacy of a truly great game.

I dont care what anyone SAYS this game is PERFECT just the way it is and I'll continue to say that. I've enjoyed this title since 2014 n I'm a huge alien fan as this game not only enriches the existing IP but closed a major plot hole from aliens as well (IYKYK). I've beaten this game prob 50+ times, last time on nightmare with unpredictable alien mod w 4 aliens. "YES I may have an addiction to this game and I'm content with it"
I agree that they certainly need to add a mission skip for those dragged out areas like LV426 and that's probably the only thing that I'll agree on. People cry about it being TOO long but they ultimately fail to recognize what they're trying to convey to the player.. (Which always goes right over the younger generations and the tourists heads)
The fact that ANYTHING you do to try to counter the xenos almost always results in increasing the xenomorphs foothold. Ex: moving such a substantial portion of the station (satellite dishes) caused the xenos to discover they could traverse outside from investigating the vibrating and noise which results in them infiltrating otherwise secure areas causing more death and destruction. Or the purging of the alien hive results in the xenos scattering throughout the station and forces the queen xenomorph to start taking evasive movement from the hive into and towards the habitation area, making her go into OVERTIME laying eggs. Which caused face huggers to scatter as well resulting in more of an infestation.(Ricardos death)
The purging of the reactor caused the entire mess to go from the frying pan to into the fire. It's basically a war of attrition that serves to outlast n out pace everything else at the end cuz 1 step forward for the player always means 2 steps for the xenos as the perfect organism. They're virtually impossible to beat and this game shows that to those that are listening and watching. As far as the glitches people have with this?
I've never had a problem with any glitches, the only time i ever had glitches was playing on my office pc or my busted up old ps4 which might as well be a toaster or potatoe. When i run it on my gaming pc it's always looking and running great as usual with ALL the extra mods and with no glitches.
When i do run it on my toaster it def varies with glitches and it is looking like it's a memory issue from running it on sub standard hardware. I've owned this on ps3,ps4,RPCS3,ps5 and PC n I've only had glitches on select platforms and flawless on others.
This game has been appreciated and adorn for the last 10 years by the hard core community cause it didn't conform and cater to those that wanted something else entirely and cried about everything that it wasn't. This is why the game is so strong.
And if people are TOO scared? GOOD.. GROW SOME BALLS and TOUGH IT OUT it's not like it's real and is really gonna hurt you. Infact it's the fear, tension and anxiety this game delivers that has resulted in its extended underground success. They intentionally left the movement slow for tension and made the repetitive movements a tension/anxiety builder, rightfully so. Like the creative directors said if you don't like it? (IT ISN'T THEIR PROBLEM), which is also why there isn't an official VR version coz it's so scary to people. If you can't handle it? Don't play it. But to alter the things that made it great just to appease the people that don't really care is foolish. Catering NEVER delivers a good product. Ever. It's a solid 9.75, maybe even 10 out of 10. I agreed with what your feeling when it comes to the pacing until i played through it consecutive times. Only afterwards and pondering did I realized it isn't nearly as long as people think. I can run this and finish it with 4 aliens on nightmare in roughly 8 to 10 hours total. 8 to 10 hours isn't very long for replayablility so the game isn't long. The players are just no good at it.
They should never, NEVER add the ability to kill the alien either.. Being able to kill the alien would kill the experience and if killing xenos is what people want? Go play the other 20+ failed alien games that applied that killing formula you and others are asking for. In fact this next game should be even MORE SCARIER, even MORE LONGER cuz it's that sustained horror that made this game so great not the other way around. Plus this next time they should keep it as slow if not slower and if players can't finish it? Good!! That only means it will deliver to the real fans and those that have appreciation for their hard work and not the posers that "think" just cause they played through it on easy in 90 hours that they know everything about it and all it had to offer. I've done it to many times too count and I still discover new things all of the time and it's a shame people can't see it for themselves a I cannot think of another title ever that has delivered like this does.
People don't like the tension? That's the whole point. To that I gotta say go play the other tiktok brain rot that makes up EVERYTHING else on the market and leave this game alone. This is 100% perfect the way it is and there's ALOT of real reasoning why they did what they did and to change ANY of it would ruin the successful formula. (And I'm positive the real fans would agree) This game only made it this far and has retained the popularity because it doesn't CATER it doesn't conform to others expectations and delivers an experience that THEY the developers wanted you to have, not the other way around.
If the game wasnt what it is and was everything like you and others wished it was, say you got all the things you've been speaking about changed? People wouldn't love it and it would become a total absolute abysmal FAILURE. Period. That's just a fact jack. It's the unfairness of this game that makes it what it is. People complained about dark souls too, until the get good mantra started to spread and now it's not an issue cuz those that know, knew it was the very reason why it was SO good.
This is because BOTH the developers of Alien isolation and dark souls had the nerve and back bone to do what they knew was best regardless of the online crybabies whining..(WHICH IS WHY IT'S STILL GOOD 10+ YEARS LATER!) If you make it for everyone? Nobody will like it and it won't be for anyone in the very end.
Thousands both have loved and hated that this game is getting more traction and exposure coz it not only gave us the possibly for a sequel "finally". It also serves to highlight those that don't appreciate this art form and are usually the loudest and the least informed in the community as they'll just move on to the next thing to sensationalize n criticize rather than showing real and true knowledge of the content. These developers deserve a standing ovation for delivering an unfettered, unadulterated true horror experience with no apologies, I'm sure that othe6r agree that they should continue to operate on the same way of creating n crafting an experience THEY want to tell and nothing more, nothing less.
But, I will say that I do apologize for my rant however it was the dumb ass big mouthed morons at IGN namely one person that nearly sunk this game into oblivion the last 8 years in the first place. Cuz some soy drinking limp wristed chud IGN reviewer couldn't handle the game and wanted a COD like experience instead that he delivered a pathetic 5.9 out of 10. A 5.9 out of 10.. 5.9 for a true and authentic masterpiece... SMH
The worst thing is that people listened to this turd!!! He basically nearly ruined the future for this installment cuz it wasn't for him. And it's these lukewarm "tourists" that deliver shallow criticism and biased narrow minded impatient monologs that nearly ruined this games future prospects. Honestly this is a bigger issue in other arenas as well from gaming to even politics. Simply cuz people listen to others rather than looking for themselves and making up their own mind using critical thinking skills.
Anyhow I am happy to see more people coming aboard and finally showing love for something that sorely was deprived of it in the past. We and myself for one just need to be grateful and happy for what we got and maybe not nitpick everything apart for no other reason than to pick. Some criticisms are valid but most are not and are done just to do it.
Great video nonetheless and keep up the good work. 👍 I subbed and look forward to seeing more from a fan since we are extremely lucky to be alien fans at this time. I choose to believe and trust that the best is certainly yet to come. Peace ✌️

I play this game religiously on the challenge maps and the 1st movie DLC modes where you're on the Nostromo and can control Ripley and co. I even at one point did the marathon mode on the challenge maps and beat it on my 8th attempt as Axle. Great game decent enough story, decent bonus content and a good enough challenge overall. I highly recommend to any patient stealth horror game lovers. To new comers I would play Amnesia the Dark Descent to grasp the concept of the controls for Alien Isolation better because movement and engagement wise the games play similarly despite Alien Isolation having some more mechanics to work with, I say the first Amnesia can get you a nice head start. Also in the story you can actually encounter the Alien as early as Axle dying if you wait long enough or immediately start running around and making noise which is cool if you ask me.

I didn't mind the lack of options for combat. Having to use stealth to escape threats made the game more immersive in some parts. Of course, there were also some parts of the game where stealth became more of a chore, and that became frustrating a few times.
That being said, I hope that the sequel does not veer too far away from the stealth gameplay, as that made Alien Isolation the horror game that it is. And I especially enjoyed it. But I would like to see improved combat options for specific parts of the game, perhaps more towards the end. I just don't want the game to become too combat oriented, as it will hurt the horror aspect of it.

I hope that it’s the same approach on the second part of the game, but better graphics and like you said, better pacing and all this stuff. But I don’t like the idea of having the possibility to kill the alien, because then it would remind too much of Colonial Marines. The survival aspect of the game is what makes it stand out from all the other Alien games.

Absolutely love this game. For all its faults, I find it utterly immersive and absorbing and so true to the lore/original film. Genuinely suspenseful and scary too.
I tried a mod that buffs the AI ... lets the alien hunt in airshafts, and even adds more aliens so you get three or four of them to worry about. I lasted about 20 minutes lol.
Difficult to imagine what might be done with a v2 but it'll be a challenge to come up with anything as special as 1.
I actually like the slowness of some of the mechanics and interactions, torches and buttons and doors etc. For me, it ups the feeling of tension wonderfully, trying to do something with the fear that the xenomorph might appear at any moment.

I just completed my first walkthrough of AI and now started to watch more videos of how others do it 😀. And that first time I chose a nigtmare difficulty... Because why not? At first I wasn't worry about no map or UI, I thought it is only at the beginning. But then I realised that it is forever. So I finished the first walkthrough of game on a nightmare.
So I encourage you, guys, who can't make themselves play the game, it is doable even first time on hardest difficulty. The game isn't really big, and it is well made: I stuck few times with no map not knowing where to go, but overall you have a clue where you should go. But the main idea that you need to get used to is that HE will be there, hunting and prowling. And you will die and load the saves until you find the right door or a good route. Even pro players die doing speedruns😀

A lot of the complaints I remember about Alien Isolation at the time regarded the length of the game, and it outstaying it's welcome. There were probably half a dozen or so false finishes, and plenty of backtracking (or more, revisiting old areas).

I feel like this could be solved in the sequel by making certain sections and goals optional. (Small) branching paths rather than a completely linear story.

If you take the first game as an example, the "Amanda finding closure", "Apollo Core" and "Anesadora" sections could have been skippable. Do the flashback mission, unlock the Anesadora section later on.

I think the only thing I heavily disagree on is the point you raised on the animations. I think that the fact these are so long are intentional and necessary to have the game be much more tense. Of course, when we have played the game a trillion times like me, we are all tired of the torch taking ages to cut the panels or clicking the symbols on the hacker tool, but the whole point is you are doing these mini-tasks while evading the alien, and that's the key. Maybe some animations could get faster, especially as Amanda (or any character) practice/learn to draw the weapons more efficiently. But also as it is not a FPS game, the speed of the weaponds shouldn't be the same as a tactical shooter.
There are a couple things I would change tho:
    - For some reason, when in the lockers, only if the alien starts "sniffing" you it pops up the prompt to hold breath and lean back. I think the best would be to have it as a constant banner to the side of the screen. I see a lot of people that play it for the first time get killed because they didn't get to react fast enough after reading the message, which is very unfair. I first played it 10 years ago so I can't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure I also learned the hard way.
    - I think a backpack would be cool to have at some point in the game, so you could potentially hold more loot and items in general.
    - I would also add some mechanic to better defend against facehuggers, and not have them insta kill you if they touch you
There are some other stuff but not so much related to a sequel, more like small details from the game that I would change.

First things first, the Alien always active after Axel's death
Second, it is too smart and meant to be unpredictable, always surprises you.
And also, even with these problems, it is still the best survival horror game with the best AI ever made for the first time. And I'm sure they will make improvements in the sequel.
In some parts I agree with you, and in some parts I don't. As you mentioned this game is way too terrifying. It should be terrifying, and even more in the sequel, like the Alien is always right behind you waiting for you to turn around to kill you.
And i think they should add third person camera kill as an option to see how Alien kills you in brutal ways.

  • @rippy4260
    @rippy4260 3 дні тому

I want alien isolations sequel gives us a better tag team with the aliens, we played with up to two without mods and it seems alright but each one is on their own
Cant really explain it well because while its good as yall may have seen in modded playthroughs more than 3 is both imposible but also cheesy all of them can vent if you lock yourself in a patient room, if the ai was made to cooperate with many sub ais one may vent and look for a place to enter and the others either wait for the door to open or maybe they just continue searching for you (or pretend to trick you into moving)
Tbh making a better ai that can do way way more than in the current game is unfair but theres always a need to improve upon it regardless, we all know the old say "if its not broken, dont fix it" same applies for perfect stuff, althought it is not perfect per say, it will require a whole decade to think it thru carefully and innovate without making it unfair or dumb as hell

  • @balazszsigmond826
    @balazszsigmond826 9 днів тому +1

Most of the speed and minigame stuff you complain about are part of the art direction. This is a horror game about a welder in space trying to survive in an environment a veteran commando couldn't.
The slow movement is because Amanda may be fit...ish... but she is certainly not an athlete. She is moving either slowly at first, because people tend to not zip around like crazy, then after she is moving about carefully, because people who zip around get killed. Crawling is slow. Working is slow. And when a cthulu-giger-alien-duckyou is hunting you, you shouldn't even attempt to cut a door open or dismantle a mechanical seal, because it makes too much noise and because it is dangerous. Getting you involved in the mini-game might make it an even more frantical experience, when you don't know if the creature is breathing down your neck or not, but your attention is focused on your job.
Yes, veteran players get to know the AI and realise when they are safe, and for those attempts, the minigame is tedious. But for a first experience, especially if you went in blind, this is what the minigames are for. To add tension, to evoke a feeling of uneasiness.
Edit: what I mean is, you have every right to hate the pacing, just keep in mind, complaining about it is like complaining about why a painting's sea is purple when you wanted green.
