I was bequeathed a CLX pro on11/05/2024 ... compared to my Daystate Huntsman revere ... not beating about the bush ... its sh1te ..its off to Ratworks for a tune , hope it solves the issue of a 4 inch grouping at 30 yards compared to the Daystates 10mm

The gun didn't need a regulator and certainly didn't need to be another £100 more expensive because of regulator. I own the exact gun and it is amazingly accurate like all ultras
Only benefits of rregulator would be a few more shots. It couldn't make it anymore accurate. Cost to benefit ratio and if somebody wants those extra few shots they can have one fitted aftermarket

Agreed its a good gun, but mine is now on the market, as i just use the R10 for everything. Do not need another dust collector.

Nice video, but just a question from a lay person, why regulate it? Why would it be needed?

Hi traindriver, I just searched out the repair report from BSA. There was a pellet lodged in the trigger assembly and the wrong knock off restrictor fitted. The report was dated 8/12/2022, since then the gun has worked perfectly, absolutely no issues (apart from BSA's insistence on sticking to a 13mm dovetail). I'm using AirArms diablo field (4.52) straight from the tin.
About the 13mm dovetail: Andy on AAR online says he uses BLK mounts, but I can only find them in 11mm for dovetail fitting. Does anyone have any experience using them on BSAs? Cheers, Dave.

I've had an ultra clx in .177 for nine months now. Accurate and fun to shoot until- last week it failed to cock. I took it out of the carry case at my local gunshop and the assistant said "You've got lead going back into the block and now it won't cock." Pretty good since I hadn't said a word. It turns out that they won't now stock the clx rifles because so many ultras have come back to them with this problem. My gun (which I love) is back at BSA and I hope it's getting some mod or other to prevent this problem. Hate to say this, but you may want to bear this in mind if you're thinking of buying a BSA with the clx stock.

Just to be clear are you talking about the new side lever or the standard block, Mine is the new CLX block, witch is now on the R12 CLX (with a reg). Only the 160th ultra's have these.

@@allthingsag938 Good point, Marcus. I should have said that I have the standard block with the bolt action. There's at least one UA-cam video that highlights the problem and that is also bolt action. Hopefully, you will never encounter the problem. Best wishes, Dave.

To end (hopefully) this problem, BSA have returned the gun with a bush in the block that severely cuts down the tolerance on the pellet probe. As a result, the bolt is a fraction tighter to operate, but nothing significant; there's no space for lead to enter the block and I am happily banging Air Arms fields at various targets without a problem. Thanks BSA.

@@davea8046 I suppose the question is,now lead can't fall into the breach which is good but why is it shaving lead in the first place?

Cos regs constantly fail and unregged guns don't. Regs creep and un regged guns don't. Regged guns often spike at the end of the charge and unregged don't. A reg will cost more money and you will be constantly messing about with it instead of shooting .
And you will only get an extra 10 shots for all these down sides .
