Dad, to better test how well each bot is truly mopping I'd recommend taking a paper towel and running it over the area where they mopped. That's when the difference becomes clear. I did this with my Q Revo which visually made my floors look clean after mopping, but the paper towel revealed that there was still plenty of dirt that it didn't pickup and instead just spread around enough to the point where I couldn't see it.
Even after mopping, if you press your fingers on the floor it creates much more force. thats why it will never be that clean unless you scrub on your knees.
It’s hard to buy the Dreame when they come out with a new and improved version every 3 months. It’s ridiculous for the price; you really want to feel like you get at least a year out of your purchase. Just package all the improvements annually. Their retooling cost must be insane.
Yea it's ironic because there's already a new version, X40 Pro Ultra. The lidar retracts so it can go under low furniture. I ordered one from China, although it's not ideal because it comes with a lot of risks. Let's see how it goes.
The moping of the Eufy is more impressive but the Dreame kinda compensate with its ability to identify dirt and go back for a second round. Plus you can connect it to fresh water to avoid having to use the reservoirs
I love my x40 but kinda miss the carpet cleaning performance of the roomba s9. The long d shape dual roller did a great job. If the roomba didn't give me so many navigation errors I wouldn't have felt the need to upgrade. Not have to babysit the x40 is a dream. Oh no dad joke.
Thanks for getting this review out to us so fast!! This is great! I have the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra and from all the reviews, including yours from the “vs” against the X40. I’m happy with it. I think the dreame has a slightly better obstacle avoidance on it than my Roborock as the dreame has 3 cams vs the Roborock 2 and has more avoidance objects and the mopping is a little more powerful (takes less passes to lift stuff) but the vacuuming on the S8 MaxV beats it on carpet and uses the arm on carpet to help. I think the S1 can’t be beat on floor mopping and truly believe that’s the future. Dreame actually has a Mova G30 in china that also has a mop like the S1 but it’s not as advanced as the X40, it’s more like the Dreame X30 body. I got my S8 MaxV Ultra with the accessories, 5 year warranty (which I’m watching your process, which is similar to how Dreame handles things from what I hear) and I got a free Roborock Flexi Lite wet/dry vac all included at the sale for $1799 so it makes the initial cost drop for me with more value. Now you only get the 5 year warranty included but parts are readily available. They’ve pushed out a few firmware updates too. Keep doing your thing. Love this channel!
Also, probably more hype than anything but it’s cool that the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Breaks New Ground as the First Robotic Vacuum to Achieve Matter Certification. I guess that means its features and ability to mesh with other systems is very capable for the most part. Kinda cool for a nerd like me 😂 I know this isn’t about the S8 MaxV Ultra but since yours is under warranty just comparing it out loud lol😅. The S1 and X40 are its biggest competitors in my opinion.
If you do not have carpets in your house the S1 Pro is a no brainer. It is crazy how well it cleans compared to x40 ultra , i had both but i returned the x40 ultra .

The vibrating mop of the S8 is OK, but I can see the S1 would be considerably better. How is the vacuuming (on hard floors) with the S-1? For example, it doesn’t have the swing out brush like my Roborock, are you satisfied with the vacuum performance of the S-1?
based on how quickly Eufy stopped supporting the mach v1 ultra. I wouldn't trust replacement rollers, or the cleaning solution made for it to be available in the long run.

no the solution tank is not refillable. you have to buy from eufy. if the water sits too long it might grow, the eufy x10 pro omni might be what you are looking for. no clear tanks and you add the solution yourself to the clean water tank.
Thanks so much for the reply. That's a bummer. The S1 seems like a much better mop other than those 2 issues. Not sure if the water ozone might inhibit algae growth but I can just imagine the headache it would be if it grew algae. The ability to refill the solution would be a nice option, I like to sometimes use white vinegar to assist keeping nozzles from clogging and as a disinfectant floor cleaner.
Interesting video, but as long as l can clean up muddy paw prints with a paper towel and a spray or two of cleaner in about 20 seconds, instead of the entire complicated process, I will wait to see what the next generation robo mops have to offer. I was also surprised at the lack of suction power to deal with dog hair on the carpet. A cool toy for the household that needs to have everything or for those who have forgotten how to clean things the old fashioned way.
I’ve found it to work very well in practice. It completely prevents the dirty water from starting to smell, even after a week of it sitting there. For comparison, my Q Revo’s dirty water tank would smell horrible within just a couple days of it sitting there. The smell was so gross that I honestly hated every time I had to empty it. No such issues with the S1’s dirty water tank though.
I'll always take vacuuming performance over mopping performance. I would never run my vacuum robot over such messes. If I drop ketchup on the floor I much rather bend over and wipe it manualy. I dont want the side brushes and tires on the robot running over that mess. I know these messes are exagerated for the porpuse of these reviews, but they are not real world sceneraios unless you are a real pig. I like that the Dreame has the option to leave the mop pads on the base since I would never trust 100% that the robot will raise and miss the carpet. I feel like the ozone thing on the eufy is more of a gimmick, but for the price compared to the Dreame it seems to be a good robot. If money is not a factor I'd go Dreame X40 since it seems to be the better all around robot.

I have both and the X 40 is in a box going for sale on eBay because this one is a game changer and it's not even comparable. Like Aldi roller mopping robots the X 40 is smearing the dirt ar and it never is fully clean. The S1 and it's intelligence it's incredible. The station is so clean all the time ) The debris tray is never dirty. I wouldn't even call mopping, but like they said in the advertising it is a floor washing. It's a proper wash, with the edges and detergent is amazing because using the UV you can see and compare both what they live behind. It's such an amazing feeling to have floors and always walk with white socks and they always the same white after S1Pro. the Dreamy x40 and RoboRock are the same belonging to the same company, which is Xaiomi. If you check the newest rubber rock offering it's exactly the same as X 40 isn't just different plastic body. Speaking of plastic and quality I think you should have mentioned that because and holding both is simply not comparable. The S1 Pro feel solid, heavy like a proper, machine and also built very simply so there's no sharp address same with the station. The station is small and it's beautiful. It doesn't look like it mini fridge. Yes, the suction could be better, but you need to understand that your reviewed doesn't make adjust because this robot operates very differe it's intelligence is different meaning when it goes to my bedroom for example which is fully carpeted always and then you will see that it's exactly the same result. The obstacle avoidance is not as good as you say with Xl 40. It's still it's the cables and doesn't have a real time obstacle avoidance like S1 Pro. If it was you standing in the kitchen it will avoid the it,y will not cleaning it again when the one Pro will understand and when it sees you gone it will come back and clean the spot and for all the people thinking about buying, don't even hesitate trust me. As an S1 Pro owner, I have to disagree. For hard floors it's amazing at both mopping and vacuuming. It's only carpet that it doesn't do that great on, but Eufy is actively taking feedback from owners and has an engineer that's very responsive in the Eufy S1 Pro discord channel. They're aware of carpet issues and are working on ways to improve it.

And I got mine on a super deal when it was $400 off so it was almost half of what eufy charged me! And in my opinions it cleans better and navigates better than the eufy S1

no base station stays in one place only move robot, it will find where its at then come back to that same spot, lift it up and put it in front of the dock then tell it to dock it setlf

I have sent the S1 back. Here are a few negative points that come to mind. - Lack of detection of changes on carpets - known problem, if carpets are detected, then gone, then not mopped - Too much maintenance required. The robot is very dirty after a few uses. Especially all contact parts that come into contact with water - if you want to clean everything, it quickly takes 1 hour - one of my main points - the volume and duration of drying - Volume generally rather high - Corner cleaning only ok - Often gets stuck. Runners are pulled in by the mop - Wipe function hardly cleans stubborn stains Software error: - Navigation map often disappears and has to be recreated - Navigation generally rather difficult, navigation almost no longer works in direct sunlight. Then the X1 takes a break every meter and reorients itself - Every time the Robo starts, it needs a new orientation, goes down and up again and only then starts again - The planning of recharging, refilling mop water and cleaning the mop is not coordinated. This leads to frequent trips to the docking station. And much more... Positive: - Design - The mop is already good and makes a good job, even tracks - Object avoidance pretty good (recognizes everything wrong, but it‘s ok) There is a Kickstarter Discord channel. People had a lot more trouble than i have. I will go with a fixed water connection. So maybe the X40Master.
@@marliesfransen Dripping is only happening on some models and the squeaking is alleviated by simply greasing the small front wheel. The carpet issue of it not detecting when it's removed is being fixed in an upcoming update which has been confirmed by a Eufy engineer. Not really sure what they mean regarding maintenance. I've had mine for 3 weeks and the only thing that needed to be cleaned so far is the dirty water tank filter, and that took maybe 30 seconds to rinse off in my sink. Compared to every other robovac I've had (many Roborock's), the S1 has required the least maintenance so far.
Curious to hear why you found the maintenance to be so high for the S1? I've had mine for 3 weeks now doing daily mopping and vacuuming, and the only thing I've had to do is rinse off the dirty water tank filter. Nothing else on the bot or base has needed maintenance for me.
You should also test how well they mop dried dirt on the floor. This is something the dreame is better, because the roller mop of the s1 has very little contact with the floor
You guys are lucky. I'd love to get my hands on tue Dreame X40 Ultra in the UK, but they're not available. Dreame says if I buy it and use it in the UK I'd loosenthe warranty, which is annoying.

When you go into the app and have the base station self clean when it puts down the water, you can measure it that way.

I own the X10 omni and it’s a great machine. The only things it struggles with are high rugs and furniture feet that start at low angles.

Eufy price is actually very good compared to X40 but you have to keep in mind the Eufy is still under development so problems may appear.

I have a Dreame L20 Ultra, but after seeing the Dreame X50 Ultra I think I will probably upgrade since it cant go open small bumps by raising itself.

@@marliesfransen Dripping is only happening on some models and the squeaking is alleviated by simply greasing the small front wheel.
The carpet issue of it not detecting when it's removed is being fixed in an upcoming update which has been confirmed by a Eufy engineer.
Not really sure what they mean regarding maintenance. I've had mine for 3 weeks and the only thing that needed to be cleaned so far is the dirty water tank filter, and that took maybe 30 seconds to rinse off in my sink. Compared to every other robovac I've had (many Roborock's), the S1 has required the least maintenance so far.
Curious to hear why you found the maintenance to be so high for the S1? I've had mine for 3 weeks now doing daily mopping and vacuuming, and the only thing I've had to do is rinse off the dirty water tank filter. Nothing else on the bot or base has needed maintenance for me.

It seems like no ones dreame x40 actually cleans the mop pads with hot water and the station, Mine isnt. Is yours?

You should also test how well they mop dried dirt on the floor. This is something the dreame is better, because the roller mop of the s1 has very little contact with the floor
With the S1 Pro, when it went over the wet paw prints did some of that mud get into the vacuum roller and in the on-board Dust bin?
With the MACH you are gonna have the walls dirty, if it stands close to the walls
I think u forget to show the mop condition after auto cleaning for Eufy.. 🤣
You guys are lucky. I'd love to get my hands on tue Dreame X40 Ultra in the UK, but they're not available. Dreame says if I buy it and use it in the UK I'd loosenthe warranty, which is annoying.
