One of my favorites by Vivaldi. I first encountered this lively, almost jazzy little piece in High School and it was my gateway drug to Baroque music. ❤
I only found about this piece a couple weeks ago, from the variation, and I'm just in love with the original. It sounds so nice and lovely, can't get over it.
The syncopated notes are fantastic. He extended the syncopation in all the movements with different variations.. fantastic. Infact he is a fantastic composer full of life and colour.
I clicked on this video as a lark, having been watching quite a few of your outstanding videos lately, and found my instant favorite Vivaldi work, this is a stunning and timeless piece. Thank you so much for putting this up here!
Vivaldi is easily one of the greatest composers of all times.
Vivaldi's pieces in minor tones are amazing!

So modern...and love how he didn't like to finish with Picardy cadence
Allegro 3 is a blessing

I love Vivaldi' s music! as much as my ancestor's: Giuseppe Tartini.
Didn’t know that one, great!
The gondolas swaying in the wind, the moon reflected in the water of the canals, Venice is very beautiful. Vivaldi, where are you?

So the piece is in G Minor, but the key signature is D Minor. Why is that?
Common practice in the baroque era to notate minor key signatures with one fewer flat than we do today.
Someone could explain to me why caption says g minor but score is d minor?
The piece is in g minor, but in the baroque era it was common practice to write minor keys with less flats (in this case one flat instead of two)
It is written in g dorian. This was very common in the baroque era.
