I'm Raymond Cripps, an indie game developer using Unreal Engine to make my first commercial game. Project Feline is an anime-inspired parkour adventure where players run on walls, grind on rails and use Gabi's momentum-based movement to traverse complex environments. Hey guys, there's been a lot going on the last six months and I haven't had as much time to set aside to make devlogs. We recently applied for a development grant from Screen Australia and made this demo as our submission. We won't hear back from them for a while, but if they say yes then we'll be able to afford to continue development until release! In the meantime we'll be continuing to work towards our next milestone, so I may be gone for a bit longer until that's done.
Just some tips: More visual feedback when things happen, help out game immersion. VFX when you collect stuff, grind, etc. If those were already in your plan then good.
Also just a personal take, but im not a fan of the low fps style animation. I think its cool what you are trying to do, but its too much as it stands right now
@@IANDURBECK Like I said, this is just a Pre-Alpha. We would be able to explore more VFX and polish if we are able to secure more funding.

if you can, mihoyo/hoyoverse's character designs could be used as some solid inspiration if you are running a bit short on design and aesthetic. (im a big fan of their games, so seeing a bit of inspiration from lesser known titles warms my heart to see)
Ayo you’re Aussie too? I remember hearing about this project first on r/titanfall (or it was something titanfall related). Amazing to see how far it has come!

This looks amazing, the animation style with minimal frames making the movement seem off being the only nit pick I have.

As someone who has been here since just after you started posting updates, I am amazed by how far you've come with this project over the years.
And might I add, the art style you're going for is perfect for the gameplay.
Speaking of which, top work on those jump animations. They have weight. It doesn't feel unnatural like a lot of recent games out there.

ive sunk so much time into speedrunning sky port. this game is so much fun and it feels so good to just go really fast. cant wait to see how things turn out!
imagine a giant halfpipe underneath a really difficult level with no floor, instead its a giant halfpipe that gives you enough speed to zoom back to the level above.

I know that the animation in it's current state is going to probably be tweened to be more smooth but I honestly kinda like the frame-to frame semi-choppy look to it. It looks unique and cool!

It's been a while since I checked up on you project, and it looks better and better! This already looks quite solid, and stylistically reminds me of Blade Kitten, which I'm a fan of. I almost expected to see troopers in red armor at some point, haha!
