There is no difference between Śrī Vrindāvana and Sri Navadvipa-dhama." ~ Srī Navadvīpa-dhāma-mahātmya Over 500 years ago, Lord Krishna appeared as Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in Navadvip to inaugurate the chanting of the Hare Krishna maha-mantra.
We'd be starting the first day of our parikrama by visiting Yogapitha, the birthplace of Sri Chaitnaya Mahaprabhu located in Antardvipa, one of the nine islands of Sri Navadvip Dham.

Sri Navadvipa consists of 9 Islands namely:

Each of these 9 Islands has a high spiritual significance and is imbibed with transcendental qualities. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu used to frequently visit these islands with His associates and encourage the congregational chanting of the holy names of Lord Krishna.
Every year, devotees take pleasure in traversing these islands, visiting various temples along the banks of river Ganga and reminiscing the pastimes of Lord Chaitanya. Particularly during the period of Gaura Purnima (March 18th), the divine appearance day of Lord Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
