4:58 (" Though you feel like your lifes become a catastrophy,..ohhh it has to be,...for you to grow boy") - Best line ever. This is my favorite Supertramp song. Such a vibe to it...
I'm 60 now. Supertramp was popular in my mid teens into my early 20's and there wasn't anybody who didn't know Supertramp. This is my growing up music. You were contemplating the album art. That waitress is the statue of liberty against the dishes background of the New York skyline as seen from a passenger plane... arriving for a "Breakfast in America", The name of the album.
The Logical Song was the 1st single from this album and has so many cool sound effects in it, the 2nd single was the melancholy rock song Goodbye Stranger (my favorite) and this was the 3rd single. They were massive in 1979 with this album.
Supertramp was so creative in their music using a wide array of musical instruments in their songs. Their biggest album was Breakfast in America in 1979 and it stayed at number one on the Billboard Charts for 5 weeks.
Supertramp has SO many great songs, but I think this one is my favorite. It is dark. His life kind of sucks, but he's happy in his car listening to his tunes, so he usually takes the long way home. Btw, the album cover is the Statue of Liberty. 🙂
Knowing this album since it's release I only recently put together that the waitress is in place of the statue of liberty...Don't sleep on Crime of the century album either. Both are amazing! #school
Amazing song by Roger, who displayed his mastery on this album by composing the most commercial songs. Rick accompanied him on keyboards and harmonica making these songs perfect.
Yeah that's the 'Breakfast in America' album cover. The waitress on the front is in the pose of the statue of liberty--only instead of a torch & tablet she's got a glass of orange juice & a menu.
This album came out in 1979, the year I graduated from high school. Killer album! Very different from what we were all listening to back then. You're doing a great job !
This whole album was massive. There was a period where you couldn't turn on the radio without hearing something from this record.
Album is Breakfast in America, released in1979.The whole album is great,Logical Song from it is probably their biggest hit on it.

Gotta Experience "Goodbye Stranger" Go there next!❤
4:49 'feeling' it huh Ace? I agree. That's not music,.....it's art.

I doubt that it is the real Statue Of Liberty.

Truly one of their best songs. Thanks for reviewing this classic! 🎶
A great follow-up song to this would be "School" from their Crime of the Century album. It’s so good.
Breakfast in America is an awesome Album!!
So many great songs.
The whole Album deserves a reaction.
What a great Album one of my favorites. Thanks .
This album is the first one I bought for my car's new cassette deck. I had way over 500 miles on that tape.🤩😎

Sure do like your reactions man. And I'm glad you picked up on that really wonderful bass guitar line.

Yes, it's the album cover: a waitress as if she were the Statue of Liberty and the port of New York as if it were a breakfast table.
You can't judge an album by the cover...Beetle's white album for examply.
Fun. Check out Bloody Well Right, an earlier hit. You'll love it!
💪👍😎
It’s a clarinet not a sax. You are correct about the harmonica though. 😉
Please, please, please listen to the song 'School' by Supertramp...it will blow your mind in a great way 👍
More Supertramp, *School" "Crime of the Century"...
I still have the vinyl of this album. Getting old I guess.
Still funny to see young people who don't know that's music is played by real musicians and sing by real singers and not by Auto-tune and computers 😂
damn....well that number flew right straight, and high over your head. ya got caught up in the groove and did not listen, my boy.
